A unique space that can only be experienced here. When you open the door, you step into a classic Western-style mansion interior...
Hello again, it's my second time here. It was lunchtime, so this time I went for the crepe set. I was torn between the Ogura toast and the zenzai again, but the crepe was recommended, so I went for that. Let's have it with black tea this time. The crepe is a warm freshly baked dough wrapped around milk ice cream, soaked in orange juice like a demiglace sauce on an omelette rice. It's a classic and interesting combination. The crepe dough is thick and satisfying to eat, and when you mix 2-3 pieces with the ice cream or sauce, it seems like it will be quite filling. The black tea is served in a classic rose-patterned cup and saucer by Noritake, with a nice aroma. However, I felt it was a bit light compared to the crepe, so maybe coffee would have been better. I preferred the coffee here. As I sat down and took a deep breath, I felt comfortable and started to feel a bit drowsy, reaching a state of relaxation. I might become the person who orders zenzai and coffee again. It seems like a place that suits a sunny day, but maybe the afternoon is better for sunny days, and the morning is better for rainy days. It has a somewhat languid and slightly lethargic atmosphere that seems to fit. My beloved healing space. I often encounter interesting customers talking to the owner. Well, that's it for now.
I mistakenly arrived in the afternoon due to a scheduling error, so I decided to visit this place with its distinctive atmosphere. However, there were more things displayed and for sale under the awning in front of the door than I had expected, which made me think twice about entering... But when I opened the door, I was greeted by a space that looked like a classic Western mansion, a space that seems to only exist in movie sets. The chairs and covers are in a velvety red, the tables, ceiling, and furniture reveal wooden textures, the walls are adorned with red and gold fabric patterns, and various decorations scattered around exude a classical feel. The warm-toned lighting casts a dull amber glow everywhere. Opening the door felt like entering a different dimension. It's a space that has accumulated a sense of weight and lightness over the years, something like the air woven by the red velvet. Being the first customer of the day, I immersed myself in the moody music playing in the space for a while. By the way, feeling a bit bold, I chose the seat at the far end, where there was a large window that also served as a back door, mixing a mysterious atmosphere with a hint of sunlight and everyday life. Interesting... (laughs) Now, the shiratama zenzai and coffee set for 700 yen. I'll have the blend. It was cold... I was in a hurry and forgot my jacket, it was cold... A beautiful gray-haired madam elegantly prepared it for me. In a black traditional wooden lidded ceramic bowl, there was a straightforward and honest shiratama zenzai, accompanied by salt-pickled perilla seeds on the side. I've never tried it before, but the gentle taste of perilla and salt alone, with the popping texture in my mouth, was quite precious...! The zenzai was also simple, starting with the salty taste, followed by the pure flavors of red beans and sugar, a simple yet unadulterated taste that... soothes the soul. The white mochi balls were soft and bouncy, with a firm and delicious chestnut sweet at the bottom. Yummy. As I absentmindedly devoured it all, the coffee was served. I chose a light roast because most places with such a traditional atmosphere tend to have strong and bold coffee. But before that, the coffee was served in such a lovely setup...!!! I sometimes hesitate to take pictures of places where I sense a certain dedication, but this time, I couldn't help it. Isn't it lovely? Right? It's my kind of style. The cup's...
