Sasaichi is always busier than other local restaurants. I always have a hard time deciding what to order because everything is delicious. I think there are no bad choices here! Today, I had the yuzu duck soba, which had a nice yuzu flavor. The soba is always reliably tasty. My daughter had the sukiyaki ramen, which she enjoys and orders often. The fried chicken, wasabi edamame, and potatoes are also must-try items. I tried the fried tofu and vegetables for the first time today, and it was delicious. I forgot to take a picture after finishing my meal, oops! It was crowded today, but I'm glad I made a reservation. It's a shame they don't have sushi, and I always miss the spicy potatoes. However, everything else is delicious, and the staff are friendly, so I will definitely come back again.

Even though we were not residents of the town, we found ourselves struggling to find a place to eat on the first night of the Bon holiday. We decided to try calling Sasai, thinking if they were full, we would just go home. To our surprise, they welcomed us in for dinner, even though they were almost fully booked! The restaurant was bustling with activity, as there was a Bon dance event happening in the nearby area. Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff at Sasai were very welcoming and accommodating. We decided to try a different set of dishes this time: seared stingray fin, tofu with green onions and ginger, and grilled chicken thighs with ponzu sauce. We enjoyed our meal with some fresh beer and local brew. Unfortunately, they were not serving any seafood that day, which was a bit disappointing. However, we look forward to the day when they bring back their delicious sushi. Thank you Sasai for your hospitality!

I couldn't forget the delicious soba I had before, so I visited again after a year. The soba still had great texture, smoothness, and flavor, and the "Tempura Soba Set" for 1380 yen was very satisfying in terms of cost-performance. Due to unstable and expensive fish supply, they stopped serving sushi since last year, and the counter has been changed to a soba-making booth. Although Sasaiichi is known as the "family restaurant of Higashikawa" with a wide menu, I think focusing on soba is a good choice. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant was almost full. When we entered, we found out that they had stopped selling sushi for a while due to various reasons, and were now focusing on hand-made soba and udon dishes, along with set meals and ramen. I ordered chicken udon because I wasn't feeling well. My partner had yuzu soba with grilled chicken. The soup was salt-based and the hand-made udon noodles were thin and elegant. It was disappointing that the sushi we were looking forward to was not available.

I had soy sauce ramen and fried rice, and I was surprised by the taste - it was just like the famous Asahikawa soy sauce ramen from Tsurya in 4th Avenue. I was amazed to find such delicious ramen in this place. Originally a sushi restaurant called Sasazushi, it seems they have upgraded to serve various types of food from different genres - a local diner where you can find anything. It was very crowded during lunchtime, with people waiting at the entrance. Highly recommended.

Meeting in Higashikawa. Wanted to have lunch but the desired restaurant was packed. Another restaurant was closed. I ended up at a familiar place I had been to before. It seems like I have some sort of connection with this place, haha. I remember visiting here last year during the filming of the legendary show "Beibei's Journey to the West". I haven't tried the udon here yet, but the lunch set includes homemade udon, which is a bit pricey at 1400 yen. The other options are also over 1000 yen. I decided to go with the eel tempura rice bowl for just under 1000 yen. The prices here are a bit high, but the food is good. I went with the pork cutlet curry with salad for 1380 yen, as suggested by my meeting partner. The curry is made with water from the underground of the Daisetsuzan mountains in Higashikawa. The curry sauce is slightly sweet and mild. I added some seven spice powder to make it spicier. The pork cutlet was delicious. I remembered having the same dish last year but without the salad. Maybe next time I'll try the pork cutlet set. Overall, the meal was good, but a bit on the expensive side.

"Sasaichi" is only during the election... otherwise, they act all high and mighty, right? I'm alone in Higashikawa, maybe Kushiro~ But I've already been to all the restaurants there... there's still soba left... Soba??? I would go if it's soba, but it's just called soba... maybe Asahikawa~ I want to eat ramen, so maybe Asahikawa~? It doesn't seem like a good choice though... I ended up in Higashikawa. I wanted to eat ramen, but Higashikawa doesn't match at all. I understand if it's a cafe though. So, I chose "Sasaichi". It's quite a big restaurant, almost full. I was seated at the counter, maybe 5 seats. There are also table seats and a raised platform. They are making soba noodles. Yet, I ordered "Shio Ramen". I was set on eating ramen, so I couldn't switch my mindset. It was supposed to be soba for sure. The ramen is 850 yen and soba is 920 yen. Both are too expensive. There is a wait. Even after finishing eating, the old man next to me was staring at the soba making. He stood up. Yes, that's the right thing to do. I waited for 30 minutes. The next plan is unexpectedly Asahikawa noodles. Why unexpectedly? Well, the soup is light. The soup is light but the menma is delicious. The soup is thin, probably tonkotsu, but there is a hint of umami and richness, but it is just light. The problem is the seaweed before that. It's delicious. The soup is like a cheap instant ramen. It's light and not tasty. But the old man stood next to me the whole time I was eating. It's so unsettling. It's the first time I've had such a restless lunch. A little standing is fine, but to have the old man standing next to me for 30 minutes while I eat is just too much. I don't know if it's the restaurant's fault, but why leave the seat empty? What's the point? If it's in the menu, the restaurant should be more careful. It almost led to a fight.

There are private rooms available, so due to recent circumstances, we ended up using them. It felt a bit repetitive and I got a little bored. The set meal included a type of simmered dish with a slightly sweet sauce. It was interesting to see simmered dishes served throughout the entire meal. I remember seeing something similar at a sushi restaurant in Kamifurano. It seems like the restaurant's unique touch, even though it doesn't really give off an Edo-style vibe. It's all a matter of personal preference. This time, the lunch menu had quite a few "off" days, but as usual, the restaurant was almost full during lunchtime. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Asahiyama Zoo and decided to try out a restaurant called Sasaichi that I found on Tabelog. The restaurant had a nice exterior and interior, which is one of my family's criteria for choosing a good restaurant. Although it may not directly affect the taste, I believe that a restaurant with a sense of style in its appearance is less likely to disappoint based on my experience. After spending the whole day at Asahiyama Zoo and sweating it out at Hotel Hanakagura, I arrived at Sasaichi feeling hungry. The restaurant was lively and had a good atmosphere, and the menu had a wide variety of options. I ordered the pork steak set and the chicken steak set, both of which were delicious. The chicken steak was especially recommended as it was tender and juicy. I left the restaurant thinking why we don't have such a great place near our home. Despite the restaurant not having a high rating on Tabelog, I believe it deserves more recognition. If you're in Higashikawa town and looking for dinner options, I highly recommend trying out Sasaichi. It was really delicious! Thank you for the meal!

It was a while ago when I visited after the renovation, and there was a certain menu that stuck in my mind... "Nabe-yaki Ramen." But actually, before this visit, I had already tried it... Due to the limitations of my old phone, I'm introducing a visit that was closer in time first... So, this time, I tried the "Nabe-yaki Udon" instead. It was priced at 900 yen. Whenever I see "Nabe-yaki" on the menu, I can't resist ordering it no matter what it is. It wasn't the Nabe-yaki Udon I expected, but a Kansai-style clear broth... It had a very nice, pleasant aroma. The thickness of the udon noodles was just right, and the simmering was to my liking. Maybe it turned clear because it was simmered, but I think even a regular tempura udon with no simmering would look delicious if it was clear. I've tried the set meals a few times in the past, so I'm more interested in the noodles at Sasai-san's place. I have a feeling that my next order will also be a noodle dish... Thank you for the meal.

In early January, we stopped by this restaurant after skiing nearby, and they had excellent COVID-19 precautions in place. The soba noodles were refreshing with a smooth texture, and the inari sushi had a lightly fried, sweet taste that was easy to enjoy. The chawanmushi had chestnuts in it, adding an elegant and delicious touch. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The menu is extensive and there are rooms that feel like private rooms ♬ Perfect for a suspicious gathering! haha It's not really suspicious though... but we reluctantly gathered a few people and used it... ♪*゚[Hotpot Ramen] ♬ 850 yen I've been curious about this menu since I visited with my friends before, but I couldn't find the opportunity as it's a menu where you can enjoy a variety of things little by little. But finally, the perfect chance arrived (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و We decided to order what we wanted and share the Hotpot Ramen with everyone ♬ Everyone seems interested... haha I ordered the "Seafood Sushi Roll Set" for 1300 yen, while everyone else ordered different things ♬ There are a lot of dishes in the photos as usual... haha Feel free to take a look (*>艸<) This restaurant has a wide variety of menu options, making it a great place for families or girls' outings, and it could come in handy depending on the occasion ✩.*˚ Bon appétit~(*´∀`)♪

On this day, there was a golf competition hosted by Ooyuki Chibeer. Even though it was a weekday, we decided to play golf by making excuses about work. We started in the afternoon, so we decided to have lunch before heading out. We went to the third restaurant we tried to go to. It's not that we ate at three different places haha. We don't often go to Higashikawa, so there are many restaurants we haven't tried. The first restaurant we aimed for was closed due to the owner fracturing his finger. It couldn't be helped, so we tried the famous Ezo Ramen. Turns out, it was closed too. Time was running out, so we found a restaurant in front of the Michi-no-Eki and decided to go in. The lunch set was around 1100 yen for soba. Oh, that's a bit... Other options were 1300 yen, 1400 yen, 1600 yen, 1900 yen. It's not within my lunch budget... Is there anything else? Donburi, set meals, and donburi dishes were relatively under 1000 yen. But... the first thing that caught my eye was the Curry for 1300 yen. Oh, that's over my budget. I was in a bit of a dilemma... Since we were pressed for time, I decided to choose between ramen or soba, thinking they would be quicker and more affordable. In the end, I chose the Tanuki Bukkake Soba as it seemed to be the quickest option. Although it still took over 15 minutes. Time was running out! I needed to eat quickly. The Vice President, Sugiyama, was watching Horii add the sauce to his soba and said he wanted to try that too. Well, I guess this way I can feel like I ate the bukkake soba... muttered Sugiyama. However, their techniques were different. The Vice President was left behind. The noodles were slightly curly, with a decent chewiness. The broth was soy sauce-based, but not too strong. The flavor of the broth didn't quite match up to that of a specialty shop. It needed a bit more punch, in my opinion. The Vice President, Sugiyama, made a comment that he wanted to try the bukkake soba as he watched Horii eat it. But he was eating the ramen and curry that he ordered. However, the curry was quite sweet. I prefer spicy curry... Also, the miso ramen was not as flavorful as I would have liked. I prefer a stronger taste. I exchanged it for soy sauce ramen and fried rice. We were in a hurry, so we had to eat quickly... Oh, I also don't like sweet curry. And I prefer my miso ramen to be more flavorful. As we were having a conversation, Horii sighed... Oh... have you finished eating already? In 1 minute and 13 seconds. A new record. Oh, you finished already? No, I still have to drink the soba broth.

This restaurant has the atmosphere of a sushi restaurant, but in addition to sushi, you can also choose from soba, ramen, and other regular dining menu options. Without hesitation, I ordered the soy sauce ramen. In about 10 minutes, the squid and squid tentacles rice bowl arrived. The ramen has a cloudy appearance typical of Asahikawa ramen. The soup has a mild soy sauce flavor without any sharp edges. It has plenty of lard and is piping hot, making it enjoyable until the last drop. The bamboo shoots are seasoned with black pepper. The noodles are not too low or high in water content, they are medium-thin curly noodles that go well with the soup. The chashu is a soft roll of pork belly. The squid and squid tentacles rice bowl has a crispy coating and the sauce is poured over the rice. Both the ramen and the squid and squid tentacles rice bowl were carefully prepared and delicious.

I had lunch at Sasai in Higashikawa Town. I ordered soy sauce ramen with a mini curry set, while my friend had a tempura bowl. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive, which was a bit slow. The ramen soup was delicious with a unique rich flavor, and the noodles were thin and well-cooked. However, the curry was a bit too sweet for my liking, and it had cooled down by the time it arrived. Overall, I enjoyed the ramen but found the curry disappointing. The restaurant is a good option for dining while camping at the nearby roadside station.

It's a place where you can easily have lunch. The menu has a variety of options and the flavors are consistently delicious. Even though it's not by the sea, I was happy to be able to eat chirashi sushi since I love sushi and seafood. The noodles also look delicious. My friends seem to like them.

I came to this restaurant for lunch, which has the appearance of a sushi restaurant, but now offers a wide variety of dishes such as sushi, ramen, soba, udon, set meals, and rice bowls. I heard that the ramen here is delicious, so I decided to try the soy sauce ramen. The soup is a tonkotsu-based broth, not too rich or light, but somewhere in between. The noodles are thin with a slight wave to them, which complements the soup well. As I continued eating, my lips started to stick together, which was a sign of a good soup in my opinion. Despite looking like a sushi restaurant, this place serves top-notch ramen.

Higashikawa Town Lunch! It was my first visit after the renewal. I was surprised at how clean and the increased number of seats. I chose the sushi set, but there were so many menu options that I had a hard time deciding. The fish was fresh. Getting all this for 1600 yen seems like a good deal. They also offer takeout, so I might get some souvenirs next time. I want to try different dishes like set meals and ramen, which are also plentiful. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I visited the newly renovated restaurant for the first time! It's a sushi restaurant, but they also have soba, udon, ramen, and other noodle dishes, as well as set meals that are highly rated! In Higashikawa, a town with many trendy shops, this restaurant has a nice atmosphere too! The clean interior is filled with slow Western music. I was torn when looking at the lunch menu. I really wanted to eat sushi... In the end, I decided to go for the "Michikusa Set" (1,900 yen including tax), which includes sushi, sashimi, and tempura. The food was served in about 12-13 minutes. The sushi included maguro, sweet shrimp, salmon, kanpachi, and tobiko. Even though it's a set menu, the sushi tasted quite authentic. The sashimi consisted of mackerel, amberjack, octopus, and shrimp. The mackerel was especially delicious! It was perfectly seasoned and had a nice amount of fat. If I wasn't driving, I would definitely want to have a beer with this... (laughs) The tempura included shrimp, green pepper, and eggplant. It didn't come with tempura dipping sauce, but the staff suggested using the udon broth from the set for dipping. So I guess it's like having tempura udon... I was satisfied with that way of eating, but I wonder what those who just want to eat the tempura should do... (By the way, since it's a sushi restaurant, both soy sauce for sushi and sashimi are provided, of course.) As for the udon, it had a good texture and was very delicious! The broth was also subtly flavored! The chawanmushi (savory egg custard) was a bit sweet, I think... Additionally, the meal came with a salad and a side dish (on this day, it was crab and daikon radish salad). I was able to enjoy a leisurely lunch on my day off!
