I've always wanted to go to this yakitori restaurant called Ikoka. It's a cozy place with only a counter and about 15 seats, so you can have a relaxing and intimate dining experience. It's a bit of a walk from the nearest Sakaisuji-Honmachi station, around 10 minutes. Even without a reservation, you can start with the "chef's choice" option and go for the five-skewer set. They serve tofu and salad first, followed by chicken skewers, duck meat with ponzu sauce, and quail meatballs. Each skewer is large and cooked to perfection, with a nice tender texture. I've never had such tender chicken skewers before. The main seasoning is salt, allowing you to taste the natural flavors of the ingredients. We also ordered an additional dish of grilled chicken hearts and cream cheese with dried baby sardines. The place has a clean and cozy atmosphere with polite service, and the prices are reasonable. The highball drink goes really well with the food. It's an amazing restaurant that I would join a fan club for if they had one. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I was recommended to this yakitori restaurant and it was great! We ordered a course of skewers and some individual items. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly and everything was delicious! It cost around 8000 yen per person but we were very satisfied. The grilled rice balls we added were also very tasty! The service was excellent as well. I definitely want to go back!

I was interested in the famous charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant Icoka in Sakaisuji Hommachi, Osaka. Today, I visited a yakitori restaurant in Osaka that has been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog. I made a reservation in advance and ordered the chef's choice set of 7 skewers, along with a selection of 4 sashimi dishes. The chef's choice set came with yuba tofu, salad, and chicken soup for only 2800 yen, which was very reasonable. I started with a beer and then enjoyed some cold sake. The dishes I had included: - Yuba tofu with salt - Green salad - Four types of sashimi: marinated chicken breast, chicken breast sushi, chicken thigh sashimi, and chicken liver sashimi - Chicken liver soup Then, I moved on to the yakitori: - Chicken tenderloin: moist and rare, nicely grilled - Chicken tender: very juicy and well-balanced - Chicken oyster: great balance of meat and skin - Chicken meatball: not rare but nicely juicy - Chicken heart: grilled and wrapped around a skewer - Quail egg: rare yolk, alternated with plain and flavored eggs - Chicken breast with grated daikon and ponzu sauce I also ordered additional skewers: - Chicken tail - Chicken liver - Grilled rice ball with sweet sauce The yakitori was delicious, with each skewer carefully grilled to perfection. We had 4 kinds of sashimi, 7 skewers, an additional skewer, and some yam. Today we didn't have a dessert. We had wine and sake, and the delicious yakitori made us want to pair it with wine. I would like to pair the Japanese Muscat Bailey A with the chicken liver.

It comes with soup, salad, and tofu♡♡ First up was the Tataki♥ The chicken thigh tataki was incredibly delicious♬ This is a must-order! The perfect searing made the skin crispy and amazing◡̈♥︎ Next was a sashimi platter with 3 varieties✩ It was decent〜 The yakitori skewers were all juicy and generously portioned♡ Among them, the chicken tail was the best!! The flavor, saltiness, and juiciness were amazing〜 Of course, I ordered more of it〜 For the finale, we had steamed rice and grilled rice balls♡ The steamed rice portion was generous and flavorful throughout, very delicious〜 The grilled rice balls had a nice crispy texture on the outside and a savory soy sauce flavor inside! A counter-only shop. Good prices. Good taste. Good atmosphere. Good staff. Good clientele. Good drinks. Good attention to detail. Good service. Delicious desserts. Never felt rushed for drinks or food! No stress at all from start to finish! It felt like finding a good restaurant after a long time! The inside of the store had only a counter where you could walk around and sit at the counter. The dining experience was at the counter in the back. Unlike other restaurants that open all at once, this place allowed for a relaxed and leisurely meal. The turnover was managed well with time limits. Reservations are required for this restaurant. The food was delicious, and I would like to visit their sister store next time.

The restaurant is located a short walk from any station. It's a favorite place that I almost don't want to tell anyone about. It's a popular spot so it might be difficult to make a reservation. Everything is done very carefully. There is only a counter, and there are also seats behind a curtain, but from the counter seats at the entrance (8 seats), you can see the chef cooking.

A popular yakitori restaurant near Kitahama, right at the edge of Dotonbori. You can see the grilling process well from the corner of the counter. We started with a platter of 4 types of chicken sashimi, seasoned in the unique Kansai style, which was incredibly delicious. The grilling was also done rare, another Kansai specialty. And of course, we added 2 more skewers to the usual 7.
