At the restaurant in Abashiri that I was aiming for, they said, "Did you make a reservation?" and "If you check Facebook, it says there are seats available at the counter." So, I, being busy, headed straight to the station. I'm a worrywart, so I decided to call after getting on the JR train... They didn't answer. I didn't think they were closed, but I thought they were fully booked. I arrived at the restaurant 22 minutes after leaving Abashiri Station, only to find out that they were closed for the day. Why didn't this person think about the possibility of the place being closed before traveling all the way to Abashiri? They pointed to another nearby restaurant and said, "Hey, that place doesn't seem bad either." I didn't really mind. Can this person even be bothered? When I entered, I saw an old lady lounging in front of a long counter with a TV. "Is it okay?" I asked. "Of course," she replied. "Sorry for disturbing you while you relax." "No worries, it's all good," she said. Wait, is she really okay with this? It's funny, but I'm not sure if it's right. We toasted with beer. They served a plate of shredded cabbage, onions, and fried pumpkin for 500 yen, which I didn't quite understand, but later found out it was the price. Well, I feel like I got tricked. I ordered chicken skewers, pork skewers, grilled vegetables, and rice cake bacon. It's expensive, but they only serve three skewers each. The pork skewers were quite thick, which made my blood pressure rise. Well, they taste frozen, but they're delicious. The smell is just about okay. I actually wanted to eat the rice cake bacon, but I've had bad experiences at many places, so I had no expectations. However, based on my standards, the food turned out to be quite normal and tasty. The overall saltiness from the old lady was perfect, and the grilling was done well. They probably use gas for grilling, but they do a good job. We had three rounds of beer, totaling 5,300 yen. I thought it was expensive, but my wife thought it was cheap. It's the same as always.
