I went shopping at Coop Sapporo in Sumikawa and had breakfast here on the way back! This is a smoking allowed restaurant, so I hesitated to go in, but when I peeked in during my visit and saw no other customers, I decided to stop by. The woman in her 50s who was working alone recommended me to use a larger table seat when I sat down at a small table seat. How kind! Breakfast is available from 9am to 11am, with three toast and coffee sets: A - with fried egg (650 yen), B - with fried egg and salad (750 yen), C - hot sandwich (750 yen). I ordered the A set. It was served in about 9 minutes. The toast was crispy on the outside and moist and chewy inside. The fried egg was perfectly half-cooked. Both were delicious! They also brought soy sauce, which I assume is for the fried egg. I obediently poured soy sauce on it, but at home, I prefer Worcestershire sauce on my fried eggs (just some random information). The coffee had a stronger acidity than bitterness, making it refreshing and easy to drink. Inside the store and on the windows outside, there were signs saying "Phantom Almond Ole" all over the place! It seems to be a recommended item, so I would like to try it next time. Thank you, "Maki"!

On a certain weekday, I had planned to go to a restaurant for lunch, but it was closed, so I decided to go to THE Café in Sumikawa 6th Street, Minami Ward. The café has a parking lot for about 2 cars in front of the store, but beyond that, you may need to find parking elsewhere. Inside, the café has a cozy atmosphere with a counter, table seats, and a large collection of manga books. The background music playing is calm piano jazz, and regular customers chat about light topics. From the menu, I was intrigued by the variety of meal options such as Katsudon, Ginger Pork, various curries, fried rice, pasta, udon & soba, bread, and drinks. This time, I decided to try the "Customizable Spaghetti with Coffee Set (900 yen)" where I chose curry to go with the spaghetti instead of the usual Napolitan. Oh, and if you want iced coffee, it's an additional 100 yen. While waiting for the rice to cook, I started with a cup of coffee...hmm, it was prepared in advance and served hot, so no complaints there. After a slight delay, my meal was ready. I took a bite...the noodles were medium thickness and seemed to be lightly mixed with butter before being topped with a slightly spicy curry, which I really liked. Next to it, there were two sunny-side-up eggs with runny yolks, lightly seasoned with soy sauce, which I enjoyed with the curry and rice. The salad was a pre-made cabbage salad with Japanese dressing, and I finished off with miso soup with wakame seaweed and fried tofu. Overall, it was a carb-filled feast and I really enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.

The store is filled with an amazing collection of comic books on the shelves, as well as a desk that looks like a nostalgic Invader game machine. This is a Showa-era cafe where only locals come to enjoy light meals. They even provide matches, which is rare nowadays. The curry set is a taste of home-cooked nostalgia. There is a famous restaurant next door, but this place is amazing in a different way.

Sumikawa, Minami-ku, Sapporo. Opens at 9:00. 2-3 parking spaces in front of the store. Near Soup Curry Kidaro, part 5 of the series (final). Next to the Co-op and Soup Curry Kidaro. There are 2 stationary table games. Manga in the middle of the store. Today's recommendation is the Katsu Curry (890 yen). Rice and miso soup are free refills, and you can get a large serving. The daily special, fried rice with fried egg, also caught my eye. The daily specials are written on a whiteboard inside the store. I didn't notice the island from where I was sitting (realized when leaving). The food arrived soon. Comes with 2 small side dishes (pumpkin and salad) and miso soup. Coffee is also included. The regular curry is 790 yen. The curry itself is 680 yen, so the katsu is 110 yen. The katsu is very thin. The seats at the table game are uncomfortable because there is no legroom. Background music is mood music. The place is quite crowded. They also have katsu meat spaghetti for 790 yen. The coffee is hot, but not very tasty. It's thin. It's 400 yen for just the coffee.

Tom-chan told me to come to this café, and as I made my way there, the phrase "Ito maki maki, Ito maki maki, hiite hiite, tontonton" kept playing in my head. When I entered Kissa Maki, it seemed like a place where regular customers frequented. The interior had four tables for four people, one table for two, one table for solo diners, and about five seats at the counter. The café had a Snoopy theme, with Snoopy decorations all around. There was a shelf in the center of the room filled with manga books, giving the place a manga café vibe. It used to be a game café, as there were retro game consoles set up, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere. Looking at the menu, I didn't have high hopes for udon or soba, but they had the usual café items like toast sets, curry, spaghetti, fried rice, katsudon, omurice, ginger pork, and more. I was drawn to the daily lunch specials, and I chose the handmade croquette and fried chicken wing set. The portions were smaller than average for a café, but the croquette had a buttery flavor with a crispy coating and a nice pumpkin taste. It was simple and delicious, although I thought trying a soy sauce flavor would have been interesting. The fried chicken wings had a unique flavor that intrigued me, with a light sauce and juicy meat. The rice portion was small, perhaps catering to regular customers. The side dish of vinegar-marinated octopus and cucumber was refreshing and tasty. The natto portion was small, but a rare find for lunch, and I was pleased. The shredded cabbage and cucumber with dressing were also in small portions. The miso soup with green onions and seaweed had a good balance of saltiness, giving a sense of eating a Japanese meal. The hot coffee after the meal was a standard café taste. ☆☆☆ Next time, I'm curious about the ginger pork and katsudon...

Welcome! Located along Fukuzumi Kuan-dori, just across from the Seikyo Nishioka, you'll find a small alley lined with trees, leading to Kodaro and Miyabiya Mikkeru. In the middle of it all, there is a manga bookshelf that divides the space between the counter and tables, with tables and game consoles on either side. In the background, you can faintly hear the BGM overlapping with the conversations of the old men. "Welcome~♪" The two mothers are running the show, offering a daily changing menu of three dishes at reasonable prices at the "Hottosando" in hiragana. The handmade korosuke and fried chicken wings with teriyaki sauce, though not explicitly mentioned, are delicious. The teriyaki sauce is lightly sweet and the wings are deep-fried with meat still attached, providing a satisfying meal. The korosuke has a smooth texture and the pumpkin side dish pairs well with the vinegar-pickled cucumbers and vinegar-marinated octopus. The natto portion is small, but when mixed with soy sauce and served on rice, it makes for a good extra meal. The cabbage salad with Japanese dressing is served in a small bowl, not too hot but warm enough. The miso soup is gentle in flavor, with few ingredients. Overall, it's a satisfying meal, and the coasters are stable. Sometimes, sticking to the basics is the way to go. Thank you for the meal.
