I visited Shiraogi restaurant in Kamikawa-cho for lunch. The parking lot in front of the restaurant can fit about 6 cars, and there is also a nearby station where you can park. The restaurant has 4 tables in a raised area and 2 counter seats. It seemed like there were more seats in the back, but they only seemed to be open for lunch. The place was packed and they had to turn away customers. The menu includes set meals, individual items, curry, and sushi. The local pork dishes are recommended. I ordered the Zangi (fried chicken) for 450 yen and a set meal for 320 yen. It took a bit of time for the food to be served due to the full house. The Zangi looked delicious with 5 medium-sized pieces and a slice of lemon. It was fried perfectly. The seasoning was a bit mild, but it would have been great with some mayo. The rice was also tasty. I felt like having a beer with this hot Zangi. I wonder if the other dishes are just as good. I might try the local pork set meal or the pork cutlet curry next time.

Visited on August 25th (Friday) for work in Kamikawa again today. Yesterday, I had delicious ramen, so I quickly searched on Tabelog, but my phone has been acting up a lot lately and freezes frequently. Especially when I'm searching the internet or looking at maps during lunchtime, it often crashes... I think it's time for a new phone. Today, I visited "Japanese Cuisine Shiroogi," which had high ratings aside from ramen. I arrived after lunchtime to avoid the crowd, around 1 pm, and there were quite a few customers already waiting at the counter. It's a popular place!! As for my order, I went with the "Taste Pork Set," which includes roast tonkatsu, roast pork, sweet and sour pork, soup, rice, and it's quite luxurious. And all of this for only 1080 yen, which is surprisingly good value. The meat was delicious without any pork smell. As I've gotten older, I can't eat as much, so I regret not getting half the rice. Thank you for the meal.

This is a recommended restaurant. If you have the chance to go nearby, I would be happy if you could visit it.
- The proprietress: She speaks her mind and has a straightforward personality, truly interesting.
- Menu: Flavorful pork set meal.
- Price: 1080 yen.
- Flavorful pork tonkatsu: Sweet and delicious. Tonkatsu is enjoyed with sauce.
- Flavorful pork with grated wasabi: A superb menu to enjoy with soy sauce. I want to have this as a side dish with alcohol!
- Flavorful pork side dish: A superb menu with a sweet and savory sauce. I can't get enough of this place! I will definitely go again.

This time, after taking customers from Sorachi to see the garden at Asahigaoka Mori in Kamikawa Town, we looked for a Japanese restaurant near the station for lunch. We found a place called "Shiraogi" with Japanese cuisine written on it, and when the two customers went inside to see what was on the menu, an elderly lady who seemed to be the owner said, "Normally we only take reservations, but oh well, please come in." Even though there was no sign outside indicating this, the atmosphere was unpleasant. The young female staff were relatively friendly, but when it came time to pay after finishing the meal, the elderly staff member said, "It's troublesome if you only have large bills," once again creating a negative atmosphere. For the record, I paid with exact change, but my customers were angry, saying "We will never come back." I ordered a simple chirashi sushi and the fish was fresh, but the sushi rice seemed to lack vinegar.

Shirasen, a Japanese restaurant located in the city center of Kamikawa, has a high-class and clean atmosphere. The menu is extensive, offering set meals and more. The must-try dish is the Kamikawa-flavored pork, raised on the mineral water from the heavy snow and Hakucho mochi. The pork set meal includes tonkatsu, sweet and sour pork, and roast pork, all served with wasabi. The Kamikawa-flavored pork is very tender and can be enjoyed in various cooking styles. The ginger steak is also recommended, priced at 310 yen and can be added to a set meal. The rice is delicious and the portion is generous, ensuring you leave feeling satisfied. Please note that the restaurant's operating hours may vary, so it's recommended to check in advance before visiting.

I discovered a hidden gem of a restaurant in Kamikawa Town! It's rare to find a place to eat late at night around here, but this restaurant seems to offer a variety of options, including set meals for around 1,000 yen. Located near Kamikawa Station, right in the town center, the restaurant is new and clean. The menu includes a wide range of dishes like tonkatsu, tempura, sushi, curry, and more. I tried their specialty dish, the "Aji Buta" set meal for 1,050 yen, featuring pork from the local Kamikawa area. The set meal was very generous with pork cutlet, sweet and sour pork, and roast ham, all made from the flavorful Aji Buta pork. The food was delicious and the portions were large, making it a great value for the price. I also tried the ginger steak set meal for an additional 310 yen, which was also tasty. Overall, this restaurant offers high-quality dishes at reasonable prices, making it a hidden gem in Kamikawa Town!

I went to a local restaurant for dinner with my family on the evening I returned home for the summer vacation. The options were limited as the rural shops close early, so we decided to go to Shiraogi for the first time in a long time. In my memory, it's been since I was in junior high. Although it's primarily a Japanese restaurant, I wanted to try dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, so I ordered the "Aji Buta Teishoku" (1050 yen) which uses pork from the Keikoku region. The pigs are fed with glutinous rice. They use different cuts like loin, belly, and back fat for each dish. The set meal includes tonkatsu, sweet and sour pork-style simmered dish, roast pork, soup, and rice. It was a satisfying meal with generous portions. We also had local sake (Otokoyama) which complemented the meal perfectly. I'm thinking of going back next time I visit home (although that will be in a year).
