Since the end of last year, I had been curious about the "Horo-Horo Chicken Curry," but often when I went late, the chicken would be sold out. Finally, I was able to try it. I realized that I shouldn't casually think about going to Sukiya when I pass by. I need to seriously go there. I love soup curry, especially with chicken. I enjoy how the chicken leg easily falls apart with a spoon. And surprisingly, Sukiya's curry roux is delicious. Sukiya's chicken also easily fell apart with a spoon. It was wonderfully tender. The curry seemed to have a spicy and refreshing kick to it, leaning more towards chicken curry than typical curry. Perhaps it was just my imagination. Anyway, the fact that you can enjoy this chicken curry for around 600 yen is truly surprising.

I stopped by "Sukiya 12th Takikawa Higashimachi Store" in Takikawa City for breakfast. I sat down and ordered the "Mixed Breakfast Set 350 yen" from the morning menu. It had been a while since I last visited, and I noticed that now they take orders through tablets. The food was served promptly, and looking at the meal tray, I honestly thought, "This is a good deal for 350 yen." It included rice (regular), beef side dish, soft-boiled egg, okra, miso soup, and bonito flakes. It was a well-balanced and satisfying breakfast. Thank you for the meal. By the way, the payment was also done through a semi-self checkout.

This type of shop that opens early in the morning from August 2021 is very attractive. I ordered the sausage breakfast set with a small side of beef bowl. I was very satisfied with the hearty meal in the morning. The sausages were nicely grilled and delicious, and the beef bowl was easy to eat with little fat.

I ordered the Curry King, which is said to be twice the size of a regular meal at Mega, but if this were at Sukiya in Sapporo, Asahikawa, Tomakomai, or Obihiro, I might have thought it was a good deal for the amount. However, this restaurant is in Takikawa. In Takikawa, there is a place called "Light Meals & Cafe Marine" that is famous for its large portions, so it just seems average in comparison.

I ordered the Gyudon King. The staff said it would take about 10 minutes to be ready, but it came out in about 5 minutes. It was a huge portion with 6 times the normal amount of meat and 2.5 times the rice, but I managed to finish it easily. However, because there was so much meat, towards the end, the bowl was just filled with meat.

I don't usually eat gyudon (beef bowl) on a regular basis, but due to the limited dining options because of COVID, I decided to try this place for the first time as I got off work late. I ordered the gyudon in large size because I prefer the regular taste. It arrived in just 1 minute. It had been a while since I had gyudon, but it was consistently delicious. Sukiya accepts cashless payments and you can earn points, so it's a good deal. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered a regular size of the Pork Belly and Soft-boiled Egg Bowl. It is usually priced at 450 yen, but due to a 70 yen discount for the 1st anniversary sale, it was 380 yen. It also comes with simmered daikon radish, which goes well with the pork belly.

I ordered a regular-sized Oroshi Ponzu Gyudon. The Oroshi Ponzu sauce is served separately, so you can choose to pour it over the beef bowl or eat it as it is.

I ordered the Eggplant Tomato Beef Bowl in regular size. When it was brought to me, the smell of tomatoes was strong. The combination of eggplant and tomatoes alone could make a good rice bowl dish, but with beef added, it becomes a luxurious meal.

In the early morning, I drove to Ebetsu and had breakfast at a Sukiya in Takikawa. It has been a while since my last update. Unfortunately, my blog's storage is full, so I can't upload photos. I am deleting old posts to make space for new ones. It's a bit of a hassle, and I'm considering moving my blog. For now, I will continue to update sporadically while deleting old posts. On August 19th (Saturday), I left early in the morning by car to head to the Hokkaido Nopporo Sports Park in Ebetsu. Along the way, I had breakfast at a Sukiya in Takikawa. It's hard to tell which Sukiya it was just by looking at the photos. I'm glad they serve set meals early in the morning. While convenience store rice balls and bento are options, nothing beats a warm meal with rice and miso soup. I had the Tamakake Salmon Breakfast for 390 yen. I don't eat Tamago Kake Gohan (raw egg over rice) at home much these days, but it's delicious when I do. The purpose of this trip was to attend a training session to become a referee for the Paralympic official event "Boccia". Despite the early morning and tired eyes from driving, I listened attentively to the lectures in the morning. To be continued...

When going on a long-distance drive, we departed early in the morning and had breakfast here. It was a delightful Japanese breakfast of grilled salmon set. The chain restaurant Yoshinoya offers a variety of breakfast menus at reasonable prices. Upon entering and sitting at the counter, I noticed an eel menu. It seems like it's eel season soon. However, I wasn't in the mood for eel early in the morning. I enjoyed the salmon and finished with a bowl of rice topped with raw egg. If I were to be extravagant, I would have liked a salad included as well. (I could have ordered it separately though)

I came to Sukiya for a quick meal. It is located on the main street of Takikawa, right? I usually go for the extra-large beef bowl, but today I chose the regular size for a change. Sukiya serves their food on a tray, which is convenient. Unfortunately, the beef was overcooked and salty this time. It was a bit disappointing. The service and cost performance were good though. I hope for a better experience next time. Thank you for the meal.

It had been a while since I visited the Sukiya restaurant in Takikawa with my family for lunch. As soon as we entered, we sat at a four-person table. However, we noticed that the water we usually get right away did not arrive for a long time. The water only came when our food was brought to the table after we placed our order.

It may be Sukiyaki if you want to keep the cost down as it is deployed nationwide. However, at the Sukiyaki in Takikawa, the Kokumiso Vegetable Gyudon was quickly prepared but the vegetables came raw. It arrived quickly but was lukewarm. It was disappointing enough to leave. I also ordered curry, but it was lukewarm. The customer service was also disappointing. The staff did not explain the menu to customers who didn't understand, and when asked how much the special size would be, they said they didn't know. I ordered water, but it never came until the bill was settled. I hope things will improve.

A shop that is greatly appreciated for takeout by people living in Sakkawa City! It's only a 10-minute drive from Sakkawa, so it's very convenient! Sakkawa doesn't have many good chain restaurants since Gyoza no Osho closed down two years ago. I would be happy if there was a Sukiya in Sakkawa City too!!
