About 30 minutes by car from Asahiyama Zoo. It's a nice little stop on the way to Biei or Furano from Asahikawa. Originally from Maruyama in Sapporo. Every day, I've been eating so much in Hokkaido that my stomach is screaming, but can we take a break with some okayu (rice porridge)? No, we can't take a break. Let's eat!! I re-energize and add side dishes to the main Chinese porridge. This was a great choice. Chewy. Is that the theme of this restaurant? Soft yet firm elasticity. The richness of the Chinese porridge is filled with moisture and the natural sweetness of the rice overflows. The set water dumplings, as well as the homemade shumai, have a delightful texture. The soup with fish balls made from Rausu kelp broth is gentle. I never expected to feel so happy. The tea costs 1,500 yen. I hesitated before eating, but if it's this delicious, I might regret not drinking it. I had it with Marar Kao and Wuyi Rock Tea. There were too many items on the menu, and I couldn't decide which one to choose, so I asked the staff for recommendations. Two. The ones in the photo. They prepared child-friendly cups for each person. They kept bringing out more and more tea. I alternated between the two and eventually couldn't tell which was which. I could taste the difference, but I honestly couldn't tell the price difference. Still, 1,500 yen seemed reasonable. It felt like I had been treated to so much tea. It would have been even more delicious if I had drunk it with a meal. I hope you don't skimp on ordering what you want and enjoy eating at this restaurant. Oh, writing about it makes me want to eat there again. Lastly, before going to Asahikawa, I searched through Blue Blue 34's reviews on MyLevi and found them very helpful. Thank you so much.

I had a set of black bean porridge and water dumplings, as well as sticky rice dumplings. Of course, I also had tea. The porridge and dumplings had a gentle flavor that I couldn't help but finish. On my way home, I also got Marrage cake and pineapple cake as a dessert for myself. I hope to be able to go on a delicious trip to Taiwan soon.

I heard that the tea tastes even better because you can get high-quality water, so I decided to visit this place. The owner trained in Tokyo, opened a shop in Sapporo, and moved to Asahikawa in search of delicious water. They mainly serve Chinese Wuyi Mountain oolong tea, a world heritage site. Although it may seem expensive at first, the tea is really worth it and is only available in a few places in Japan. The shop is known for brewing tea the best, thanks to the quality of the water. The pork buns and vegetable buns are very delicious. They use domestically produced wheat and local ingredients for the buns, supporting local production and consumption. They also have flower rolls and seasonal steamed buns. They offer delivery to other regions, but since everything is handmade, it's better to avoid ordering in large quantities at once. My top recommendation is the soy milk and oil sticks, they are incredibly delicious. The shop is located between Asahikawa City and Asahikawa Airport, so if you have the chance, why not drop by and check it out?

I woke up early and went in search of a delicious breakfast. The atmosphere of the restaurant was rustic, with a lodge-like feel and a view of the fields from the window. Surrounded by nature, the simple and natural ambiance put me in a peaceful mood. The food I had included: - Porridge: The creamy porridge was comforting and satisfying. It was delicious on its own, but with a variety of unique seasonings to choose from, I could enjoy it without getting bored until the last bite. - Wuyi Rock Tea: It was my first time trying this tea, and I found it fascinating how the flavor changed with different steeping times. I could savor the aroma, richness, and a hint of bitterness slowly. In summary, both the porridge and tea reminded me of "living mindfully." It was a quiet, warming meal that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Last January, this shop relocated from Sapporo's Maruyama to Higashikawa. I wanted to try their "okayu" for the first time, so I visited. Beyond Higashikawa's Michi-no-Eki, continue on Route 1160. Surrounded by nature, the cozy shop has a wood-burning stove. I ordered the monthly special "sweet potato okayu" with handmade water dumplings. The okayu, made with Higashikawa rice and natural spring water, is seasoned only with salt. It has a sticky texture and a sweet taste that pairs well with the sweet potato. Served with pickled vegetables, century egg, and fermented tofu, each bite is enjoyable. The fermented tofu was especially delicious. The water dumplings have a chewy skin and juicy filling. After the meal, I ordered the "Ma La Gao" steamed buns and hot ginger drink. The steamed buns come in plain and brown sugar flavors, both with a soft and slightly sweet taste. The hot ginger drink, made with organic ginger from Kochi, has a pleasant spiciness. A meal with a gentle, natural flavor that seems good for the body!

It seems that a shop that used to be in Maruyama, Sapporo, has moved to Higashikawa. In the past, there was a shop called Lera, which was an egg shop. I don't usually eat porridge, especially Chinese congee, but they also have dim sum, so I decided to visit here. The shop seems to have expanded since the Lera days, with a larger number of seats. There were quite a few cars parked outside, but we were seated right away without having to wait. My husband came for the porridge, so he ordered the Chinese congee and water dumplings set. I was in the mood for something different from shumai or dumplings, so I chose steamed buns and pepper buns. I also selected lapsang souchong tea. The tea is a unique tea that is smoked, and they keep refilling the pot with hot water so you can enjoy it multiple times. This is a Chinese-style service. The lapsang souchong tea that came out first was shared with my husband's jinxuan tea, and we were provided with small cups to drink from. The porridge was also shared with me, and it came with century egg, pickled mustard greens, and fermented tofu, allowing for different flavors. The tofu was like a miso-marinated tofu with a unique taste. It had a slightly spicy kick and added flavor to the dish. The steamed buns and pepper buns arrived next. The steamed buns had a sweet red bean paste with sesame and walnuts. The skin was chewy and delicious. The pepper buns were like meat buns sprinkled with white sesame seeds and baked. The combination of pepper and chives made it a substantial snack. On the way back, we took home some pineapple cakes and ma la gao. The homemade ma la gao was moist and flavorful, and the pineapple cakes were much tastier than the typical Taiwanese souvenirs. Overall, it's a leisurely place where time seems to pass slowly. There were a fair number of customers, so we had to wait a bit, but the staff were very apologetic and courteous, even though we didn't feel inconvenienced at all. It was a nice touch to receive such attentive service. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a series about developing Tokawa. (That's news to me) You're a transfer too, came alone. I just wanted to eat some plain rice porridge. It's located in the outskirts, but the atmosphere, harmony, and blending in are amazing. The restaurant itself becomes its own world. The entrance is welcoming, and you're greeted with a smile. You order what you see in the pictures and wait. The water is delicious. This is Tokawa, representing the food of this whole area. The rice porridge arrives. I take a bite of the rice and feel a warm sensation. It's like comforting a tired heart. If no one was here, I might cry. That's how gentle the taste is. I want to eat the rice porridge again, but also, I want to come here for tea. No words needed, just want to relax. I feel like I could spend a leisurely time here, letting time drift through my mind. Thank you, I'll come back again.

I visited the restaurant early in the morning. It has a great view from the window. It seems that the couple, originally from Niigata and Saitama, searched for a place with a good view when they relocated from Sapporo. They seem to have chosen this place with great care. The soy milk is freshly squeezed in the morning. The youtiao reminded me of my days in Taiwan. I would like to try the tea and pudding from the signboard next time.

This used to be a very popular omurice restaurant, but now it has become a popular Chinese restaurant. It serves very authentic Chinese cuisine! The owner originally ran a business in Sapporo, but now seems to have relocated to Higashikawa. Having lived in China as well, it's no wonder the food is so authentic!

Sometimes, when I don't have indigestion but feel like eating something gentle on my stomach, I come here. The porridge here is cooked just right and tastes very soothing. The side dishes complement it well, and I feel comforted after eating here. My stomach also seems happy. Even though porridge is just rice and water, it's quite expensive.

I had congee and water dumplings. The skin of the water dumplings was chewy, changing my previous impression of water dumplings. I am grateful that Taiwanese street food can be eaten so elegantly.

The dumplings were delicious. I chose from a variety of Chinese teas and enjoyed them with congee. The dumplings here were very tasty. However, if you go when you're hungry, it might not be enough. You can't make a reservation, so if it's crowded, you'll have to wait in line.

・Jiro-style ramen (salty flavor) The combination of sesame and (probably) good salt is gentle on the stomach, making it a nice choice for a slightly delayed lunch. ・Chinese rice porridge and water dumplings set Topped with finely chopped century egg and zha cai. Also gentle on the stomach. The rice porridge has a thick and creamy texture with some rice grains left intact. The water dumplings seem to be homemade with thick skins, similar to the ones you would find in China. ・Tea Enjoying a leisurely cup of tea in front of the rice fields puts you in a rich mood. The atmosphere is cozy. If it's not inconvenient, I would want to stay longer during less crowded times, enjoying that scenery and tea.
