It's been a while since my last visit, which was on 12/22/2017. Last time I had the tempura soba, but this time I tried the eel set meal. The restaurant "Shunki Hidaka" is currently rated 3.28 as of 08/03/2022. The meal was a luxurious set including eel over rice, sashimi, small side dishes, chawanmushi, liver sashimi, pickles, and tea. I had been in the hospital and could only eat porridge, but now that I'm discharged, I chose this eel set meal to boost my energy. It was the most delicious eel I've ever had. Thank you for the feast! I will definitely visit "Shunki Hidaka" again!

I visited "Shunki Hidaka" after hearing rumors of its delicious food. It is located right next to Goryokaku Park, and there were plenty of parking spaces available. Since I was on a tour, we visited by car and ordered two servings of Ten Soba, as we didn't have much time. There were many other menu options available, but we opted for something quick. The contents vary depending on the season. It included sashimi, tempura, fried foods, chawanmushi, bamboo shoot rice, and clear soup. The bamboo shoot rice was cooked in a rice cooker and the clear soup was in a pot, which was nice and warm. For the second party, we ordered a sashimi assortment and hors d'oeuvres. Unfortunately, I made a mistake by not confirming if the orange juice was 100% juice, and it turned out to be too sweet for me. The lunch set was priced at 1575 yen, and it included various dishes like spicy cod roe potato, sashimi platter, pickles, bamboo shoot rice, grilled pork and spring vegetable salad, bamboo shoot salad, steamed egg custard, clear soup, cherry blossom shrimp soba, and complimentary coffee. The food was delicious, and the service was prompt. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience, and I would consider visiting again in the future. The eel is farmed in Kagoshima, but the heat source is unknown. It took 10 minutes from ordering to being served. The portion was on the smaller side, but the eel was thick and had a good amount of fat. The steaming and grilling were both moderate, with a good balance of flavor. There were no small bones or unpleasant smells. The sauce was of medium thickness, with a nice level of sweetness that didn't overpower the eel. The amount of rice was average, and it was cooked and seasoned just right. It also came with pickles, a side dish, and eel liver soup. The taste was good, so even if the price is slightly raised, it would be on par with a specialty store for a full portion.

So, I didn't get drunk this time. As for the food, it was simply delicious. The sashimi was fresh, and the karaage was a bit over-fried. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.
