I really want to eat sushi. When that happens, it's great to be in Hokkaido. If you just go a little, there are plenty of delicious conveyor belt sushi restaurants. But, the good ones are always crowded. So, you have to wait... and that's something I don't like. Waiting... I really want to go to the other sushi restaurant in Asahikawa. But, there will definitely be a line. Here, the wait time is relatively short. So, even though it's a bit far, I came all the way here. And lucky me! Today, there was no wait time. Oh, sometimes things like this happen. It's a late autumn taste festival! But, they were selling out quickly. Oh, I see, I arrived a little late. It was the time for the turnover. That's why I was able to get in smoothly. So, it seems like they're selling out quickly. Maybe there won't be any more sushi going around. Is sushi not going around anymore? It's a bit sad. Only the crane is spinning. And above it, the recommended sign is spinning round and round... Eventually, they might stop it for saving electricity, but at least I hope the conveyor belt keeps moving. Touch Panel Recently, conveyor belt sushi places have been increasing the use of touch panels. It's accurate, and you can quickly see if something is sold out. But, for an old guy like me, ordering on paper is easier. However, being able to choose the amount of rice, with or without wasabi, is convenient, so I guess touch panels are useful. Korean Seaweed Snack Sushi What's Korean about it? The ingredients are negitoro, tobiko, ikura... there's no Korean element anywhere. But! Actually, the seaweed is Korean seaweed. With just a slight difference, the taste changes. It's actually quite delicious. Roasted Soy Sauce Three Pieces Salmon, Tuna Belly, Engawa. When you roast them a bit, you can really feel the fat. And then, the aroma of soy sauce. Ah, once again, the quality of conveyor belt sushi has improved. Fatty Tuna Salmon Nationwide popular salmon. It's so fatty and delicious. The feeling of melting on the tongue is great, right? Personally, I like salmon more than tuna. Whale Bacon Gunkan A festival menu choice. I used to eat whale bacon as a snack when I was a child. And even a bigger piece... That's why my body has grown as big as a whale, not because of eating it. Hokkaido Five Piece Assortment I sometimes order this when I come here. This plate shaped like Hokkaido makes me happy. I wonder if this plate is a custom order. The contents are silver salmon, ikura, saury, bluefin tuna red meat, scallop. It feels like a Hokkaido assortment. If you don't order this, you won't be considered a visitor. Grilled Squid with Yuzu Salt I love squid. Eating it with salt is also delicious. And on top of that, the taste of yuzu. Ah, it's the best. The salt enhances the sweetness of the squid. A drop, two drops, it's also good with soy sauce. White Fish Three Pieces Freshly caught red sea bream, flounder, karei. My favorite is white fish. It's nice to have different varieties on each piece. This is also delicious with salt. Of course, it's also delicious with soy sauce. Oh, I should have ordered two plates and enjoyed both flavors. Mini Ikura Gunkan Half the size of the usual one. Four pieces come, but it's two rolls' worth. It's an easy size for children to eat. And for adults, it's also good to share with a few people when you just want a little bit. There were also other types of mini gunkan available. Fried Oyster Fried oysters are my favorite. But, I don't eat them often on sushi. This time, it was probably my umpteenth time eating fried oyster sushi. However... the unique taste of oysters lingers in your mouth and chest. But still, it might be better to eat them as a single dish rather than on sushi. Sea Urchin Wrapped in Seaweed When in Hokkaido, you're really blessed with the opportunity to eat delicious sea urchin. If you eat saltwater sea urchin, even people who don't like sea urchin might be able to eat it. But, I don't usually order it at conveyor belt sushi places. I feel like I can't expect much. It's been a while since I ordered it, but it's still a bit discolored. Sea Urchin Haters...
