《March 2023 First Visit》In the roadside shopping area in the golden area of Ebetsu City, there is a specialty fried chicken shop, I think it was called "Across Plaza"? It is located on the south side of a corner in that area. They offer both eat-in and take-out options, but they seem to focus more on take-out. The main item on the eat-in menu is the "Original Teishoku", which is a 390 yen "Teishoku Set" that comes with your choice of fried chicken in any quantity. The Teishoku Set includes rice, miso soup, and a half-cooked egg called "King Egg" with mayonnaise used for seasoning. The order slip also lists "Salad", which is actually shredded cabbage on the fried chicken plate, but calling it a "salad" is a bit questionable. You can choose from small, medium, large, or king sizes for the rice at the same price, and this time I chose a medium size. By the way, is the king size a special serving? For the fried chicken, I ordered two pieces of soy sauce koji-flavored thigh meat and two pieces of salt koji-flavored breast meat, totaling four pieces. After a short wait, the dishes arrived, and wow, they look quite impressive. The fried chicken is well-cooked and visually appealing. I started with the breast meat, which is lean and has a mild flavor with no unpleasant odor. The first bite is as is, and the second bite with mayonnaise is really delicious. Next, I tried the thigh meat in the same way, and it is quite juicy with a strong flavor due to the soy sauce koji. But why did they decide to include the king egg? Well, the taste is good, and it's not that it doesn't go well with the fried chicken, but why a whole boiled egg... One thing that bothered me was the container with mayonnaise in it, as it made it difficult to dip the fried chicken, so it might be better to have a small dish instead. Additionally, besides the regular mayonnaise, you can choose from miso, soy sauce, or honey flavors, and you can also switch to tartar sauce. For those who don't want mayonnaise, you can switch to lemon wedges, but without mayonnaise, you'll have to eat the shredded cabbage plain. Honestly, this teishoku is quite good. For 130 yen per piece of fried chicken, the quality is decent, the meat is not bad, and it's quite juicy thanks to the koji. The frying level is also to my liking. In addition to thigh and breast meat, you can also choose neck meat or minced meat, and although chicken wings were listed on the order slip, they seemed to be out of stock that day. I would like to revisit and try other parts in the future.==============================◇ 910 yen (Teishoku Set 390 yen / Thigh Soy Sauce Koji 130 yen x 2 / Breast Salt Koji 130 yen x 2)
