The rice here is warm and fluffy, and the fish is fresh. It's cheap, delicious, and the best. Today, I ate a lot before coming here, so I had 27 plates and called it quits.

Recently, it feels like we always end up coming here when we visit Takigawa. My child loves sushi, so it's a good option because we can try a variety of options and end up not wasting any. We didn't have to wait long this time, as we were seated right after checking in. Today, my child had grilled salmon, salmon, tuna, avocado shrimp (I think), and warabi mochi. I had the delicious oysters that I always order, the must-have chawanmushi, and I tried the refreshing lemon ramen, which was surprisingly tasty. After a long time, I went back to my hometown and visited a sushi restaurant called "Uobei" near my parents' house. It was popular locally, so I was looking forward to it. The sushi pieces were a bit small and the rice portions were also small, but it was perfect for those who want to try various types of sushi. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely go back again.

I love Kaitenzushi (conveyor belt sushi) restaurants. They never disappoint with their consistent taste and service nationwide. Although I don't eat much shad in Hokkaido, I personally love it. Kaitenzushi always has shad available year-round, so I can enjoy it without worries. And it's only 108 yen! Of course, I avoid eating sea urchin and mantis shrimp at conveyor belt sushi restaurants because their flavors tend to be compromised. The key to satisfaction at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant is to decide in advance what you want to eat. My go-to choices at Kaitenzushi are shad, tuna, shrimp, squid, and seaweed rolls. For soup, I highly recommend the clam ramen. The chewy noodles made with plenty of water surprisingly taste great, and the soup is full of clam and shellfish flavors. It's a dish where you can fully enjoy the taste of clams straight up.

January 2nd. While on our way back from visiting family, most restaurants were closed for the New Year holiday. Our usual lunch spot in Takikawa City, a soba shop followed by a takoyaki stand, was probably not an option this time. So, I searched on Tabelog and found a Kaiten sushi restaurant called "Uobei"! We didn't have much time as we needed to visit relatives, so we input the address into the car navigation system and headed straight there. The interior was shiny and new, and we arrived just before 2pm to find the place half full. It seemed like mostly families were dining there, probably due to the New Year. The sushi didn't rotate on a conveyor belt like I expected, instead, the orders were delivered to each table on a mini Shinkansen train. It was a unique and efficient system. We quickly placed our orders and the food arrived promptly. The quality of the sushi was consistent with what we usually get at Uobei. My husband, who insisted on ordering miso ramen despite our limited time, was surprised when it arrived on the high-speed lane. It was a bit of a rush, but overall, it was a good experience. We'll definitely consider coming back next New Year when we're in need of a quick lunch spot!
