I ordered a bowl of soy sauce ramen with 1.5 servings of noodles, which is the "express" size. The soup had fried ground meat in it, adding a delicious aroma and satisfying flavor. I was happy to find three slices of chashu in the bowl. The seasoned bamboo shoots were light and refreshing, and the noodles were smooth and chewy. Eating this bowl while looking out the window of the train was simply wonderful.

Having lunch on a Blue Train. It's a restaurant made from renovated old Japanese National Railways train cars. So, I am currently inside a train. The driver's seat is the kitchen, and an elderly couple are the attendants. I just hopped on board spontaneously. Inside the train, there are old Japanese National Railways signs and photos, making it feel like a museum. As time passes, it becomes a more valuable historical place. I can't ride for free, so I order ramen. The menu shows 1 portion for regular, 1.5 for express, and 2 for limited express. I'm not in a hurry, so I go with the express. Still, it costs in the 600 yen range. Seriously? It's a historical ramen shop, but the pork broth soy sauce flavor is innovative. It's just delicious. Good vacation. I wish they could take me away for a while. Thank you for the meal.

The first Hakodate salt ramen I ate was from Matsuraku, which closed down a while ago. After that, many longstanding ramen shops I loved, like Seiryuken, also closed down. Shiyoken is still doing its best, but it's disappointing. Today, I stayed in Yunokawa and finally tried the salt ramen at the Blue Train that I had been curious about. The shop is run by an elderly couple and is named after the blue train. I had the Express (1.5 servings) while my companion had the Regular. The soup has a gentle Hakodate flavor. The chashu is the nostalgic type. The noodles are thicker and have more water content compared to typical Hakodate noodles. The prices are also reasonable for Hakodate. The customers were mostly locals. It would be great if there were someone to take over the shop in the future...

Normal Ramen (Salt) Hokkaido Ramen Expedition 2022! This is a shop established in 1985 near Yunokawa Onsen, where a real passenger car has been renovated and is in operation as a Blue Train. I arrived at the shop around 3 pm. There is a parking lot next to the store. The interior of the store has been transformed to resemble a train. I looked at the menu and ordered the Normal Ramen (Salt) for 590 yen. The ramen arrived. The noodles are medium-thin straight noodles. They are delicious and slippery. The soup is Hakodate salt ramen. Clear broth with fried lard floating on top. The sharp saltiness of the sauce ties it all together, and although there isn't much depth of flavor, it has a good pulling power. It's a delicious soup. The toppings include chashu and menma. This nostalgic ramen in this unique train-like interior is a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts and train fans alike, don't you think? Thank you for the meal.

This is a ramen shop located along the street of the Yunokawa tram, named after the Blue Train, which is shaped like a blue train. I had the regular soy sauce ramen for 540 yen, which was cheap. The ramen is characterized by burnt garlic chips. It is not a novelty, but a ramen that gives a strong sense of nostalgia, and there are many regular customers.

I suddenly felt like eating ramen from Blue Train, so I visited the restaurant. I ordered the bean sprout soy sauce ramen. It was light yet had just the right amount of fat to stimulate my appetite. The flavor of the noodles was not overpowering, and it paired well with the soup. Every time I come here, I not only enjoy the taste but also the great atmosphere created by the owner and his wife. It's more like wanting to visit to see the couple rather than just craving ramen. I will definitely come back again! Thank you for the delicious ramen and smiles today! Thank you for the meal!

When I returned to my hometown, I went to the Blue Train, which I have been visiting since I was young. Hakodate is famous for its salt ramen, but personally, I prefer soy sauce ramen. The taste is light yet rich, and a regular serving is not enough even for women. It's a ramen that I want to eat every day. And the taste is never boring even if you eat it every day.

At "Blue Train" in Hakodate City, the regular salt ramen costs 540 yen. The menu is named after train types: if you get 2 servings of noodles, it's called "Limited Express", 1.5 servings is "Express", and 1 serving is "Local". The soup has fried lard floating on top, giving it a soy sauce-like appearance but it tastes salty. The soup is flavorful with a clear taste of sauce and oil. The noodles are medium-thick and curly with a simple texture. Toppings include green onions, bamboo shoots, and chashu pork. The ramen itself is nothing special, but the experience of eating it in this atmosphere is what makes this place special. It was a good experience. ★Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ramenbukun ★Twitter https://twitter.com/ra_men_tabi
At the bottom of the bowl, there seems to be some writing... When you finish drinking it...

I stopped by while visiting Yunokawa Onsen. I like the quaint atmosphere here and have been to Yunokawa several times already. I couldn't decide between miso, salt, or soy sauce ramen, but according to the owner, the most popular choice is the soy sauce ramen (540 yen). The price has apparently remained the same for decades. The ramen was delicious, especially the burnt back fat. The only downside was that the chashu was slightly gamey.

The ramen was delicious, but what stood out the most was the great atmosphere created by the owner.

Located near Watanabe Hospital in the city, near the entrance to Yunokawa Onsen town, there is a ramen shop called Blue Train. As the name suggests, the interior of the shop is renovated to resemble a train car, with only counter seats available. It has been around for a long time. It is even famous as a PokéStop in Pokémon GO. The main selling point here is the affordability. You can have a soy sauce ramen for only 540 yen. When you enter the shop, you will see regular customers chatting with the owner. It is a sign that the locals love this place. I decided to go with the safe choice of soy sauce ramen. The ramen comes with 3 slices of chashu, menma, green onions, and crispy burnt lard chips on top. Despite that, it is not heavy at all, and you can enjoy the soft texture of the noodles and the gentle flavor of the soup until the end. I finished every drop of the soup, thank you for the meal. Affordable and casual, this kind of ramen shop is also great, isn't it?

We decided to go for lunch as a family and chose a ramen shop nearby that is actually set up inside a real train car. It seems to be popular not only among train enthusiasts but also among tourists. Today, we ordered the Moyashi (bean sprout) Tsuyukawa Ramen in soy sauce flavor and the Keizan Ramen in miso flavor. Both were decent, but personally, I prefer the soy sauce ramen. However, as mentioned by others, the noodles were quite soft even though we asked for them to be firmer. They were still a bit too soft for my liking. Thank you for the meal.

Blue Train in Yunokawa, it's been a while since I visited. I've been coming here for over 20 years. The best thing about this place is definitely the value for money. A special express ramen (with 2 servings of noodles) costs just over 600 yen. It's great value like Yamaokaya. I always go for the soy sauce special express here. The noodles are medium thickness with a slight curl. The soup is light with burnt back fat added. Actually, ramen with burnt back fat is, if my memory serves me right, my oldest memory of ramen, from a department store in Hakodate over 30 years ago. I loved that ramen. Then that place closed down, and the next was Shinmame in the basement of Wakou Department Store in front of Hakodate Station. They also had burnt back fat in their soup. But that closed down too, leaving only Blue Train and Kokaen in Yamanote for me to choose from. So, I ended up coming to Blue Train. However, about 10 years ago, I started working in Sapporo and my brain was completely filled in. So, when I ate here again after a long time, I felt like it was too light.

It was delicious! Located very close to the Yunokawa Onsen area. I thought it was a trendy, stylish concept restaurant, but it turned out to be a local shop run by an older couple. The soup had a salty flavor with a wonderful aroma of burnt back fat.
