This is a bakery in Abashiri. Come to think of it, there seems to be only one bakery in Abashiri that I have reviewed. And it was the one that Yome-san brought back. Local bakeries have a high threshold, so I'm starting to feel a bit hesitant, but I might give it a try. It's in the Shiomichi district, a residential area where nothing seems to last long. There used to be a supermarket there. My second daughter was once suspected of shoplifting and had her school bag thoroughly searched. She was in first grade at the time and was with her friend Basama. In the end, nothing was found, and it was just a misunderstanding. My daughter was just bewildered, but Basama was really angry. However, the other lady never apologized. My wife got really worked up when she heard about it and stormed out of the house. She caused a scene in the store with great anger. I was also really mad, but ended up having to calm things down... What a mess. Anyway, back to the bakery. It's called "Daniel Du Noh." It's been around for quite a while, and it's a nice-looking shop. I've never been inside. I bought a "Bean Bread" and a "Cream Danish," if I remember correctly. The lady at the shop didn't smile. Well, she should, it would be nice if she did. She probably doesn't find it funny. I understand how she feels because if someone buys your bread without knowing where it came from, it's not a good feeling. If it's not delicious, they won't come back. Please spare me. The "Bean Bread" doesn't look appetizing, and it doesn't seem moist or fluffy. Trying it out... The beans are hard, and there's not much of them. The bread itself is not my favorite type. Huh? This kind of old-fashioned bread won't cut it these days. The "Cream Danish" was a letdown after the "Bean Bread." Although it looked delicious, I even doubted my initial assessment. Well, I have to eat it to write about it, so here goes. The dough is moist and you can taste the salt. It's not very sweet. The whipped cream inside, which is not overly sweet, complements the dough that has a salty taste. They get along well! This was really delicious. It seems this bakery has its strengths and weaknesses. They also sell cakes, and although the cakes didn't look appetizing, the bread that leans more towards a cake-like style might be their specialty.
