JGC Series 85 Store Name is Elegant☆ They handle high-quality food products from Hokkaido. While you can find some products in other stores, the items bearing this store's name are exclusive. Additionally, since it is located within a restricted area, only people taking flights can purchase them. I, however, bought them while experimenting and returning to Hokkaido. I tried two popular and representative items, and they were of significantly high quality. Although there are many stores in Hokkaido selling delicious sweets, these products were on par with the best. Those who buy them and take them home to mainland Japan will surely be pleased. At the back of the boarding gate at Chitose Airport, there is a first-class souvenir shop called First Hokkaido, which offers a variety of exclusive products. According to the staff, they only sell items that can't be found elsewhere. One of their top products is the Berry Crunch, coated with white chocolate and filled with crunchy bits and dried berries. It was okay, but not as amazing as expected. I'll try to discover other items next time.

I tried the Berry Crunch here, which is said to be particularly popular. The crispy texture is nice, and the balance between the sourness of the berries and the sweetness of the chocolate is excellent. It seems like a great souvenir that would be appreciated by others, so I would like to purchase it again.

This Baumkuchen is incredibly moist and fluffy, it just melts in your mouth smoothly as it goes down your throat. It's as soft as silk and has a touch of luxury. Very easy to eat and has a certain high-class feel to it.

Next to the shop where I had breakfast, there was another shop that caught my eye, so I decided to take a quick look and bought a small bag of "White Quintet" for a taste test. Now, let's try it. The cookie is crispy with a subtle sweetness, sandwiched with white chocolate that is quite sweet. It's similar to a popular snack in some way. I tried the "White Quintet" this time, and I'm considering whether to give it as a souvenir to people from outside the region.

The last shop before leaving Hokkaido was a stylish souvenir shop located right after passing through the JAL security checkpoint. I decided to buy some souvenirs for my family here! I got the Berry Crunch, a cylindrical crispy chocolate snack with a berry flavor. The packaging was very stylish and I think my family will be happy with it. If you ever fly with JAL, I recommend checking out this shop. Personally, I feel like ANA has more shops than JAL, but this shop was a good find. It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

After passing through the security inspection area for domestic flights, there is a shop in the boarding waiting room. I particularly like the White Quintet, a langues de chat sandwiched with white chocolate and cheese cream, and the NORTHLAND CRACKER NORZA, a rice cracker mixed with corn and tomato juice. Whenever I fly from Chitose, I always buy souvenirs here. Last time, I only bought souvenirs because I thought I could buy for myself later through online shopping, but I couldn't find it online no matter how hard I looked. So this time, I bought both souvenirs and some for myself. If they had online shopping, I would definitely repeat purchase for myself. Maybe the fact that you can only buy it here is also part of its appeal. But I still hope they make it available nationwide. (laughs)

I flew from New Chitose Airport to Tokyo using Jetstar to cut costs, and near the boarding gate, I found a stylish souvenir shop that didn't seem typical of Hokkaido. It was a limited edition souvenir shop at New Chitose Airport. I always struggle with choosing souvenirs because I don't want to buy something that doesn't taste good, which limits my options. But this shop had original, tasteful products with stylish packaging. It was perfect for souvenirs. Even though I bought it as a souvenir, I tried one to write a review on Tabelog. The taste was quite good. I think it will make a nice and tasteful souvenir.

I used JAL miles for my flight, so the airplane fare was free round trip, and I rented a fully furnished one-room apartment for 3 nights and 4 days for only 10,000 yen, which was very comfortable and cheap. However, I ended up spending over 10,000 yen just on souvenirs, which was silly of me (laughs). Nevertheless, I discovered the shocking fact that this store is limited to the boarding gates at New Chitose Airport (laughs), and being weak to limited edition items, I couldn't help but buy something. The shop offers relatively reasonably priced chocolates and baked goods. I bought individually wrapped chocolates. They are quite delicious and creamy, easy to eat. It's not the level of "exceptionally delicious" or "definitely must buy" in my personal opinion, but it's convenient to have this place when you forget to buy souvenirs or want snacks on the plane. Also, the packaging of the chocolates heavily promotes Hokkaido, so even if you're not familiar with sweets, you can show off that you've been to Hokkaido (laughs). At New Chitose Airport, I was looking for something fun to do in the limited time I had while being swept away by the waves of tourists on the 2nd floor shops. The famous souvenir items from well-known shops were being aggressively promoted by mannequins, but as a local, they didn't seem very exciting to me. However, the familiar sweets were safe and delicious, and would surely make people happy. I managed to get a few items as souvenirs, but felt a bit unsatisfied, so I headed to the boarding gate as time was running out. As usual, setting off the metal detector gate while waiting in the boarding lounge, I discovered this shop: a PB shop at New Chitose Airport that was born with the concept of delivering a luxurious time and space like a first-class experience. This shop, which opened in the summer of 2017, offers unique sweets that are only available here, thanks to the collaboration of three local confectionery makers. It's an interesting attempt to offer something that can only be purchased in the boarding lounge. As soon as I entered the shop, the staff offered me a sample, and I ended up buying the "Berry Crunch 8 pieces." It's a chocolate crunch made with cranberries, blueberries, and strawberries, and covered in white chocolate. It was absolutely delicious. The crunchy texture was great, and the sweet and sour berries with the white chocolate created a sophisticated flavor. It's easy to eat in one bite, but once you try it, you won't be able to stop. This concept is really nice. You can choose souvenirs until just before departure, and the convenience of the boarding lounge is well utilized. As a passenger, it's very helpful, and it also has a sense of rarity. I'm curious about the other sweets they offer. October 2017. Last day in Sapporo. Woke up to a call from a friend and realized I had overslept for almost an hour. Panicked, I quickly got dressed, checked out, and took a taxi to Sapporo Station, then caught the Rapid Airport train to New Chitose Airport. I arrived at the airport just 30 minutes before departure, barely making it. I had planned to try different foods at the airport, but all plans went out the window. After passing through security, I saw a sweets shop called "1st HOKKAIDO" near the boarding gate. I decided to check it out and bought a meringue dessert called "Snow Puff" for 918 yen. The Snow Puff had a snow-like melt-in-your-mouth texture, with a light and crispy feel due to the dry climate of Tokachi. I chose the coffee flavor, which had a strong coffee taste and a refreshing finish. I brought it home and enjoyed it. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Is it a copycat of Tomin First? (laughs) It's a newly opened shop. If you let the airport sit idle, the shops change, so make sure to check regularly. The packaging is cute and makes for a good souvenir. Everyone was happy to see something new! The almond leaf pie may not be unique, but it's deliciously crispy. The berry crunch is also great, with a nice sweet and sour berry flavor. Berries and white chocolate are a perfect match!

You can buy souvenirs right before boarding the plane. It's convenient because you can purchase them after passing through security, so they won't be heavy to carry. There are many cute items available, although I haven't tried them so I can't comment on the taste. Overall, I think they make great souvenirs.
