I had lunch at Edo Sushi. I ordered the Matsunigiri set which came with chawanmushi and small soba. The soba broth was spicy (; ;) Maybe they added shichimi spice to it... The chawanmushi was a nice touch ( ◠‿◠ ) The staff were not very friendly, but the sushi was delicious.

It was lunchtime on a regular day, but I was the only customer. I was a little worried, but it turned out really good. I ordered the middle-priced pine lunch set, which came with chawanmushi and udon. The amount of noodles alone was enough to satisfy my hunger. The sushi was large and the toppings were thick. I had 10 pieces of sushi and 2 rolls, and I was completely full and satisfied! I had sushi for 100 yen the other day, but I didn't feel as satisfied. The sushi here is of good quality and there are many higher-priced options. The cost performance is really good, so I highly recommend it! It's a great hidden gem run by a couple. I want to go there as often as possible.

Lunch set "Matsu nigiri" for 1450 yen (comes with chawanmushi and soba). The lunch set includes a choice of cherry blossom nigiri, chirashi matsu nigiri, or chirashi. The difference between cherry blossom and matsu is that the toppings are different (though it's not clear what the difference is). I decided to go with the matsu nigiri.

Finished a meeting in Higashi-machi and visited for the first time at 11:50. No other customers. BGM playing TV Hiruobi and Chintonshan. This is Shimamatsu Hon-ten, which used to have a shop in Izumi-machi as well. Ordered the Matsunigiri at the counter seat. The proprietress brought oshibori, agari, murasaki, chawanmushi, and soba, while the chef made the sushi right in front of us! The portions are big and the quality is great! It's even bigger than a clipper! Let's dig in... Delicious! Good rice, good fish, good pickled ginger! Generous portions and good value for the price! I would definitely come here often if it was closer. Matsunigiri for 1450 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

Today's lunch before playing, where should I go? I decided to try a restaurant with no recent reviews, so I chose "Edo Sushi"! The last menu I saw was from 4 years ago, and I couldn't find the latest menu on any website, which was a bit frustrating. When I arrived at the restaurant, the lunch flag was displayed, so I felt relieved to enter. The menu was posted on the wall right at the entrance, not at the counter. I chose the "Cherry Blossom Nigiri (¥1050)" from the limited lunch menu. The sushi set included 10 pieces of nigiri sushi and 6 pieces of rolled sushi. The quality of the sushi was satisfying, with generous portions of fish on top of the rice. The cherry blossom nigiri set also came with chawanmushi and soba noodles, which were delicious. The chawanmushi had a nice balance of sweetness and the soba noodles were flavorful with a hint of spiciness. Overall, despite some inconsistency in the rice quality, the meal was enjoyable and worth the price. I would consider trying a higher-priced item or the cherry blossom chirashi if I visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I had the cherry blossom sushi lunch menu - it had a variety of ingredients like tuna, salmon, scallops, shrimp, octopus, red snapper, yellowtail, and mackerel. It also came with rolls, so you can rest assured it was delicious. It was seriously tasty. Thank you for the meal, I will come again.

I revisited the restaurant with my mother in July 2017. We ordered the "Sushi Full Lunch" for 980 yen + tax, along with the "Nama-sushi (pine)" set. The menu also had chirashi available, but we opted for the sushi since it looked good. The restaurant doesn't serve eel, but we were served somen and chawanmushi first. The sushi set included 10 pieces of sushi and rolls, which filled us up. While my companion thought the rice was too soft, I didn't mind it at all. The staff wasn't very accommodating when it came to taking photos, possibly because the seating area wasn't tidy. The son seemed a bit confused about the menu items and even took my menu photo to confirm. Overall, the owner was very nice. Thank you for the meal.
In January 2007, I visited this restaurant during winter. I remember there being options for nigiri and tempura lunches, but for some reason, I ended up having tempura even though I had come for sushi. Nevertheless, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. There was a bit of a wait for the dishes to come out, but the atmosphere was cozy with regular customers around.

Visited the Shimamatsu Garrison from the morning of July 2016 for a tour. They supply various items such as canned food and packed meals to the army, as well as construction machinery from Hokkaido. Had a meal at the soldiers' cafeteria with the soldiers. After the tour ended in front of Shimamatsu Station, I felt thirsty. Saw a curtain hanging outside Edo Sushi when I turned away from the station. Visited for the first time at 14:05, no other customers. Sat at the counter with the owner. Quenched my thirst with a beer. Watched the Fighters game on the screen in front of me. The appetizers were good. Had crab miso tofu, shrimp salad, and octopus plum salad. They were on a winning streak, so my expectations were high. Let's watch a bit more. Ordered sashimi. Sake? No, bottled beer! It's still early for the weekend. Oh, quite a generous serving of sashimi, I can handle it. Enjoyed it slowly, and had a bit of sushi too. Now, should I head back to the new market? The friendly owner, thank you for the meal~

Sushi restaurant located in front of JR Shimamatsu Station in Eniwa City. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is traditional, with a counter and a raised seating area, as well as a banquet hall on the second floor. During lunchtime, they offer affordable and generous set meals that are suitable for groups. The "Nama Sushi (Take)" set costs 1,380 yen and includes raw sushi, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), and mini soba noodles. The sushi ingredients are decent considering the price, with a good variety including Tekka Maki. However, personally, I found the sushi rice to be a bit heavy and sticky, lacking a bit of vinegar flavor. The chawanmushi was sweet and typical of Hokkaido style. The soba noodles, although more of a side dish, were made with sesame seeds and served in a flavorful white soy sauce broth. However, it was quite spicy due to the addition of shichimi pepper, which may not suit everyone's taste. I recommend trying their affordable lunch sets if you live nearby or happen to be in the area for work.

I apologize for writing a review so long after my visit, but I don't think I will ever go back to this restaurant again, so I decided to write a review now. I treated my parents to sushi with my retirement money from my previous job, and since it was within walking distance, we decided to go to this restaurant. We arrived without a reservation, but it seemed like there were many regular customers having a party inside. The owner quickly told us, "Sorry, but I can't pay much attention to you and I can't serve you anything special." I was quite upset, but my parents said it was fine and told the owner our budget, saying, "Just serve us whatever." We sat at a counter seat, and of course, the food didn't come out quickly. Finally, when a few pieces of sushi were served, we found out that the tuna was still frozen. I was shocked that frozen tuna would be served at a regular sushi restaurant. But my parents, strangely generous only in situations like this, stopped me from complaining. After a long and disappointing meal, we left without feeling satisfied. Maybe if we become regular customers, they will treat us better.

I have occasional business trips to Shimamatsu, and I always stop by here on my way back to get takeout. The restaurant itself is small with a counter and a raised tatami seating area, and there are a few regular customers. It may feel a bit intimidating for first-timers. I always order the special sushi set, which includes top-quality sushi with either pine, bamboo, or plum. The plum set is around 3200 yen, but I think the quality of the ingredients exceeds the price. The large, delicious toppings like live shellfish, abalone, and sea urchin make me satisfied. I will definitely use their takeout service again!

The place is located diagonally to the left in front when you leave Shimamatsu Station. You will see a large sign that says "Edo Sushi". I used to use this place often for workplace parties a few years ago. There is a banquet hall on the second floor. The manager and the hostess are very friendly, and the atmosphere is great. The sushi and sashimi are incredibly fresh, especially the scallops have a crispy texture. The quality of the food is surprisingly high for banquet dishes. The tempura and other non-sushi dishes were also satisfying in taste. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and I left very satisfied. I would like to go with my family next time.

Shimamatsu Station is located nearby and we often went there with my family. Edo Sushi is recommended for lunch, with affordable prices and generous portions. The seafood chirashi sushi was really delicious.
