Located in a residential area near the intersection of Wakaba Street and Momijiyama Street in Hanakawa, Ishikari City. As there is no nearby public transportation, it is necessary to have a car to visit, making it mostly frequented by locals. On the day of our visit, there were 5 of us who dropped in.
- Service:
With only the owner and what seemed to be a waitress managing the place, the operation can be limited, resulting in slow dish serving. It is advisable to order dishes in bulk due to the high number of local regulars.
- Atmosphere:
The exterior creates a unique atmosphere with chickens kept outside, making it somewhat intimidating to enter. The interior is not very spacious, and the seating can feel cramped. While the sunken kotatsu seats are comfortable, regular table seats offer more space.
- Menu:
There are no daily recommended dishes on the blackboard, only the grand menu. However, they will inform you about the available fish. The menu is not extensive, and the pricing is slightly above average. Unfortunately, they do not serve Sapporo Classic draft beer.
- Food:
The food lacks a distinctive feature but manages to pass in terms of taste. Fish from Hokkaido tends to be too fatty, making sashimi less enjoyable. The overall taste is not delicate but rather hearty and rough. The sashimi platter we ordered looked visually appealing for social media but included frozen tuna, male snow crab, and an excessive amount of octopus, which was disappointing.
Overall, we paid slightly over 40,000 yen for five people on the day of our visit. It is a place worth visiting for locals, but not worth traveling far for.
- Orders:
★Salted Tsubugai Clams: Disappointing, as it was just salty pickled clams with a tough texture.
△Sashimi Platter (Tuna, Tsubugai Clam, Salmon, Octopus, Oysters, Snow Crab): Included fish we did not enjoy, regretting not ordering individual items.
◎Salmon Roe: Generous portion and delicious flavor.
〇Potato Butter: A classic dish with large Hokkaido potatoes and squid salted roe, a delightful combination.
〇Grilled Chicken Liver: A savory chicken liver dish with a slightly strong seasoning that enhances the liver's sweetness.
△Simmered Flounder: While well-portioned and tasty, the thickness of the fatty part between the skin and flesh bothered us.
★Various Drinks were ordered, making up a significant portion of the bill.
