At first, I thought it might be a bit plain, but I'm sorry to say that I was wrong... I had heard of it before, but I didn't realize it would be this delicious. I should have bought more. The small container of Chocolat Brownie is 864 yen (tax included) and the large container is 1512 yen (tax included). I heard that the Noir is not too sweet, while the Lacté is sweeter with milk chocolate, so this time I chose Noir. While bean-to-bar chocolates are fun, I thought that this chocolate specialty store has a perfect balance in their finished sweets. I gave the small container as a gift to a friend, and even though it was delicious, they said they had never seen it before. It's a shame that it's not more well-known considering how delicious it is. The large container had 13 pieces inside, give or take a few grams. I was going to give it 5 stars, but I deducted 0.5 stars because I thought it would be nice to have individual packaging, and also because it's still a little bit plain (sorry).

Chocolatier Masale is a shop at New Chitose Airport where you can buy chocolates, soft serve ice cream, and coffee before your domestic flight. The interior of the shop is stylish, with walls made of chocolate-filled tubes that make for a cute backdrop for photos. They sell individual chocolates in the showcase, perfect for snacking while enjoying a cup of coffee. The Takinoue Black Mint and Drip Coffee Ice are recommended choices. The Takinoue Black Mint chocolate has a subtle and elegant taste, while the drip coffee has a hint of sweetness. Other flavors like Thick True Husk Cherry, Framboise & Roasted Tea, and Caramel are also worth trying. They accept credit card payments. Check out my blog for more details: https://zan3tho.com

After passing through airport security, I used the shops in the departure lounge. I bought some delicious-looking bread, but I forgot to take a picture of it... I also found a chocolate snack with a limited-time design, so I bought that too. I thought it would be solid chocolate, but it turned out to be a chocolate-coated treat with a crispy texture that I enjoyed while eating.

"Chocolatier Masaru, with its main store located in Sapporo city, is a chocolate specialty shop. They have a branch in the departure lobby of New Chitose Airport, where you can find sandwiches that are not available at the main store. Of course, they also offer delicious chocolates and soft serve ice cream. Everything is tasty, but personally, I recommend trying the sandwiches."

Visiting just after 10 o'clock on a regular day, there were a few people but the shop was not crowded. The soft serve ice cream mix costs ¥440. It has a smooth texture without any graininess. The milk flavor is not too strong, more like a sweet cream taste. The chocolate also has a decent level of sweetness, but the aftertaste has a cocoa aroma and bitterness. I prefer dark chocolate, so I wish it was richer and less sweet. Overall, it has a flavor that would appeal to most people. The waffle cone provided a satisfying crunch.

This is a store in the departure lobby of New Chitose Airport. They specialize in chocolate and also sell soft serve ice cream. You can choose from three flavors: milk, chocolate, or a mix. I decided to try the mix, which was served in a cup for 450 yen. The chocolate flavor was rich and very sweet. The milk flavor, on the other hand, was overpowered by the chocolate and I couldn't really taste the milk. I also gave some to my child, who happily said it was delicious. Next time, I think I'll try the milk flavor. It was tasty.

★Mousse Glace Chocolate 410 yen
This airport limited edition Mousse Glace comes in two flavors, but the other one was sold out so I got the Chocolate. When you order, they take it out from the freezer and dip it into a pool of chocolate, then add a fancy topping. You can choose the topping, but this time I went with the classic one. It was beautifully decorated with red, yellow, and green toppings that added a nice touch of acidity. I think they were pistachio, passion fruit, and raspberry. The mousse was light and smooth, while the chocolate was crunchy. They put a guard around it like a milk carton, so there was no worry about it dripping. Since it's only available at the airport, I highly recommend trying it out! It's a great alternative to soft-serve ice cream. Thank you for the delicious treat!

To Chocolatier Masaru New Chitose Airport Lobby Store♪ The shop was located on the 2nd floor of the New Chitose Airport Terminal Building. I locked onto the airport-limited sweet "Mousse Glace"! I purchased "Chocola". Mousse Glace is a frozen mousse ice bar. The staff coats the chocolate mousse made with 70% Venezuelan cocoa with sweet chocolate right in front of you. Toppings are free. I recommend pistachio and passion fruit. The richness of the chocolate and the acidity of the toppings make for a delicious combination. Thank you for the meal!

After a long time, I had some time at New Chitose Airport and wandered around a bit. The first place I visited was "Chocolatier Massar New Chitose Airport Lobby Store." The beautifully crafted store had two beautiful ladies inside. As I was taking a photo, one of them asked, "Are you looking for something?" I tried the airport exclusive sweets called "Mousse Glace (Chocolate) @410," which is popular on social media. The beautiful lady put on vinyl gloves, took out the mousse bar from the freezer, coated it with chocolate, and topped it with "Pistachio Passion Raspberry" before handing it to me. The base mousse was made with 70% cocoa from Venezuela, and the milk used was "Tsukisap Milk" from "Hakkokugakuen." The smooth and melting texture of the mousse, along with the dry fruits and pistachio, added a nice accent. The chocolate was quite bitter, but it didn't have unnecessary bitterness or extra sweetness, which I think is the charm of "Chocolatier Massar." The chocolate soft serve here is also delicious, but the Mousse Glace is also quite impressive. It's a limited edition item at the airport, so if you're interested, please try it at the airport. Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop called Chocolatier Massart located on the gate side after passing through the baggage inspection area. I tried the Chocolat Brownie Soft Serve available only at this shop. You can also get it to go. You can choose between white and chocolate soft serve ice cream. The soft serve ice cream is topped with chocolate shaped like an airplane, and underneath is a chocolate brownie from Chocolatier Massart that adds a crunchy texture. A complimentary chocolate palette was also included, which was so cute that I took a photo together. They also offer pastries like Pain au Chocolat and sandwich menus.

Based in Sapporo, this chocolatier has two stores at New Chitose Airport. The one I visited this time is located in the departure lobby of the airport, on the 2nd floor of Sweets Avenue, between Royce and Nouvelle Berg.

- Chocolat Brownie 130g for 1,296 yen: A limited edition at New Chitose Airport, this is the most popular sweet at the store. It is a crunchy Chocolat Brownie with walnuts, coated in high-quality chocolate. The sweetness is mild and it is delicious.
- Palette Sablé 6 pieces for 1,641 yen: A limited edition design for New Chitose Airport, this is the second most popular sweet at the store. It is a delicious buttery sablé with a crispy texture, coated in tasty chocolate. Delicious.
[Summary]
Although brightly printed, these chocolates are delicious and more suited for adults.

Basically, I usually like regular soft serve ice cream and only had mix-ins when I was a kid, but the chocolate soft serve at the chocolate specialty shop is really delicious. They use French chocolate with high cocoa content. If you eat in, you can get a smoked chocolate topping for an extra 8 yen. The chocolate brownie with chocolate chips is also tasty. Although Godiva's chocolate is more solid, this one feels more like ice cream. Both are equally delicious.

Sapporo Classic for 500 yen with salty chocolate sablé as a service. I had been eating and drinking a lot during my two-night stay in Sapporo, so I decided to have a light lunch of ramen and gyoza before heading to the boarding lobby. But of course, I had to end with a Sapporo Classic, so I stopped by this chocolate shop. They only had charcuterie on the menu for snacks, which included game meat that looked delicious but seemed like too much, so I passed. The beer was served as a service to everyone, and the salty chocolate sablé was just the right snack to go with it. The space was stylish, and I found out that they have high-quality chocolates, so I definitely want to buy some on my next visit.

Everyone! The seal has safely returned!!! Yes, yes! It's a souvenir from Hokkaido~♪ Oh, wait, I didn't get one for myself... Huh? Did we gain an extra person? Anyway, the seal souvenir is exchanged for the assistant on a diet! I found this chocolate at New Chitose Airport on the way back! It's from chocolatier Masaru! The surface is coated with a beautiful film! It has a luxurious feel yet is reasonably priced! So, here we go! Chocolatier Masaru's chocolate brownie! A crispy brownie cake filled with walnuts! It's covered in chocolate all over and has a good volume! The sweetness is moderate, so you won't get tired of it! But, I left it in a slightly warm place, so... Oh, it's starting to stick together... So, even though the photo is of just the packaging, it's a potential souvenir candidate for next time! I found a souvenir that's quite popular!

After passing through the security checkpoint at New Chitose Airport, I decided to have a beer before heading home. You order and pay first at this place. I chose Sapporo Classic. The beer poured in front of me was in good condition and the taste was consistent. It was a satisfying drink before heading back to Osaka. The best thing about this place is its proximity to the departure gate. Although I had a beer this time, the main menu consists of cafe-style items, so my use of the place may not have been in line with the intended purpose.

<About the Store>
This is a branch of a chocolate specialty store with its main store located in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, founded in February 1988. The founder, Mr. Masaru Kotani, is the grandson of the founder of Kotani Seika Co., Ltd. (founded in 1900, bankrupt in 1984). Mr. Kotani was inspired by the chocolate he tasted by chance on a street corner in Paris, which led to the opening of this store. This branch store opened on June 23, 2017, and is named "Masaru" after the founder, Mr. Kotani.

- Mousse Glace Chocolate Arriba: This is an exclusive product at New Chitose Airport store, priced at 388 yen. Mousse Glace is essentially frozen mousse ice cream. The main Mousse Glace flavors are Chocolate, White Chocolate & Milk, Hazelnut & Hokkaido Milk, and Mint Chocolate & Hokkaido Milk. During my visit, there were also two limited-time flavors available: Chocolate Arriba and Exotic Coco. I ordered the Chocolate Arriba, which uses rare Ecuadorian Arriba Nacional cacao. The standard topping for this flavor is cacao nibs, but I chose strawberries for a more visually appealing option. The mousse is taken out of the freezer, dipped about 2/3 into a bottle of liquid chocolate, then topped with the chosen topping before it solidifies. It is served on a paper plate, making it easy to enjoy without worrying about making a mess. The Chocolate Arriba used in this Mousse Glace is a rare cacao variety, with only about 2% of the world's cacao production being Arriba cacao. It has a fruity and aromatic flavor, making the Mousse Glace delicious and enjoyable with its smooth texture.
In addition to the popular soft-serve ice cream at New Chitose Airport, I recommend trying the unique Mousse Glace from this chocolatier, which you can only find here.

I went through security with plenty of time to spare and had lunch at Masaru. Airport food can be pricey, so I always go for something that's worth the price, like Masaru. The coffee and bread are delicious, making it the perfect start to my journey while waiting for my flight.

Located in Sapporo with its main store, this chocolatier has a shop at New Chitose Airport. While wandering around the airport, I stumbled upon a dessert called "Mousse Glace" that looked incredibly delicious. I couldn't resist and decided to buy it. The shop has a luxurious feel to it, with small chairs where you can sit and enjoy your treat, although I felt a bit embarrassed to do so.
The staff at the shop, particularly a cheerful and cute girl in charge of offering samples, was very polite and friendly. The shop was not crowded, even on a three-day weekend in July around noon.
They offer four varieties of Mousse Glace, which seem to be exclusive to the airport. Additionally, they sell chocolates and other chocolate snacks that could be great souvenirs. The price for Mousse Glace is 388 yen.
I had the option to choose the toppings, which were added on top of the chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce, creating a crispy texture. The ice cream was incredibly smooth and firm, with a crispy chocolate sauce on top and crunchy nuts. The combination of flavors was perfect, with just the right amount of sweetness and a hint of bitterness. It was absolutely delicious and perfect for summer.
Overall, this dessert exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it over the soft-serve ice cream commonly found at airports. If you're tired of soft-serve ice cream in Hokkaido, be sure to try this out.

"When I go to New Chitose Airport, I always suffer from the 'must eat ice cream' disease, so I wander around looking for what to eat. I thought I had tried everything, but with new items and changes in shops, I realize there are still many things I haven't eaten. But I can't eat multiple items at once, so I'm pondering on what to choose. After much contemplation, I decided on the airport limited dessert 'Mousse Glace' (tax included 388 yen). There are four varieties to choose from, and you can also change the toppings, but I didn't really understand that, so I just went with the normal nuts topping. When you order, they start making it right in front of you. Hazelnut mousse ice cream coated with milk chocolate! Once it starts to harden, they sprinkle the nuts on top, and it's done (*^^*). The hazelnut aroma and flavor of the mousse ice cream is delicious, with a soft texture that gently melts in your mouth. It's tasty, but it doesn't really stand out, right? Soft serve would have been better (personal opinion). Thank you, 'Masaru'!"

New Chitose Airport, a moment before takeoff. I spotted a soft-serve ice cream sign. But upon closer inspection, it was actually a chocolate specialty shop. I decided to try the soft-serve ice cream. They had brown, white, and mixed flavors, with the white being white chocolate instead of vanilla. I ordered the white one for 380 yen. It was a white chocolate soft-serve in a waffle cone. I took a bite and it was delicious! I later found out that the shop is a famous chocolate store in Sapporo. I also bought a chocolate-filled Danish pastry for the flight, which had a perfect balance of chocolate bitterness and sweetness, along with the buttery aroma of the pastry. I will definitely visit the main store in the city next time!
