Enmiya This week, I went for a rural drink again. I left the company and headed straight for Tohiki, which takes an hour and a half. This marks the seventh consecutive week of rural drinking. For the seventh week, I went to Tohiki. This is my second time in seven weeks. This time, it's a solo drink at a place that caught my interest before, and today I'm determined to go in. Last time, I hesitated at the entrance due to the lively atmosphere inside and ended up leaving. This time, I go in. The place is called "Sakana Enmiya." It was crowded from the outside, but there were only two empty seats in the middle of the 8-seat counter. The landlady says, "It will take time to serve the food," not in a rude way, but gently... a subtle rejection perhaps? I ignore it and enter. There are three sunken tables connected together, suggesting they host banquets. There seems to be a tatami room in the back. The place is bigger than I thought. The customers are typical of rural areas. Oh, I don't call myself a city person or anything like that. The beer is delicious in a classic glass. I order the octopus carpaccio, which is a bit extravagant. As expected, the food comes out quickly. It's a Japanese-style carpaccio. Well, it's okay, I guess. The lemon adds a nice touch. The ingredients are using every part of the octopus. The tentacles are tender, but the head is tough. There's a chubby old man next to me, and his elbow is right in front of me. I wish he would move it... I don't want to touch it. There are two women and the master in the sunken area. The master must be good at his job, but he's just a rural master. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely. I moved the wet towel myself. The women in the sunken area are laughing loudly without any reservation. Drinking two beers and eating carpaccio alone in a place like this is not good. It's very uncomfortable. I've had solo drinks three times in Naka-Shibetsu, two times in Bihoro, and two times in Tohiki. As a general rule, solo drinking in Naka-Shibetsu is not difficult. Bihoro has many enjoyable places. Solo drinking in Tohiki is tough. I don't know what the relationship is, but the older sister is a very nice person. She is very considerate when dealing with men. If you cater to women, it's a 4, for men it's a 3. If you take the middle road, it's a 3. It would have been nice if my wife had come. It cost 1,910 yen. That's about right. It was good that there was no appetizer, right? Yeah, no appetizer, and the landlady was nice...
