When I went to the breakfast venue around 8 am, there were no available seats, so the hotel quickly set up seating in the lobby. I wore transparent gloves to serve myself food. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive and the taste was average, but it was free so I was satisfied. Being able to take coffee back to the room and receiving a complimentary morning paper were also nice touches. I think it's worth staying here if you're looking for an affordable option. I want you to remember the system of "Crown Hills" properly~~~ I invited myself because if I can't convey it properly to the customers, it's bad, so I booked the hotel myself because I can stay cheaply, which is very much appreciated. Visit in August 2022, stayed at Hotel Crown Hills in Kitami, while touring road stations on the Okhotsk side from eastern Hokkaido. Got a great deal with a travel support package, including a breakfast buffet for less than 5000 yen per night! The room was spacious, chic, and relaxing. The breakfast buffet had a decent variety of items like salmon, omelette, natto, bread, curry, etc. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the downtown area and the station. A business hotel located in the heart of Kitami's downtown area. Free parking for regular cars, free ochazuke service from 10 pm to midnight. Coffee and morning newspaper are also provided, with a wide selection of comic books available. For those with early departure times, there is an early morning curry service from 6:00 to 6:30 on weekdays. Free breakfast buffet on the first floor with a counter and table seating. The atmosphere is chic and calm. The breakfast menu doesn't particularly reflect the local Kitami cuisine, except for the salt yakisoba. No scallops are included. Overall, the breakfast offers a good balance of nutrition with grilled fish, tamagoyaki, side dishes, salad, pickles, rice, miso soup, etc. There is also curry, bread, and apple and grape juice available. I went to eat close to the final entry time around 8:30 am and there didn't seem to be any menu items that had run out. The curry was simple but delicious, with a rich roux and a slightly spicy kick.

On Sunday, we went for a drive to Tokachi. I wanted to leave as early as possible, but even though I thought about waking you up early, I hesitated. "Let's go get some food!" I said. I heard that you're going to drink in Kitami, so did you book a hotel? There are a few ways to drink in Kitami. In the past, we used to take the JR train there and then take a taxi back. It cost around 12,000 yen for the round trip. But now that I'm retired, I've stopped doing that. The most common option now is to take the JR train both ways, which costs 4,200 yen for the round trip. Add in the taxi fare for the way back, and it comes to a total of 6,000 yen. Yome-san found a hotel for less than 5,000 yen, so we decided to stay there. She has a knack for finding cheaper hotels. However, there is a catch to this - having a hotel room means we have more time to visit more bars, which Yome-san may not have realized. This time, breakfast was included for free at the hotel. It was a bit lacking in options, with no milk and some other ingredients missing. It felt a bit more sparse than usual, but I can't complain. I'm grateful just to be able to eat. The soup was a flavorful mixture of leek and tofu. As for the curry... just like yesterday, the carrots were still raw and crunchy. Is this a trend in Kitami curry? Overall, the soup was consistently good over the two days. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the curry was fine if you avoided the carrots. The coffee was decent, but a little more effort in the side dishes would be appreciated.

Free breakfast at the hotel. It is part of the same group as "Muroran Hills," which I used last year in Muroran. Located in an area with many bars, the key management at night is done individually rather than at the front desk, and the rooms do not have automatic locks. There were no issues with keys being locked inside, making it easy to go out for drinks. Breakfast is buffet style at the restaurant on the first floor. There were fewer dishes compared to "Muroran Hills," but slightly more Japanese dishes than the Comfort series. I wasn't very excited about the food options, so I had scrambled eggs, mackerel, salted squid guts, seaweed and cucumber vinegar, seaweed and daikon miso soup, and about 80g of rice. The vinegar dish in the morning made me feel refreshed. The daikon in the miso soup was completely cooked despite being sliced 5-8mm thick. It seems like they put effort into preparing the dishes. Each table also had furikake available, showing consideration for those who like rice even on days when they don't like the main dishes. Since I didn't eat much, I had about 100g of rice with curry. It didn't have meat, but it was full of potatoes, carrots, and onions. It was slightly spicy, like mild curry with a kick. Unlike the miso soup, the potatoes were cooked, but the carrots were crunchy and the onions were still firm. It would have been better if they had cooked it for another 4-5 minutes before serving. I think it would be better without the vegetables... Coffee was mediocre, but easy to drink, so I had a refill. For a plan with meals for less than 5,000 yen per night, this is what you get. However, I was disappointed that my favorite curry was not fully cooked. I have a better impression of Muroran, even though it's the same group. Ratings: Vinegar dish 3.4, Curry 2.8, Miso soup 3.2, Coffee 3.1, Rice 3.1.

There weren't many options, but the crispy sausages, grilled fish, omelette, pickles, etc. were all delicious. I also had seconds of the curry rice, which was also very tasty.
