North Wind
On the last Sunday of August, continuing... When you're not satisfied with lunch, you tend to end up at a place like this during snack time, right? Our afternoon shopping destination was the Capo Ohtani store. And when it comes to places to stop for this kind of purpose in this facility, so far, it's been the Sapporo Coffee Kan. It's been about a year since we last visited this place. It's a bit of a luxury for our family, but today, with lunch being just lunch, we thought, "Well, this place will do." So, we decided to go for it. This time, I was in the mood for a parfait. As I carefully looked over the menu, I immediately spotted the "Summer Limited Edition Yamanaka Ranch Soft Serve Ice Cream Parfait Festival." There were three types of parfaits lined up, and it was a dream come true to see that they were made with directly sourced ingredients from Akai River Village. I decided to go with the "Chocolat Mist" (700 yen excluding tax). The menu description read, "Chocolate mousse with milk soft serve ice cream, rich gateau chocolat, chocolate cookies, bananas, oranges, and chocolate sauce. A popular chocolate-packed parfait." On the other hand, my wife was torn between going for the "Matcha Azuki" or the "Cafe Jure" and ended up choosing the latter (700 yen excluding tax). The description read, "Homemade cappuccino ice cream with milk soft serve ice cream, topped with coffee jelly made using Mandheling from our contracted farm. A parfait with a coffee flavor that fills your mouth." Both options looked incredibly satisfying just by reading the descriptions. After placing our order, the parfaits arrived. Oh, this looks quite... I quickly took a photo before they melted, and we dug in. Oh, this is quite something. Truly, the quality of Yamanaka. My "Chocolat Mist" and my wife's "Cafe Jure" both had the Yamanaka Ranch soft serve ice cream as the base, with toppings like gateau chocolat, chocolate cookies, bananas, oranges, chocolate sauce, cappuccino ice cream, Mandheling, coffee jelly, etc. It was bound to be delicious. A blissful moment. It may sound a bit exaggerated, but I feel like I can tackle the week ahead with this. Well, whether I can really tackle the week ahead with this remains to be seen, but I believe that as a "pro" in the food and beverage industry, it's important to make customers feel this way and to have the goal of wanting to make them feel this way. Well, this visit for snack time was a very good choice for refreshing after lunch.
