"I was imagining that I would like to have soba noodles for lunch," but when it actually came time for lunch, there was no time to leisurely think about it, and I ended up having lunch at "Shin Minato Market." With limited options, I visited "Otaru Sato Shokudo" inside the market. It was around noon and the restaurant was about 80% full. After having my temperature checked and disinfecting my hands with alcohol, I faced the ticket vending machine. I wanted to try the fresh seafood, but it seemed a bit over my budget, so after some hesitation, I chose the "Nigiri Sushi (premium) for 1,300 yen." I handed the ticket to the lady and sat at the counter seat. The kitchen was a one-man show, and it was enjoyable to watch the efficient and skillful cooking. After a 10-minute wait, the sushi was placed in front of me. The tray included 9 pieces of nigiri sushi, miso soup, disposable wet towel, chopsticks, and a soy sauce dish. The nigiri sushi consisted of tuna, shrimp, squid, salmon, flying fish roe, salmon roe, sea bream, and scallop, with vinegared rice, mild wasabi, and firm rice. The shrimp and squid were particularly good. The light-flavored miso soup was delicious. In terms of value for a lunch sushi, it was just average. It seemed like many local regulars were having set meals, which seemed like a wise choice. From what I observed, the tempura seemed to be a popular and good choice. Overall, it was a satisfying meal."
