I visited for the first time, and the curry at Nirvanam exceeded my expectations—it was absolutely delicious! The aroma of the spices was strong, and while it was spicy, there was a deep richness that made it a true taste of authentic cuisine. The "Chicken Curry," in particular, was exquisite, with a rich sauce that paired perfectly with naan and rice. The interior of the restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful, making for a very comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves spice dishes—definitely worth a visit!

The Indian restaurant Nirwanam, known for its excellent lunch buffet, has opened a new location in the TFT building next to Tokyo Big Sight. There has been an existing location in the nearby TOC Ariake building, which suggests that this area, with limited dining options, has a concentrated demand for good eateries. What sets Nirwanam's buffet apart from others is its strong emphasis on South Indian cuisine. It's rare to find the popular South Indian snack, vada, which resembles a doughnut, included as a part of the unlimited offerings. There are also four types of curry available, along with sambhar. The overall satisfaction level is quite high.

Buffet-style restaurant! All-you-can-eat for 1,200 yen! It's a great deal for those who can eat a lot! I chose two types of curry: chicken and vegetable, along with butter naan and more vegetables! The curry is delicious! The spices really pack a punch! I don't have a photo, but I also got a second helping of rice, which was delicious saffron-colored rice! The staff were foreigners, and if you don't expect too much in terms of service, I think it's a good restaurant! Thank you for the meal!

I was able to eat a lot until my stomach was quite full! This place is sure to satisfy everyone from adults to children! Thank you very much. I thought it was wonderful, so I would like to bring my friends next time! I will definitely come back!

Today, after an event at Tokyo Big Sight, I visited this place because my colleague really wanted curry. I've already tried it in Kanagawa and Ginza, so I would have been fine with other Japanese dishes as well, but since I like curry, I thought it was okay. 😊 As expected, Nirwanam specializes in South Indian cuisine, featuring a soupy coconut-based curry that pairs well with the fluffy rice. I enjoyed it with some Indian wine! ❗️♪ After work, savoring the last remnants of summer while relishing curry on an autumn evening ♪

I visited the newly opened restaurant during a lunch break at an exhibition. I thought the spices would help counteract the effects of the drinks from the night before. My stomach was happy, but I felt sleepy. After one serving, I ended up dozing off while looking at my phone. When I woke up, I didn’t have the energy to eat another serving. I enjoyed some dessert and settled the bill. I want to come back in great shape next time.

A long time ago, I had a great experience at the Ariake location, so this time I decided to visit the Tokyo Big Sight restaurant! The lunch buffet was not only great for the curry but also had a variety of side dishes. Since it was the weekend, they even offered biryani on the menu! Additionally, we received a complementary dish, which was a really nice touch! However, there was no naan available… although there was something similar, I remember that at the Ariake location, they brought it to each table. I guess it varies by location. Also, given the price, it would have been even better if drinks were included. Overall, it was an average experience.

Second visit during the exhibition period. Last time, it was far from Big Sight, but they moved closer and it's much more convenient. They had veggie biryani this time, which wasn't available last time, and it was fantastic. The mutton curry was also delicious. Today's meal was a big hit!

When I visited the jewelry festival at Big Sight, I stopped by a restaurant. I had a reservation at their Ariake branch through Tabelog, but it seemed completely dead with no customers and a lack of enthusiasm, so I decided to move to this location, which had a decent number of patrons. Like the previous place, I ordered the 4,400 yen course meal. I had thought this course would feature dishes served one after another, but it turned out to be more like a set meal with everything served at once. That was a mistake on my part. While there were various dishes, they seemed somewhat refined or maybe just not to my taste. Upon closer inspection, I noticed there were many dishes with unfamiliar names. Honestly, I only looked at the price. I should have ordered a la carte, like tandoori chicken or samosas, and then picked a curry I liked. That would probably have cost me less than half the price. Well, this isn't the restaurant's fault; it's my own strategic miscalculation. I learned my lesson to check the contents of a course meal before ordering. By the way, the unfamiliar dishes included papad, vada, sambar, plain dosa, and Kerala parotta.

When I visited for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised to find biryani on the menu. Additionally, the presence of raita in the salad corner was a significant plus. I appreciated the uneven coloration of the rice and the noticeable spice, which blended perfectly with the refreshing raita. I also liked that the vegetables in the raita were cut into larger pieces. The biryani, of course, mixed well with the fluffy basmati rice and the smooth raita. There was hot sauce available for the curries, but it had a decent level of spiciness, so it’s best to use it cautiously. The three types of curries offered were unique varieties and sambhar. There were also side dishes like chicken manchurian, representing Indo-Chinese cuisine. By the way, "manchurian" refers to Manchuria. The salad included lettuce and cabbage with seaweed. In addition to biryani, there was Japanese rice, as well as cut naan and vada. The Japanese rice labeled option sometimes featured actual turmeric rice, while at other times it had mixed spice seeds with basmati rice. Each visit introduced me to new desserts—many of which had a thick texture and were moderately sweet. The payasam, however, wasn't that great. The curry is usually served in small bowls meant for curry, which you place on your plate, but these bowls are located on the sides rather than right next to the plate, making it a bit confusing. At the Ariake location, stacking four bowls on a plate felt unstable, but here it worked out fine. Thank you for the meal. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the TFT building, just past the entry from Koshigaya towards the opposite side of Tokyo Big Sight. Take care not to enter through the front entrance of the building; you need to continue outside and proceed past the print shop to find the restaurant entrance. It’s worth noting that while there has been a Nirwanam at TOC for a while, I had never visited until now. Since I had a great experience at the Tokyo Big Sight location, I wanted to check out the Ariake location, but I would recommend the Tokyo Big Sight location for various reasons.

In Japan, which is hotter than India, I opted for an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet featuring South and North Indian cuisine for 1,320 yen, tax included. I took a seat at an available table and signaled the waiter to start the feast. The biryani was made with long, slender, authentic indica rice and had a mild flavor, with cauliflower included. There were three types of curry, along with a delicious curry soup. The banana fries were a new taste experience for me – I could eat as many as I wanted! After going back for seconds, I felt completely full. To wrap up the meal, I tossed some fennel seeds into my mouth by the cash register and finished my meal with PayPay. Delicious!

It was around 2:30 PM on a Sunday, and this was my second visit. I thought I was at the Ariake location, but I realized it was the Big Sight location. The pani puri had a separate charge, but it was quite cheap at 100 yen for five pieces. On this visit, instead of biryani, I had fried rice. All four types of curry were to my liking, and the dessert was delicious as well.

A buffet with five types of curry (including sambal) for 1,200 yen is truly appreciated. I haven't had the chance to eat in India, but the spices are robust and the intense spiciness is quite pleasurable. I wish they would come to Tohoku, even if the prices go up a bit.

Namaste. I’m the self-proclaimed Curry King, and on April 19th, I was invited to an event at Tokyo Big Sight. I wasn’t particularly keen on going, but I decided to get my heavy and somewhat provocative self moving. Why? Because I figured I could enjoy lunch while attending the event — a perfect combination. The main attraction for me was the lunch buffet at the renowned South Indian restaurant "Nirwanam," which is just a 2-minute walk from Tokyo Big Sight Station.
Looking at the buffet selection, it wasn’t limited to just South Indian dishes; it also featured popular North Indian items. My favorite North Indian curry is mutton Rogan Josh. This dish here has tender boneless mutton with a moderate amount of oil and spices. Now, personally, I prefer a more intensely spicy and oily version of Rogan Josh, but considering that Tokyo Big Sight is likely to have mostly normal people (over 95%), I suppose this milder rendition is the right choice. Overall, the impression I got was that you could enjoy fairly thin Indian curries, although the spiciness was quite light — more on the mild and easy-to-eat side. However, the chili paste and pickled carrots definitely hit the spot with a bit more punch.
The dessert, payasam, was exceptionally delicious too. In the end, my heavy and somewhat wild self ended up going for seconds multiple times. I noticed the younger crowd around me devouring a seemingly endless amount of butter naan and curiously tasting the wadas, exclaiming things like "But this is great!" — each enjoying the Indian buffet in their own way.
This restaurant, catering to the unique tastes of some individuals like myself while also thoroughly stimulating the curry tastes of the average Japanese diner, strikes a balance perfectly. And all this for just 1,200 yen before tax! As expected from the renowned South Indian restaurant "Nirwanam," they truly understand the allure in every sense.

I had a lunch buffet at Nirwanam Tokyo Big Sight near Yurikamome Tokyo Big Sight station in Koto City, Tokyo, for 1320 yen (tax included). Nirwanam had previously been located at Ariake TOC, but it seems they have relocated closer to Big Sight. I was pleasantly surprised to find egg curry on the menu that day. It was great to be able to enjoy freshly made wada too. As always, the lunch buffet was at a high level, and I found myself wanting to eat a lot. However, for exhibitors at the Big Sight events, overeating can make it really hard to stand all afternoon, so I decided to hold back a little. #Tokyo #KotoCity #Ariake #TokyoBigSight #Curry #IndianCuisine #SouthIndianCuisine #Nirwanam #LunchBuffet #Wada #EggCurry #Let’sEatSaladToo

It was a calm and pleasant day for cycling. I rode my bike from Shibuya or Tokyo Bay to the restaurant with a lunch reservation. Even though it was the weekend, only half of the seats were occupied. I ordered the lunch buffet for 1,320 yen, tax included. There were four types of curry and a variety of Indian dishes available. The standout dish for me was the chili chicken, which had a strangely delicious taste similar to spicy sweet and sour pork. The curries included bean, vegetable, chicken, and potato varieties, with the chicken curry being particularly tasty. The biryani was also good, but it was made with mutton today, which was a bit disappointing.
There were also sweetless donuts called wada, which tasted like a nostalgic frozen alphabet potato from about 35 years ago. It was more amusing than delicious, but it brought back memories. I had a lassi to drink. The glass was remarkably beautiful and visually appealing. It was probably my first lassi, and I was surprised to learn that it’s made from yogurt—it was really good! There was also a mango flavor, so I think I’ll try that next time. Overall, the buffet was fantastic!

I stopped by for lunch because I was in the area. The lunch was a buffet only, and drinks were charged separately. The salads included cabbage, lettuce, wakame, and a yogurt salad. There were four types of curry: mixed vegetables, beans, mutton, and chicken. Accompaniments to the curry included chicken biryani, white rice, a savory snack resembling sweet donuts called vada, and something like fried naan (I forgot the name). For dessert, there was an extremely sweet fruit custard. There was a good variety of dishes, and the chicken biryani was delicious with the nuts added, as were the mutton and chicken curries. However, personally, I would have preferred them to be a bit warmer. I understand that's a challenge with buffets, though. The staff at the restaurant were very kind.

During an event at Tokyo Big Sight, it was incredibly crowded, so I decided to take a short trip to Nirwanam Tokyo Big Sight, located on the opposite side of the Yurikamome Station, in the TFT Building, where it was significantly less crowded. The restaurant offers a lunch buffet featuring four types of curry, salad, a savory donut-like item called wada, fried chicken, naan, biryani, turmeric rice, and a sweet rice pudding known as rice kheer. The staff quickly refills the dishes as they run low. While I couldn’t tell much difference in flavor among the curries, they were all delicious in the ordinary sense of Indian cuisine. The biryani, which I had previously been addicted to, was spicy and tasty, so I went back for a second helping. When I returned for more biryani, they had just put out a fresh batch, but it tasted different from the first one I had taken. The wada, which resembled a donut, tasted like a bean curd donut and was delicious when dipped in curry. Additionally, the rice kheer, a sweet dessert, was a bit too sweet for my taste but paired nicely with coconut milk. This was my first experience with wada and rice kheer, and after indulging in Indian cuisine again, I felt completely satisfied.

Lunch on January 4, 2024, cost 1,380 yen. This restaurant just opened at the end of 2023 and offers only a buffet-style lunch. Since it was newly opened, I decided to check it out. However, there was no information about the lunch price displayed inside the restaurant. I found out the cost only after entering, which was quite funny!
