I visited a kebab shop run by Indians in Nishikasai and tried their gapao rice. Hmm, international cuisine?! Based on previous reviewers, I heard their kebabs are delicious! I kept my breakfast light, just having pizza, so I could enjoy lunch there. I had planned to order gapao rice, but I was tempted by the egg kebab rice. However, I stuck to my original choice and ordered the gapao rice for 700 yen. I thought they would prepare it at their main location next door, but it turns out they started cooking it right there in the shop. At first glance, I thought there was only space for kebab preparation, but it seems there was actually a small kitchen in the back.
The shop has two six-person booths, and it didn’t feel too cramped. While waiting, the aroma of gapao filled the air, making my stomach growl. It took about 20 minutes for my meal to be served. Wow! That looks like a generous portion; I worried whether I could finish it. At first glance, it resembled miso-glazed eggplant, but it was indeed gapao. The flavor was a bit strong, but it was delicious—really delicious ( ゚д゚)ンマッ! There was a slight spiciness that made it enjoyable! The spoon was also comfortable to use, making it easy to eat.
However, the portion was quite large. Towards the end, it became a bit spicier. I think it would have been even better with some soup. Also, I got a kebab roll with their original sauce to take home for my family. They made it after I finished my gapao rice, so I could give it to them warm. That was considerate of them! My family’s feedback was, “Delicious, delicious, but a lot.” I received a flyer for a 50 yen discount, so I’ll definitely go back! But right now, I’m still stuffed.
