My wife and son wanted to eat curry ramen, but we didn't do enough research and couldn't find a place open at night. My son was very upset, so I hurriedly searched and found a place called Jomon. Previously, their regular miso ramen was decently tasty, so we went straight there. There were so many staff members, including the manager, a total of 9 people. We quickly placed our order using the touch panel at our table, and our ramen arrived in about 15 minutes. My son had the Jomon miso ramen, my wife had the Asia Gon's noodles, but she couldn't finish it. I tried the rich fish sauce soy sauce ramen, but there was too much fish powder and a strange aftertaste, so I also couldn't finish it. My son managed to finish his bowl of Jomon ramen alone, along with some fried chicken. It was supposed to be delicious! However, none of us could eat more than a bite. The meat seemed to be soaked in oil. We had been trying new things recently, but maybe it's time to go back to ordering the recommended dishes at that restaurant. Despite having plenty of staff, we didn't feel any special service, not even at the self-service water station with lukewarm water. Even during payment, a staff member kept fixing their hair 4-5 times. Having many employees doesn't mean anything if the most important things aren't communicated properly.

After mountain climbing, I had the "original miso ramen extra-large" from Jomon-san for my second meal. The first meal was an omelette rice from another restaurant, but it wasn't enough. The soup was rich and salty, but delicious. It felt like my body was craving salt. Even though it was extra-large, I finished it in no time. I was a bit disappointed that the thickness of the chashu was not as good as last time, it was too thin. Thank you for the meal, I will come again. Goodbye!

Ordered coarse ground salt ramen with extra pork fat, firm noodles, and a side of mini fried rice. Started with a sip of the soup, which was rich and flavorful. I requested the noodles to be firm this time, as they felt too soft last time, and they were just right this time. The noodles from Sagamiya Seimen were chewy and smooth, with a nice texture. The chashu was delicious as well, with just the right amount of fat and a satisfying thickness. The ramen itself was excellent, but the fried rice was truly outstanding. The umami from the chashu tied everything together, and the rice had a perfect balance of fluffiness and crispiness. It's easy to see why this place is so popular. Thank you for the meal - I'll definitely be back!

Ramen Jomon 【Location】Located next to the K's Denki Tomakomai store. The parking lot is large and easy to access. 【Queue】There were a few groups lined up on Sunday afternoon, but we were seated right away. 【Order】Orders are placed using a touch panel. Since there are many menu options, it's best to ask the staff for recommendations if you are a first-time visitor. 【Interior】The restaurant has counter seating, tables, and spacious tatami seating. 【Impression】I visited after 5 years. I think the taste is delicious. I ordered the Jomon Ramen, which had a perfect level of spiciness and a great miso flavor.

There was a time when I used to come here every week for work, but this time it was a family trip to Tomakomai after a long time. So, I visited Jomon-san after a long time. I ordered the seafood soy sauce with egg topping and the chashu rice bowl. It was my first time trying the seafood soy sauce, and it was delicious. I have always liked the side menu rice bowls. Not only the chashu rice bowl, but also the curry has a spicy and authentic taste. After eating the leftovers from my child, I realized how delicious it was. The overall flavor is on the strong side, so there may be people who are not fond of it, but I recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy bold flavors. Thank you for the meal.

I was lured in by the unfamiliar name of Jomon Ramen, but ended up ordering the limited quantity Waka Shio Ramen. Personally, I like it. However, the soup is a bit thin when you drink it. It's a shame that it's advertised as having a special soup but it's not quite up to par.

Visited on April 2, 2023, at 2:30 PM. "Jomon" is a popular ramen shop in Tomakomai, offering a variety of delicious ramen dishes as well as fried rice, curry, and zangi (deep-fried chicken). Despite it being past the lunch peak on a Sunday, there were several groups of people waiting, and I had to wait for about 15 minutes before being seated at the counter. I had suffered a major injury during a practice session on March 30, so I had been resting for two days with reduced appetite and a slight fever. On April 1, I had to travel to Hokkaido for work, so I set off as planned. I will be traveling for a month with my companion, a crutch. I spent most of the ferry ride lying in bed, as I hadn't had a proper meal in the past three days due to the injury. I was quite hungry and in a much better condition, so I decided to indulge in a meal at "Jomon" upon arriving in Hokkaido. I ordered the "Original Miso Ramen (Ganmiso) ¥840," "Fried Rice ¥670," and "Zangi (Small size, 3 pieces) ¥330." I was surprised to see the variety of payment methods available besides cash this time, as I had been amazed by the touch panel ordering system during my previous visit. The "Original Miso Ramen" arrived first, in about 10 minutes. It was rich but not overly salty, with the curly egg noodles perfectly complementing the flavorful broth. The "Fried Rice" and "Zangi" arrived about 5 minutes later. The fried rice was packed with delicious chashu and had a satisfying taste, while the well-seasoned zangi was substantial and enjoyable, especially when eaten in three pieces. It had been a while since I had a full meal, so towards the end, I struggled a bit and couldn't finish the soup. Overall, it was the same consistently delicious full set meal as always. Thank you for the meal.

Visit at 4:00 PM on November 12, 2022. I visited the popular ramen shop "Jomon" in Tomakomai City, where I have been going for over 10 years. I always visit this restaurant at least once when I arrive or depart from Tomakomai Port, where I always take the Hokkaido Ferry. Today, before heading to Goshogawara City in Aomori Prefecture via Akita, I stopped by. It had been a while since my last visit, and I noticed that they had become more high-tech, with touch panel ordering now available. However, I prefer the analog way, so I checked the menu as usual using the menu sheet. Today, I chose the "Jomon Ramen (Spicy Miso) ¥890," "Mini Fried Rice ¥360," and "Jomon Zangi (Small 3 pieces) ¥330." Since I still had the lingering taste of curry soup from lunch, I decided to go easy on my order. The "Jomon Ramen (Spicy Miso)" was not as spicy as it looked, with a sweet and savory flavor. It had the characteristic richness of "Jomon" ramen. The noodles were medium-thick curly egg noodles. I particularly enjoyed the delicious chashu pork. The "Mini Fried Rice" used flavorful chashu pork and had excellent seasoning and texture. I usually order the regular size, but this time I opted for the mini version. The "Jomon Zangi" was seasoned fried chicken, with a rich flavor and crispy coating, but the inside was juicy with a unique taste. When you dip it in the mayonnaise provided, it may be a bit heavy for young people, but I can't resist and end up putting a lot on it. It's so delicious. And so, I finished my meal for today. Now, I'll board the ferry and take a nap. Tomorrow, I have a layover in Akita. Thank you for the meal.

I visited during dinner time at a popular restaurant. It was 6:30 in the evening and it didn't seem too crowded, so I sat down and ordered using a tablet. I was thinking of trying the "Jomon" series named after the restaurant, but decided to go for the "Coarse-ground Soy Sauce Ramen" for 800 yen. I also couldn't resist ordering the Zangi (small size). The ramen arrived soon after, looking rich and flavorful with toppings like bamboo shoots, green onions, chashu pork, pickled ginger, and half a boiled egg. There was a lot of visible chunks of fat in the soup, which I assume is the coarse-ground part. The noodles were medium thickness and cooked al dente. The soup had a prominent seafood flavor, which wasn't quite to my liking today. The Zangi arrived next, served in a small dish with three generously sized pieces, accompanied by mayonnaise. The meat was tender, but I found the batter slightly bitter and the aroma a bit off-putting. I noticed they also had curry on the menu, so I might try that next time. Another delicious meal today.

I had never watched the same movie twice in theaters before, but I wanted to see "Tom Cruise" one more time and headed to Tomakomai. I enjoyed a morning bath at Parrot River, had lunch at Jomon before the movie. The restaurant opened at 11:30, and I arrived 10 minutes early. It was raining, so I waited in the car for the opening, and when the curtain was raised, I was the second customer to enter. I secured a seat at the spacious counter in the restaurant. I think on my first visit they had a special soy sauce, so this time I ordered the rough-ground salt ramen with extra all-purpose green onions and a mini fried rice on the side. Even though I was the second customer, it took 8 minutes for the ramen to be served. The visible fat of the rough-ground meat is quite impressive, but it doesn't feel too heavy when you taste the soup. However, honestly, I think this fat goes better with soy sauce. Also, I prefer the soup to be a bit hotter. The hot soup makes the extra green onions more flavorful. It's delicious, but I feel a "more would be better" sensation. Also, the medium-thick curly noodles with more water could be a bit firmer. If this is the default, I would like to order them firmer. The chashu was delicious, and the dried seaweed was also good. On the other hand, the fried rice was fluffy and quite tasty. Since it's not heavy in flavor, it could go well with a regular serving and a child's ramen (not for adults?). One question remains. There were partitions between the seats at the counter, but there was no hand sanitizer placed for disinfection when entering, so I disinfected my hands with the mist spray on the counter. In these times, I think it's essential to have hand sanitizer at the entrance for thorough hand disinfection. After that, it was "Tom Cruise again!" which was also enjoyable ♬

The customer service was terrible. The staff seemed only concerned with turning over tables quickly and were unhelpful when approached. Despite a pitcher left on the table, it was unclear if it was for self-service, so I filled it with water myself, only to be scolded for doing so. The seating arrangement made it difficult to pay the bill without getting wet, and the ramen tasted like it was cooked in salad oil with overly salty seasoning. It seems like the quality of service and food has declined since new management took over. I will not be returning.

I went to Ramen Jomon-san! It's a pretty big ramen shop that opens at 5:00 PM. I was a bit confused about how to order, but it's not a ticket machine, you order using a tablet after being seated. There are a lot of menu options to choose from, but I decided on the Coarse-ground Soy Sauce Ramen for 800 yen. It was served in about 6 minutes and looked very colorful, with the bright red color of pickled ginger standing out. Let's dig in! The slightly salty soup has a punch to it, with a hint of sweetness as well. It's a well-balanced ramen that would definitely appeal to everyone. The broth has a lot of back fat and the bamboo shoots are unique. The noodles are of the high-hydration type and delicious. I would like to try the Fish Sauce Soy Ramen if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

[July 15th] I heard that this ramen shop in Tomakomai is relatively famous, so I decided to visit. The recommended options were miso, salt, and soy sauce, and I chose the soy sauce ramen for 780 yen. I also used the lunchtime service to get a mini roasted pork bowl for 280 yen, seasoned egg for 40 yen, totaling 1,100 yen. I didn't choose extra pork fat, but maybe I should have... The flavor is strong, but I like it. I'm not a fan of pickled ginger, but I found out that I could ask for it to be removed after ordering. The mini roasted pork bowl was a good portion. Despite my dislike for pickled ginger, it was actually delicious. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal. [July 17th] I returned to the restaurant, this time invited by a friend without mentioning my previous visit. Today, I decided to challenge myself with the salt ramen, which I rarely eat. I ordered the rich seafood salt ramen for 820 yen. I also added small zangi for 270 yen, totaling 1,090 yen. The color of the salt ramen doesn't look much different from the soy sauce ramen, but when you taste it, you can definitely tell it's salt-based with a strong fish powder flavor. It was delicious. Next time, I'll try the miso ramen! Thank you for the meal.

I visited Jomon Ramen again. The ramen was delicious as always, but I noticed they now serve pork shoulder instead of pork belly for the chashu. I personally prefer pork belly chashu, so I was a bit disappointed. Ordering through the touch panel makes it difficult to customize the firmness or oiliness of the noodles. The staff seemed busy, so I didn't want to bother them with special requests. I always end up ordering the regular option. It would be more convenient if we could specify our preferences on the touch panel. Overall, the ramen was very tasty today.

Last time, the Jomon Ramen I had was supposed to have more spiciness, with a red soup and the chashu pork shaped into round pieces, but something was off. When I mentioned it, they said, "It's supposed to be like this!" Maybe they're right (laughs). Oh well. The roasted pork bowl was delicious though. The zangi was a bit too mushy, I wish it was crispier (laughs). If you don't think of it as Jomon Ramen, it was actually very tasty.

Today, I visited Jomon after camping. The restaurant was crowded during lunchtime. I waited for about 10 minutes before being seated at a table. I ordered the coarse salt ramen with extra pork fat and a small portion of fried rice. It was served in about 15 minutes. The soup had a rich flavor of seafood and garlic, and the pork fat added a nice richness to the broth. The noodles were delicious and paired well with the soup. The thick and tender chashu was my favorite. The fried rice was light and fluffy, and the pickled ginger complemented it well. Overall, the flavors were well-balanced, and I would definitely come back again.

I ordered the popular coarse soy sauce ramen and rich fish sauce soy sauce ramen. I placed the order on a tablet, but had to flag down a busy staff member to specify my preferences for the taste and noodle firmness. When I requested a seat by the chair, I was told that I couldn't move because my order was taken at that spot. However, my table ended up receiving the wrong ramen order, which made me question the point of using tablets for ordering. The staff seemed disorganized, and the kitchen was chaotic. The ramen was too sweet for my liking, with both the broth and noodles having an oddly sweet taste. My wife struggled to finish her bowl, and I ended up leaving more than half of mine uneaten.

A popular restaurant in Tomakomai known for its strong flavors and memorable dishes. They offer ramen with a powerful punch, as well as curry and fried rice that have gained many fans. This restaurant is actually a sibling of the popular Sapporo restaurant "Ramen Yugetsu," but this one is considered the original and main branch. The signature dish at Yugetsu, the Escalator Ramen, is not available here. The Special Shoyu Ramen costs 780 yen, and a small bowl of rice is an additional 100 yen. I have been coming here for 25 years and I find it reminiscent of Junren or Tetsuya's style. The Special Shoyu Ramen has a rich soup with a slightly sweet soy sauce topping and a hint of back fat. The sweetness is not to my liking, but the overall base is delicious, with a gentle saltiness that satisfies my ramen cravings. However, like the Jomon Miso, they could be more adventurous with the flavors. The cleanliness of the restaurant has improved since there were complaints about oil stains in the past. There are many staff members, but the main chef has remained consistent over the years, providing a sense of stability. It's reassuring to see the company president still involved in the kitchen.

Today's lunch. It's already the fourth time. I think the side dishes at this restaurant are actually delicious. The fried rice, pork bowl, and curry are all good. Even though it's a ramen shop, I always end up ordering the mini size, but maybe the regular size on its own would be fine. The ramen is generally tasty, but sometimes the saltiness and oiliness can be a bit much, and it also depends on my own condition, you know.

Today's lunch. I went to Jomon Ramen for the first time in a while. This is my second time here, and I was impressed by the Chashu Don last time. I often come to Tomakomai for work on Wednesdays, but since it's their regular holiday, I couldn't come here much. Today, I ordered the Jomon Ramen with a mini curry set and added egg and green onions on top. Jomon Ramen is said to be a spicy ramen, but when I saw it, it looked like it had chili oil like Miyazaki's spicy noodles, but it's not spicy at all. That's because the umami is amazing. It reminds me of the umami in soup curry, it's addictive. The curry is also authentic and has a thick, well-cooked roux. It's delicious too. I'm not sure about the overall menu since there are various options, but both the noodles and rice are delicious. Please try it out. Highly recommended.
