The soft and flavorful broth, well-cooked aburaage, and perfectly coated udon noodles... It was truly delicious kitsune udon. The mini oyakodon that came with it was also tasty, so I'm convinced that their dashi broth is excellent.

I was drawn to this restaurant because of its historical connection to Kitsune Udon. It is a traditional udon shop. I ordered the Kitsune Udon with extra toppings (tax included 900 yen). The udon noodles are soft and chewy, known as "Osaka-style udon." The broth is light yet flavorful. The fried tofu topping is very generous and soaked in delicious broth. It's interesting to think that Kitsune Udon originated here in 1883, and you can feel the essence of Osaka's food culture while enjoying it.

The shop is said to be the birthplace of kitsune udon, but this time I ordered the high-color udon. On top were tenkasu, oboro kombu, kamaboko, and green onions. The bowl was a bit small, but the overall portion was just right. It might not be enough for those who are very hungry or men, but it was perfect for me. The noodles had a nice firmness to them. The broth was especially delicious, and I couldn't help but drink it all up. I feel like I'll be back here again soon!

The original creator of kitsune udon is confirmed to be this restaurant. The kitsune udon has a delicious broth with a hint of kelp flavor. The kitsune itself is sweet, not too salty. The taste of the kitsune udon was very pleasing, and the kitsune don was incredibly delicious. It was a simple and pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the meal!

Located on the street east of Shinsaibashi Suji Shopping Street, between Shinsaibashi Station and Hommachi Station, is an udon restaurant. It is said to be the birthplace of kitsune udon. I had kitsune udon for 600 yen and onigiri for 110 yen. The large piece of aburaage in the kitsune udon was not as sweet as I expected. The soft noodles of Osaka-style udon were delicious with tasty broth. The onigiri had bonito flakes inside and was served with salted kelp. There were many foreign customers, and it seemed that many people ordered the famous dish of ojiya udon, where udon is placed on top of a rice porridge. I went during a quiet time, and it was impressive to see the owner flipping a 5-digit abacus while tallying up the bills.

During my business trip in Osaka, I had curry for lunch but still had room in my stomach. I decided to try udon noodles at Usamitei Matsubaya, a long-established restaurant that has been around for about 130 years and is known for originating kitsune udon. This time, I ordered kitsune toji udon.
The kitsune toji udon had a fluffy egg floating on top. The kitsune, which I imagined to be square and spread out, turned out to be a tightly packed fried tofu. It was sweet in flavor. The udon noodles were delicious, with the broth being the highlight. The broth was mild and gentle, yet flavorful enough to make me finish every drop. To enjoy the broth, the noodles, fried tofu, and even some pieces of wheat gluten were included. This combination was a perfect match and very tasty.
The atmosphere of the building was also nice, and the service was efficient and lively, typical of Osaka. The staff engaged in friendly banter, creating a lively atmosphere. This traditional restaurant in Osaka truly lived up to its reputation. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited the restaurant a little after noon. I had some errands nearby, so I decided to stop by this place that has been featured in various media. It was just past lunchtime and raining, so I was able to get in easily. Although it wasn't full, there was a steady stream of customers. I felt lucky that the weather wasn't good, as it made it easier to get a table. The photo shows the famous pork tempura bowl and udon set. The pork tempura bowl was delicious. Of course, the udon was also very tasty with flavorful broth. If you love udon, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

The fox udon for 600 yen and a rice ball for 110 yen caught my attention, so I visited for the second time. Today, I had a late lunch around 5 pm, and the restaurant was quiet with only one other group of customers. The sweet fried tofu in the fox udon was juicy and delicious with every bite. The sweetness soaked into the broth, and it paired well with the rice ball. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Yakushiji Saaya-sama (Cure Ange) Birthday Celebration Before the birthday celebration, I had been wanting to go to a restaurant that claims to be the birthplace of "kitsune udon" but due to location constraints, I kept postponing it. The atmosphere there was lively and the "kitsune udon" was delicious, spreading happiness all around! The udon noodles were a bit soft, similar to standing noodles at the train station, and the broth was not very impressive. The "kitsune udon" onigiri was one piece.

I went to work on a Saturday and had lunch here. I entered at 12:10 and was seated right away. Even though I was dining alone, they sat me at a table for four. This place is known for being the birthplace of kitsune udon, so I was excited to try it, but ended up ordering the udon set instead. I couldn't resist a set meal. It came with plain udon, a small tempura rice bowl, and pickles for 800 yen. The price was reasonable for this location. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Menu: Zaru Udon Set 800 yen + Udon extra 100 yen
I heard that this is the birthplace of Kitsune Udon, so I visited with the intention of eating Kitsune Udon. As the temperature rose, I was craving something cold when I arrived. Also, it's a kind of in-between season, so the air conditioning wasn't on and it was hot. So, I ended up ordering the Zaru Udon Set. The noodles were cold and perfect for this time of year. It was delicious. The mini tendon that came with it added to the volume. Even with the extra noodles, it was still under 1,000 yen. It's great that old restaurants like this have affordable prices. I'll come back to try the Kitsune Udon next time. Thank you for the meal.

Established in the 26th year of the Meiji era❗️ This is the origin of Kitsune Udon, a shop that has been in business for over 120 years. Located a short distance from the Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street, I arrived a little before 12:00 and was able to get in without waiting in line. However, just 5 minutes later, there was a line outside. The menu I ordered included... ✅ Kitsune Udon for 600 yen ✅ Onigiri for 120 yen. The Kitsune Udon came in a small bowl, so I decided to add onigiri from the start. The udon had a very rich and soft texture, absorbing the broth so well. It had a gentle texture that was more prominent than the firmness, typical of Kansai-style udon. The onigiri had a homemade feel, seasoned with salt, seaweed, and even salted kelp. With a menu that has been around for over 120 years, it's clear that there is a reason why it has been loved for so long. If you want to experience the history of Kitsune Udon, be sure to visit this place. About an 8-minute walk north from Namba Station on the Osaka Metro, you'll find a traditional udon restaurant with a nostalgic atmosphere. Upon entering, you'll experience a classic udon shop just as you imagined. I ordered the Kitsune Udon for 600 yen, and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. The dish came with sweet and savory fried tofu, green onions, fish cakes, and yuzu, all arranged in a traditional manner. The dipping sauce was rich in seafood flavors, and the udon noodles were soft and easy to eat, typical of Osaka-style udon. Delicious!

I'm "Noronori", mainly walking around and having lunch in Sakai. I found this place while walking. It seems to be the birthplace of kitsune udon? I have to try it (`ー´)ノ The old-fashioned interior is like a udon shop from my childhood. The kitsune udon costs 600 yen and the broth is delicious! The fried tofu also has a sweet taste. It warmed both my stomach and heart (*^-^*) Being sent off with a "thank you" really gives off a merchant town vibe. Thank you for the meal.

Invited by the spring sunshine, I went on a lunch expedition to a slightly distant area. The charming exterior exuded a delicious aura. This "Osaka Udon" shop boasts an 80-year history and reminded me of somewhere Mr. Imai would frequent. Upon opening the door just before noon, the place was almost full, with guests who came in after me being directed to the second floor. Looking at the menu, there was a wide variety of options, especially many rice bowl dishes like those found in soba shops. I ordered the Udon Set (Mini Oyakodon) for 800 yen. The udon broth was different from the light-colored broth of Sanuki udon. It mainly consisted of kombu and bonito flakes, with a slightly sweet finish which added to its character. The noodles were oval-shaped and medium thickness, and of course, soft. This soft texture is a characteristic of Osaka udon. I personally prefer noodles with more firmness, but these were delicious in their own way. Each area and shop has its own unique characteristics and pride, and I have no intention of denying that. The egg in the oyakodon was also darker in color, and with the right amount of udon broth added, it had a strong umami flavor. I enjoyed it with the chewy chicken. Next time, I've decided to try the "Sukiyaki Udon" after seeing the man next to me enjoy it so much. (The neighboring gentleman was eating it with great relish). Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant "Usamitei Matsubaya" for lunch on this day. The location is conveniently situated between four Osaka Metro stations: Shinsaibashi Station, Hommachi Station, Nagahoribashi Station, and Sakaisuji Hommachi Station. It is a well-known old-fashioned restaurant in Osaka. I had been wanting to visit it, so I stopped by while I was nearby for work. The atmosphere was very traditional and calming. I ordered the "Osaka Ojiya Udon" for 1,050 yen (tax included), a unique combination of carbohydrates and carbohydrates. The Ojiya Udon arrived in a hot square iron pot! It looks like a hot pot udon, but underneath the udon, there is plenty of rice. It was very hot and heartwarming, a comforting meal. Personally, I think the red pickled ginger and rolled omelette that come as toppings are the highlights. Thank you for the meal!!

Located slightly outside the arcade shopping street, this restaurant is known as the birthplace of Kitsune Udon, which I had been curious about for a while. Naturally, I ordered the Kitsune Udon (600 yen). The interior of the restaurant is quiet, with only the sounds coming from the kitchen. The atmosphere is solemn and very calming. The udon that arrived was piping hot. The broth was rich and delicious. The sweetness of the fried tofu was just right. It seems that this restaurant is more beloved by locals than it appears, as there were few people ordering Kitsune Udon. I had a great time in a wonderful space.

Famous for its udon and original kitsune udon in Osaka. I have been here before and it brings back memories of Osaka udon. It's not as firm as Sanuki udon, but Osaka's Yamai udon is delicious in its own way. A popular choice this season is the "Ojiya udon". The parent and child udon is not too sweet and has a flavor I like.

It seems to be the origin of Kitsune Udon. They also have a specialty called Ojya Udon! It has rice and udon in it, so I really want to try it! There are various types of Ojya Udon available! There were several types of Ojya Udon. The tempura Ojya Udon looked delicious, but today I chose the oyster Ojya Udon! I thought I would be really full with rice and udon, but it was just the right amount. It was delicious. I will definitely come back!
