It's so hot every day, I feel like I'm melting! When it's this hot, nothing beats cold udon noodles! I came all the way to Fuse in Osaka to seek some relief from the heat. Fuse is a former place name in Osaka, so the current "Fuse" no longer exists! I didn't know that! Just a few minutes from Kintetsu Fuse Station is a popular udon restaurant on an arcade street. It's called "Junai Udon Nadeshiko." The name "Junai" makes me a little embarrassed! Their "Hiyashi" udon is said to be extremely delicious!!! Plus, their jumbo fried tofu udon made with 100% domestically produced soybeans and 3cm thick, 20cm long fried tofu from Tochio is a specialty. I love kitsune udon! If it's inari age, I'm definitely a fan of the fried tofu! And they're directly imported from Niigata. This has got to be delicious! The Hiyashi udon is priced reasonably compared to the udon capital! The jumbo fried tofu comes in a half size, which is great! Half (half of the fried tofu) 250 yen Jumbo (1 piece of fried tofu) 450 yen I was surprised when the jumbo fried tofu arrived! It's much bigger than I imagined! The sweet and savory broth soaked in the fried tofu is amazing! The broth is carefully prepared for the Hiyashi udon, so the flavor of the dried bonito is strong and very delicious. It's a waste to just put the fried tofu on top, so first savor the Hiyashi udon before diving into the fried tofu! The broth that oozes out from the fried tofu blends with the broth from the Hiyashi udon, creating an exquisite taste! I was wondering how cold fried tofu would taste, but it goes well with the Hiyashi udon. It makes you feel hungry even on hot days when you have no appetite. It's so easy to drink! As for the udon, they use 100% domestically produced wheat (Chikugoizumi from Kyushu, Kitahonami from Hokkaido) to make the chewy noodles with a high water content that I like. It's not too firm, but it's not soft either, it has a firm texture! It's in my top 3 "Hiyashi Udon BEST 3." I'm also impressed by the owner who takes the time to greet each customer despite being busy. I definitely want to come back during the summer! Thank you for the meal!

Soft and chewy, yet firm udon noodles with a good texture are great! I visited a popular udon restaurant in Fuse, Osaka for the first time! I visited on a Saturday at noon and was seated immediately without waiting outside! The restaurant is located in a corner of a shopping street, blending into the atmosphere of the town! I ordered the tempura chicken udon! The udon noodles were soft and chewy, yet firm with a good texture! It was delicious!

Once again, I was swayed by the ratings on Tabelog. Near Fuse Station, there were quite a few customers even after 1:30 PM. The udon set arrived promptly. It was a generous portion and great value for money! The taste was delicious, but personally, I found the donburi more tasty than the udon. I had high expectations based on the ratings, so even though it was delicious, I ended up feeling a bit disappointed.

I visited the restaurant just before 2 pm in the midst of a severe thunderstorm. There were hardly any people inside the shop. I thought it might be because of the time. I quickly ordered a large kake udon. It came out right away. The broth had foam floating on it, which made me lose my appetite just by looking at it. The noodles were not well-defined and slightly sticky, and I thought the portion was small for a large size. The broth was cloudy with white powder or white liquid from the udon, lacking richness and disappointing. I was surprised to be charged 850 yen for this. While it may be relatively inexpensive compared to other heavily garnished menu items, I wish they would value those who specifically order udon noodles more. This seems to be a common issue not limited to this particular shop, but among Kansai-style Sanuki udon restaurants.

I ordered it despite not liking it that much because of the impact. It wasn't as sweet as I had imagined... I guess it's my own fault. The noodles were similar to the ones I had in Kagawa recently, like Seto Hare, which is in the same direction. As someone who generally prefers firm noodles, it didn't quite match my taste. However, it wasn't completely lacking in texture and was still delicious.

I lose my motivation to go out in this scorching heat with the consecutive "heatstroke alert" being issued... I don't have much of an appetite, but on such hot days, I crave something cold to eat. So, I decided to visit a smooth and delicious udon restaurant called "Nadeshiko" in Fuse. I walked into the restaurant, looked at the menu, and ordered this: The Wood Leaf Set - which includes Wood Leaf Don with a choice of cold udon with a dipping sauce, hot udon with broth, udon with broth and soy sauce, or curry udon, with the option of extra rice or medium-sized udon for free. Of course, the cold udon with dipping sauce was the only choice for me... During this season, there are no other options. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a light finish and a refreshing aftertaste. The udon had a firm texture with a smooth and easy-to-swallow throat sensation. And the highlight of the meal was the Wood Leaf Don with deliciously seasoned dried shiitake mushrooms. The sweet and savory flavor of the dish made the rice incredibly appetizing. The overall presentation was well-balanced and satisfying. It was a delightful meal.

It's true, saying "Welcome!" feels so nice!! You can feel the owner's love for the customers in this shop! Today's recommendation was so good! I just said "Today's special, please!" and ordered it haha. Cold noodles are the best in this hot weather ✨ The tempura portion was huge!!! I'm so happy with the mixed rice!! I came here because I had some business nearby! I thought there would be a line, but I was able to enter smoothly. They even provided a 4-person table with sturdy chairs for children, which was much appreciated. I ordered my usual chicken tempura on rice, and my husband got the large portion. While waiting, more and more customers kept coming in. The place quickly became full. Luckily, we came in at the right time. The food arrived! The noodles were just the way I like them - not too thick, with a nice chewy texture! The broth was also really delicious. The chicken tempura was made with breast meat, which was good, but the thigh meat was the best part. Overall, it was a great place to be in! Chicken tempura udon (large serving) Visited on the middle day of the three-day weekend in July, on Sunday at 12:45. It seems like we timed it well because we were able to sit at a table with no wait for our family of three. They offer an even larger serving up to extra-large, which is 750g. We decided to go with the large serving for the chicken tempura udon. It arrived in just over 10 minutes. The noodles were a bit soft. It was a bit disappointing that the chicken tempura was made with breast meat, but the atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice.

I visited the restaurant just after it opened at 11:15 am. There are 4 counter seats and 4 tables. It may vary depending on the day, but visiting right after opening is a good idea. They offer 2 types of curry, 4 types of rice bowls, and 4 types of udon in the "Nadeshiko Set". You can get a free upgrade to a large portion of rice or medium portion of noodles. Of course, they also have individual menu items. I ordered the Katsudon with cold kitsune udon. It cost 1300 yen and arrived in about 7 minutes. The udon noodles are a bit chewy but also have a firm texture. The thick fried tofu is just right in the set. It has a slightly sweet flavor. The cold dashi broth goes well with the fried tofu. The base is so good that even just with tempura or plain, it should be delicious. The Katsudon has a generous amount of egg on top. The thickness of the meat is just right. It has a balanced flavor, not too sweet or too spicy. The restaurant is clean and the service is very pleasant. With such great taste, it's no wonder this place is popular.

I found this restaurant on Tabelog. The interior is spacious with high ceilings, giving a bright and open feel. Upon entering, we were greeted with a cheerful "Irasshaimase." I ordered the Mini Nikudon Set (mini beef bowl with sea bream and scallop dashi soy sauce udon). The udon was chewy and delicious. The mini nikudon had warm rice and a bit less broth, but the meat was large in size, maybe because it's a mini size beef bowl?

I had seen this restaurant a few times in the media and visited it around noon on a holiday. It was still before the peak time so I was able to enter immediately, but by the time I left, there was a line outside. I was torn between the curry and chicken, but ended up ordering the Kitsune Jumbo Udon (cold) for 980 yen. The fried tofu had a good sweetness at first, but I started to feel a bit tired of it halfway through. It might have been better to eat it warm. The udon had smooth noodles and didn't have much flavor. I'd like to try a different menu next time.

While on my way to work, I had a chance to have lunch near Higashi Osaka after a long time. I vaguely remember visiting this area before, possibly when I was in Yamatokoriyama, Nara. The restaurant is located a few minutes south of Fuse Station on the Kintetsu Line, on a street that feels like a shopping district. The interior has a counter and table seats, with a relaxed atmosphere. I decided to order the cold kake don and the egg kake gohan separately. The cold kake don had a refreshing and flavorful broth, with chewy and well-cooked noodles that were easy to slurp. The egg on the egg kake gohan was a vibrant yellow color, and it was delicious with the original dashi soy sauce made from sea bream and scallops. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. I searched for lunch near Busse Station and decided to try Sanuki Udon Nadeshiko because it was different from a ramen shop. They had lunch sets with options like Katsudon and Curry Udon. I ordered the Curry Udon, which had a slightly thick consistency and a good amount of spice. The udon noodles were soft yet had a nice chewy texture, and were delicious. The egg in the Katsudon was cooked just right, not too runny, which I liked. However, I felt that the pepper on the tonkatsu was a bit overpowering and interfered with the broth, which was a bit disappointing.

On this day, I came to Fuso in search of delicious udon (*>∀<)ノ♪ I arrived at a popular shop called Junai Udon Nadeko, about a 5-minute walk from Fuso Station. I lined up early to enter the store when it opened (^^) I ordered the signature menu item, Kitsune Jumbo Udon, which you can choose to have hot or cold. I chose the cold option. The udon arrived in about 10 minutes (*>∀<)ノ♪ The beautifully chilled udon, served separately from the condiments and the oversized fried tofu, was delicious. The udon had a smooth texture with a firm bite, and it paired perfectly with the cold soup seasoned with iriko (dried sardine). The soup for hot udon is made with sea bream broth, showing the shop's dedication to quality. I would like to try the hot version too (´,,•﹃ •,,`) I added condiments (ginger, green onion) and the jumbo fried tofu to complete the dish. The fried tofu, made with thick Tochio fried tofu from Niigata, is sweet and juicy, soaking up the soup at the bottom of the bowl. When combined with the udon soup, it becomes incredibly flavorful (*´﹃`*)グヘヘ♡ Overall, the udon had a satisfying and delicious taste. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, making it a great dining experience. As expected, Fussa has a unique atmosphere. The size and thickness of the fried fox are impressive! The hot has a sweetened bonito soup base, while the cold has a refreshing dried fish soup base. There was a comment about the noodles being rubbery, but I didn't find that to be the case. The hot noodles had a good balance of softness and chewiness, while the cold noodles were pleasantly chewy. I definitely want to go back again.

A highly rated udon restaurant in Motomachi, Osaka. My partner and I happened to be in the area near Fuse at night, so we decided to visit after confirming in advance. It was a rare night out for us, and many places near Fuse Station were closed or closing early. As we walked south along the shopping street, we spotted a restaurant on the right side, which was surprisingly empty, probably due to the late hour. We decided to go in and ordered the following: Kinutane Jumbo Udon with 1 piece of fried tofu for 980 yen, and Kinutane Jumbo Udon with half a piece of fried tofu for 880 yen. After a short wait, our dishes arrived. The fried tofu was huge and had a rich flavor, made with Tochio fried tofu from Niigata. The broth had a subtle and delicious taste that soaked into the tofu, making it quite impressive and tasty. As for the noodles, they were firm yet chewy and had a soft texture, typical of Osaka-style udon. The broth was so good that I wanted to drink it all up. It was a perfect match with the udon noodles. Tried the Kitsune Jumbo Udon with Agemono Half for 880 yen (tax included), which was listed as a specialty of Nadeshiko. The noodles were medium thick, chewy, and plentiful. The fried tofu was large and about 2cm thick. The broth had a hint of sweetness and was delicious. The condiments were served separately, including green onions, ginger, and tempura crisps on the table. It was very tasty. The rice bowls, curry, and curry udon also looked delicious.
