I went to a station on a different route to buy vegetables, and on the way back, I stopped by with my wife. I bought "Hokki Curry" for ¥1,100 at the ticket machine. I received a number tag and sat at a table for two. After about 5 minutes, my number was called and I went to pick up the curry. There was Fukujinzuke in a separate container, and it was up to me whether to take it or not. The curry only had Hokki fry as the topping. The Hokki fry was delicious. The curry was on the sweeter side. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

A roadside station along the national highway in Teshio Town on the Sea of Japan side of northern Hokkaido. The station includes a restaurant, a shop (inside the restaurant), a souvenir shop (featuring local Teshio products), an information center (although no one was there), and restrooms. I visited at 11 am on a weekday (right after opening), with no customers before or after me. It seems that items from the shop are mixed in the log of the souvenir shop. The shop sells souvenirs, while the souvenir shop sells souvenirs, goods, drinks, and soft serve ice cream. It appears that the souvenir shop does not have a dedicated food review page. I purchased a meal ticket, handed it to the kitchen staff over the counter, and waited to be called when my order was ready. I tried the "Detour Set Meal" (extra large for 800 yen) without any prior research. The name caught my eye, but it turned out to be a set meal similar to a hotel breakfast. It included raw egg, miso soup with clams, pickled vegetables with miso, and a plate with cod roe, canned mackerel, and pickled salted fish. The miso soup had red miso with clams, but the clam broth was almost non-existent. This is Teshio, known for its large clams, but the clams were small and lacked flavor. I wanted the miso soup to have a stronger clam essence. Additionally, there was no homemade feel to the other dishes. While it may be difficult to make everything from scratch due to cost and effort, I wished at least one item stood out as homemade. Overall, it was a bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

Finally, I was able to stop by for lunch and I wanted to try the local specialty, shijimi, so I pressed the stamp to indicate my order. Without hesitation, my finger went to the button for the shijimi salt ramen priced at 1000 yen. I handed over my food ticket and received a numbered card, then waited at the counter for a while. After about 6-7 minutes, my order was called and I received it. The aroma of the sea wafted up from the bowl. The toppings included shijimi, wakame, and green onions, with no chashu. There were a generous 14 large shijimi in the bowl, and the salt-based soup was full of the delicious flavor of shijimi. I couldn't stop eating with the spoon. With this kind of flavor, chashu was unnecessary. The wakame also paired well with this soup. I felt like adding some aosa too. The noodles were thin and crinkly, possibly from a noodle factory around Wakkanai. They mixed well with the soup. It was a satisfying meal for 1000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

Arrived around noon and the restaurant was almost full. Purchased meal tickets for 1,000 yen for clam ramen and 900 yen for miso ramen. It's self-service. The clam ramen was just average, nothing special. The miso ramen lacked flavor and wasn't worth the 900 yen. Maybe I made a mistake by being drawn in by the crowded atmosphere.

I will continue the "Individual Gourmet Series" in the inappropriate style travel log Natsutabi_2021. We lingered until close to checkout time, but the situation did not change as the whole prefecture is experiencing severe rain and wind due to the tropical cyclone that changed from a typhoon. Nayoro is located inland, so we cannot escape to the Pacific side from here, so for now, we will head straight north and think about the future later. Since it is raining heavily, we will only travel on the national highway without venturing onto local roads and head to Tenpoku. This is what you might call Plan C (laughs). So, we decided to have lunch at the restaurant of the Michi-no-Eki Teshio. We were completely soaked, so we minimized the inconvenience to others by shaking off our rain gear outdoors and wiping ourselves with a dry towel at key points before sitting in a corner of the restaurant to wait for our order. I ordered a simple Hokkai curry, but... I was lightly dodged by what I thought would come (embarrassed). It was a ham cutlet version, not what I expected... The ingredients are floating in a curry sauce that you can't even feel. Of course, it is made with 100% Hokkai shellfish, not fried Hokkai ham, with thinly sliced surf clam cutlet that looks like a ham cutlet. The rice and curry also meet the standard of the restaurant at the Michi-no-Eki, so let's give extra points for the surf clam cutlet. Since I have already given up on the northernmost point of Plan A in Nerai, I will head south on the Orolon Line without being able to see the sea properly due to the bad weather.

I took a break from work for lunch. I stopped by the Michi-no-Eki Teshio. When in Teshio Town, you have to try the clams. I ordered the Clam and Salt Ramen for 1,000 yen, with an additional 50 yen for a large serving. The soup was light and refreshing, with clams, seaweed, fish cake, radish, and green onions as toppings. The soup was delicious, with the essence of clams soaking into my stomach. I've heard that clams are good for preventing summer fatigue on TV. It was a great meal.

This is a roadside station where I stopped by on my way to work. Today, I had the Jijimi Ramen in Teshio Town after a long time. The regular size costs 1,000 yen and the large size costs 1,050 yen. It's not a cheap ramen, but the salt ramen soup infused with the essence of Jijimi is a delicious ramen that you can only eat here. The Jijimi I had today was large, fresh, and had no unpleasant smell. I feel like there are fewer Jijimi pieces than before. The large ramen has an extra half portion. It was served in a bowl one size larger than the one for the regular size soy sauce ramen that my friend wanted to eat. It is recommended for those who want to drink a lot of Jijimi soup. I finished the soup. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.

It's rare that I have a backlog of draft reviews... So here is a review from May 2020 for "Michi no Eki Teshio." There are various menus in the restaurant, but I didn't have time to relax, so I just got a "Soft Serve @350" to go. I bought the food ticket and handed it to the counter, and it was served in about 10 seconds. I sat in the eat-in area and tried it. The soft serve had a smooth texture, moderate sweetness, and a rich milky flavor with plenty of condensed milk taste. The portion was just right, not too much or too little, perfect for my dad to enjoy. I sometimes stop by this Michi no Eki, and it always feels empty and lonely. I've been thinking about having a leisurely meal there, but I haven't found the right timing yet... I'll stop by again next time. Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by the "Michi no Eki Teshio Restaurant" on my way back from Wakkanai. It's a restaurant inside the Michi no Eki Teshio where I bought a ticket from the vending machine for a "Soft Serve Ice Cream (waffle cone)" for 350 yen. Simple is best! Vanilla never disappoints. It was delicious! ( ̄∇ ̄*)ゞ

I visited for lunch. On my way back from a business trip, I stopped by. It's been a while since I visited during business hours. It's my first time at this restaurant. I couldn't decide between ramen and curry, but this time I ordered the "Hokuyose Curry". It looks like katsu curry. They cut the Hokuyose into big pieces. Personally, I thought it was just okay. Next time, I want to come back to try the ramen. Thank you for the meal!

On August 25th at 12:30, I was tired from visiting so I took a break at a roadside station. I realized I hadn't tried any Hokkaido food yet, so I decided to have some. This time, I tried the Surf Clam Curry for 900 yen. I bought a meal ticket from the vending machine and handed it to the staff, who then guided me to the counter in the back. The wait was about 10 minutes. When my number was called, I picked up my order. Please refer to the image for the appearance. It was a curry without any toppings, with fried surf clams. The clams weren't freshly fried, maybe the oil was bad or they used cheap oil at a low temperature? There's nothing particularly delicious about their specialty dishes. I recommend the salt ramen. Thank you for the meal.

We are traveling on the Japan Sea side with two people!! This time we are at the Michi-no-Eki in Teshio, aiming for the "Teshio Clam Salt Ramen." It doesn't have sea urchin in it... seems like a strange meal at an odd time that you can only think of during a trip. It costs 1,000 yen at the ticket machine, even though it's clam, it's still expensive. Nevertheless, this place is bustling with everyone eating ramen. The poster is promoting the "Clam Ramen," but they felt the need to handwrite a disclaimer saying "No sea urchin included." Why do they need such an excuse for a "Clam Ramen"? The poster has sea urchin on it, so maybe they should remake it? You get called in about 10 minutes, the ticket is like a plastic card, nostalgic. The clam is good, but the seaweed is unnecessary, it spoils the clam broth. It's a light salt ramen but still has a good broth flavor and richness. My wife says she can taste the clam broth, but I can't really tell. Well, it's undeniably delicious. After going back and forth a few times, I started to feel the clam broth. The noodles are normal and no complaints. The bamboo shoots have a slight taste, good texture. The naruto has 13 pieces. Compared to Yuu-kae (another shop) which is 100 yen more expensive and has over 30 pieces, this one loses. It's disappointing that there's no chashu on a 1,000 yen ramen. It was a delicious ramen, but the lack of chashu and the price of 1,000 yen for 3.3, my wife said 3.5. Even after finishing the meal, they were rushing customers who were taking their time, asking "Have you finished your meal?" Well, I think it's the fault of the customers who are taking their time even when they're busy.

I heard that the hokki curry was delicious so I tried it, but more than anything, it seemed like taking photos inside the restaurant was not allowed. The staff kept staring at the customers, it was kind of funny (laughs).
