"Sousai no Komatsu" is a shop that opened on February 24, 2012. It is located within the Mini Maru Market. The current Mini Maru Market also opened on February 24, 2012, and Sousai no Komatsu opened on the same day. The previous Mini Maru Market was located slightly away from its current location. After relocating to the current location, Sousai no Komatsu opened for business. The previous location of Mini Maru Market used to be a larger market called Maruyama Market, which closed on March 31, 2010. Three shops within Maruyama Market laid the foundation for Mini Maru Market. I visited the current location of Mini Maru Market on its opening day. Sousai no Komatsu is a store that specializes in handmade Japanese side dishes. The prices were not particularly cheap. I visited the shop a few times shortly after its opening, but recently visited after a long time. The shop is located in the Maruyama area of Chuo Ward, Sapporo, near Miyanomori Kita 1-jo Street. For the exact location of the shop, please check on Tabelog. On my first visit on the opening day in 2012, there were no special deals or promotions for the opening day. I only bought my favorite, "Miso-marinated Mackerel." It was not cheap, but the mackerel was decently sized and tasted good. The price was around 380 yen. I also bought dishes like "Chikuzen-ni" on subsequent visits. This year, I visited after a long time. The variety of products has significantly increased since the opening. The shopkeeper is still good at recommending dishes. Initially, the shop had a counter with fried side dishes, but this time they also had bento boxes. I bought the "Miso-marinated Mackerel" which was good as always, "Potato Salad," and the seasonal "Wakasagi Tempura from Abashiri" recommended by the shopkeeper. The Miso-marinated Mackerel was still good, with only a 10 yen price increase due to the tax increase. The mackerel pieces were slightly smaller, but that was understandable. The "Wakasagi Tempura from Abashiri" was a bit soggy, so my companion lightly fried it again, making it taste better. Abashiri's Wakasagi is known for its delicious taste. The "Potato Salad" was not to my liking, perhaps it was just this time. The prices of the products have not changed much in the past three years, making it more affordable. Operating a small market like this is challenging compared to large supermarkets. I hope they continue to do well. They have now provided a few parking spaces for market customers, which was not available before. This makes it more convenient for customers. I wonder what I should try next time, maybe the Miso-marinated Mackerel again. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.
