I went to Sakikura's all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant! Probably a limited-time offer during the state of emergency, the lunch on weekends and holidays costs 1680 yen and includes 29 types of sushi, appetizers, and all-you-can-drink soft drinks. Normally, I stick to 7-8 plates at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but this time I aimed to double that amount! When I arrived, I was served a starter set of 5 assorted sushi, dashimaki tamago, salad, edamame, potato fries, and crab soup. You can ask for refills on everything except the salad. I chose green tea as my drink, fitting for a sushi meal. After finishing the sushi, I quickly finished the starter set and moved on to the main event! Below are the items I ate and my thoughts on them, with the number of servings in parentheses.
- Scallop (10)... Honestly, I came for this. The sweet and plump scallops were delicious, and I never got tired of eating them.
- Salmon roe (4)... It was delicious with a nice popping texture. Unfortunately, I could only eat it at the beginning and end due to thawing issues.
- Eel (4)... It had a moderate amount of fat, making it easy to eat. Personally, I love the sauce more than the eel itself.
- Crab (4)... The shredded crab meat was a bit watery, which was disappointing.
- Sea bream (2)... Light and refreshing, I could eat endless amounts of this.
- Beef tongue (2)... The chewy texture and savory flavor paired perfectly with wasabi.
- Beef sashimi (2)... It was my first time trying this, and it was delicious! It had a melt-in-your-mouth texture similar to beef cutlets.
- Basil salmon (2)... Uncommon for sushi, but the seared salmon with cheese and basil sauce was an amazing combination.
- Tuna mayo (2)... I know it's cheap, but I've always liked it, so I couldn't resist.
- Grilled stingray fin (1)... The only appetizer I ordered. It was tough but became more delicious as I chewed, especially with the shichimi mayo.
- Vanilla ice cream (11)... I initially ordered one scoop, but they allowed up to four scoops, so I went all out. It was perfect for refreshing my palate between dishes and as a dessert.
In the end, I ate a total of 37 pieces of sushi, along with appetizers and ice cream, making it a great deal compared to regular conveyor belt sushi. The quality of items like scallops, salmon roe, and beef sashimi was satisfying. However, it seemed like the kitchen was understaffed, with one person handling the sushi and gunkan sushi. Delays started to become noticeable around the third plate, and while it didn't bother me much due to the other dishes I had ordered, it could be frustrating for those waiting only for sushi. If they extend the promotion, I hope they improve on this aspect. I would love to visit again if they do. Thank you for the meal.
