Visited twice during the day on November 22, 2021, and November 23, 2021, after a gap of 6 years and 1 month since the last visit to the old location in October 24, 2015. The previous location was near Tsukomori Station, a branch line of Nankai called the Nankai Shiomibashi Line, which had limited train services and was not easily accessible. The new location near Okunicho Station has greatly improved accessibility. This udon restaurant can be considered a top runner in the Kansai region. The udon, broth, and tempura are all excellent. Even on weekends, there was no waiting time to enter, and the wait for the food was around 10-15 minutes. The service was friendly and impeccable. They have continued to prioritize serving freshly boiled udon, natural broth, and freshly fried tempura since the opening, maintaining their original commitment to quality. The udon noodles are thick, providing a chewy texture when cold, but a softer texture when served warm. Personally, I prefer the warm udon. The broth is based on kombu, with a traditional Kansai-style broth for warm udon. The tempura is also outstanding, with a perfect level of frying. In particular, the conger eel tempura was thick and flavorful, truly delicious. Each udon order is boiled upon request, with a wait time of 10-15 minutes for the food to be served, and a meal usually takes around 20-30 minutes. The restaurant is currently open only for lunch (10:00-15:00). Lunch on Tuesday, September 5th at #Ogunicho, where I had handmade udon noodles topped with tempura. I had the cold udon noodles for 630 yen, while my companion had the plum and seaweed udon for 750 yen. We also ordered a lunch service set with mixed rice for 150 yen, and a tempura set with chikuwa, squid, and half-boiled egg for 910 yen. "I decided, 'Today I will definitely order something other than Katsu Curry Udon!' and visited (lol). When I looked at today's recommendations, ⚫︎ Kama-age Shirasu Shoyu Udon Set for 900 yen ⚫︎ Bukkake Udon Set (hot/cold) for 880 yen sounded good! Sounds good~ I hate the hot summer as a chubby person! Just imagining slurping cold udon makes it seem delicious (*^◯^*) I entered the restaurant, sat down, and looked at the menu again. The words that came out of my mouth were, '#Katsu Curry Udon please'... My face probably looked like regretting my weak will. Why can't I stick to the decision I made in front of the restaurant!! In my 50 years of life, I have faced some difficult decisions. However! I have always made decisions without wavering, even if it meant losing out. First visit to Katsu Curry Udon - Curry Udon with rice is a limited item that I wanted to try once. I arrived at the restaurant on a weekday afternoon and there were 4 people ahead of me. I wrote my name down and waited for about 15 minutes. During the wait, I was asked for my order and whether I wanted complimentary rice. Despite watching my calories, I couldn't resist and opted for the rice. Once inside the restaurant, I was soon served. The freshly fried tonkatsu and flavorful curry broth were very appetizing. The curry broth had a deep flavor with a rich umami taste from the dashi. The katsu was crispy and delicious, enveloped in the curry broth. Underneath the katsu, there was fried tofu and pork belly, providing a variety of flavors to enjoy. I took a bite of the rice with the katsu - a perfect match! Ordering the complimentary rice was a good decision. The udon noodles were homemade and had a firm texture that paired well with the curry broth. I thought about trying the cold udon with dashi next time. I enjoyed the unique texture of the udon while savoring the delicious curry broth. The happy time passed by quickly. Thank you for the meal!

The summer vacation is still going on♪ It feels like it's been a long one this year (^▽^;) I've made it to Okuni Town. There's already a line forming in front of the popular restaurant, Tenkon Morisaki, as many people's summer vacation has already ended. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes, I finally got a seat. I ordered the recommended Katsu Curry Udon. It was a lunchtime rush with many salarymen. For an additional 150 yen as part of the lunch special, I chose the mixed rice. The Katsu Curry Udon set costs 1,200 yen plus 150 yen for the mixed rice. The Katsu Curry Udon was huge! The tonkatsu was big, perfect for big eaters. The crispy batter was delicious on its own♥️ The curry had a strong dashi flavor with a hint of spiciness. The udon had a firm texture even when soaked in the hot curry, making it a high-quality udon dish. The mixed rice was just average. I regretted getting it instead of just regular white rice to go with the curry udon. Despite the scorching heat of over 37 degrees, I didn't hesitate to order the curry udon. I really do love curry after all (lol). Once again, I was sweating buckets and my nose was running ( ̄/ ;\ ̄)ズルズル Thanks for the meal m(_ _)m

I tried the Toriten Curry Udon at a popular udon restaurant. The curry flavor was average, but the udon was freshly boiled with a good texture. The Toriten was generous in portion and also hot and crispy. Next time, I want to try the basic Kake Udon.

Once again, I visited the store after going to Kizu Market. I arrived at 11:25 and wrote my name on the waiting board, but I couldn't get in on the first round and had to wait for 30 minutes. As my turn approached, they took my order, so I didn't have to wait long after being seated. I ordered the large shrimp tempura on noodles and the recommended dish of shiitake mushrooms and dried squid tempura with cold udon noodles. For the rice, I could choose between mixed rice and rice with raw egg, so I chose mixed rice. As always, the staff were friendly and provided excellent service, and the food was delicious.

Today, I was in Namba, so I decided to visit "Handmade Udon Tenpura Mori"! There were lots of signatures from Yoshimoto comedians who often visit the place. On a hot day like today, I wanted something hot to eat, so I ordered the Katsu Curry Udon! It arrived in about 10 minutes and it was really high quality curry udon! The noodles were a bit chewy, but still delicious. The feeling of happiness after eating something delicious is indescribable! Thank you for the meal!

I visited the popular udon restaurant "Handmade Udon Tenkomori" in Daikoku Town. I arrived around 11:40 am and found two people waiting outside, but there was no movement for a while! Even the regular customers who had written their names on the waiting board and lined up seemed puzzled. Finally, a staff member came out and explained that a group of customers had entered, causing the delay. After waiting for about 45 minutes, I finally got inside. The restaurant was mostly filled with Asian tourists who seemed to be enjoying their time chatting even after finishing their meals. I ordered the "Tendon Set" (880 yen) which came with a tempura bowl and a small udon. The tempura bowl was delicious, but the tempura sauce was a bit light. The small udon with green onions was also very tasty. The menu offers a variety of udon dishes such as curry udon, bukkake udon, zaru udon, nama shoyu udon, and kamaage udon.

Sometimes I visit this shop and tried their Katsu Curry Udon for the first time. The katsu is delicious, but personally, I feel the curry broth is lacking. However, the udon is delicious. The udon is delicious. Lately, I feel like the menu has gotten too big. Stick to the regular udon because it's delicious!

Today I had chicken tempura curry udon and tamago kake gohan. I ate a lot (laughs). The curry udon here is amazing! Even though I usually prefer cold udon, I couldn't help but enjoy the taste. It's consistently delicious. The combination of curry udon and tamago kake gohan is surprisingly addictive, so if you're curious, definitely give it a try!

Ordered the Katsu Udon set. The Katsu Udon had a subtle acidity in the broth and the meat was cooked just right, making it delicious. However, on such a hot day, the cold chicken tempura udon might have been a better choice. The set came with salmon rice instead of mixed rice, but it was basically just rice topped with salmon flakes, which was unnecessary in my opinion. Nevertheless, I was glad to have found delicious Katsu Udon.

I realized that I can't be satisfied with udon unless I go to a specialty udon restaurant! So I decided to go a bit further and visit this place. The seating at the counter and tables was spacious, with the owner making udon while also passing on information about the customers outside to the staff - impressive multitasking. The udon was explained accurately as well. "Wow, this place has high ratings on Tabelog, so I might have high expectations..." I thought as I waited for my udon. Finally, I met the udon. It had a glossy appearance and a firm texture, with delicious broth! I visited three udon restaurants today, but I finally found the real deal! It was incredibly delicious. I will definitely come back again.

This is a lunch-only restaurant. During Golden Week, there is always a line outside during the day. You write your name on a paper in front of the store and wait. After about 25 minutes, I was able to enter the store. It's a small place with 4 counter seats and about 4 tables. I ordered plum and seaweed udon with chikuwa tempura. They take pride in serving freshly made and boiled udon, which is why it takes some time, as mentioned on the menu. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The broth is light and delicious. The udon has a good chewy texture. It's perfect for a hangover the next day. The plum has just the right amount of acidity and sweetness, and there's plenty of seaweed. The tempura is crispy and freshly fried. Self-service udon restaurants really are in a league of their own.

There is an udon restaurant located a 2-3 minute walk to the right of exit 4 of the Daikokucho Subway Station. A few minutes further down the road is the popular ramen shop Muteppou. I arrived 30 minutes before opening and saw a paper with two names already written on it outside the shop. I added my name and took a short walk around the area. The shop opened 5 minutes before the scheduled time, and customers were guided in based on the order of the names on the paper. The popular menu item here seems to be the curry udon, but I ordered my usual dish - the Toriten Bukkake (cold) for 1050 yen. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes. The noodles had a nice firm texture, which I enjoy. The Toriten, made with chicken breast, had a crispy exterior and juicy interior, making it delicious. I personally prefer the broth to be a bit richer.

Chicken tempura at udon restaurants always tastes so good, right? The tempura is huge, two big pieces! The curry broth is thick and flavorful. The udon and tempura are both piping hot. The noodles have a nice chewy texture. The curry has a rich and spicy flavor. The tempura is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Don't miss the change in texture as you eat it with the curry broth. The deliciousness of the curry udon is packed in every bite. Mix the leftover sauce with rice for a curry risotto. As expected, this restaurant with long lines doesn't disappoint in taste. Highly recommended! Enjoy your meal!

I got off at Daikokucho and walked a little to get here. I waited in line for about 15 minutes on a weekday at lunchtime. I decided on the chikudama tempura bukkake based on other people's menu choices from the previous day. I also added 3 pieces of toriten. The portion was quite generous. When I slurped the noodles, they were chewy, firm, and had a nice bounce to them. The tempura was crispy and delicious. There was also bonito flakes on top of the noodles, which added a bit of flavor variation. The chikuwa tempura, egg tempura, and chicken tempura were all crispy and delicious. I enjoyed them a lot.

I arrived a little before the opening time on Saturday. There was one person in line ahead of me, but I was able to enter quickly. They even provided a menu with pictures separately, showing great hospitality. I received my meal in about 10 minutes, and as expected, it was a huge portion. I also got a small bowl of rice for free, which made me a bit concerned if I could finish it all. The curry had a nice dashi flavor and some spiciness, making it satisfying and delicious. The noodles were chewy and paired well with the thick curry. The tonkatsu was thick and crispy, providing a good texture. As time passed, the tonkatsu absorbed the curry, creating a different but delicious taste. Both the tonkatsu and curry were piping hot, and even though I have a sensitive tongue, I managed to enjoy it all. I would like to try their tempura and cold udon next time. For lunch on this day, I went to "Handmade Udon Tenkon Mori" in Daikokucho. It was a support lunch for a restaurant that is still open despite the COVID-19 pandemic. I had the "Chicken Tempura Curry Udon" at the udon shop "Handmade Udon Tenkon Mori" located right near Daikokucho subway station. You can get a free serving of rice with the curry udon. I had some errands to run in the Daikokucho area that day, so I couldn't resist stopping by "Tenkon Mori." The curry udon here is a type where curry powder is added to the udon broth to give it a thick texture. The toppings include beef belly, sliced aburaage, diagonally sliced green onions, and two pieces of chicken tempura made with chicken breast meat. This is a typical Osaka-style curry udon with a sweet flavor and a strong beef flavor in the broth. The chicken tempura was quite large and added a satisfying chewiness to the curry udon. While eating the udon, I couldn't help but notice the "Tonkatsu Curry Udon" that other customers were eating! That must be delicious! I'll definitely try the "Tonkatsu Curry Udon" next time! The chicken tempura curry udon was so delicious~~~

I went to a nearby place for work and found a ramen shop and an udon shop. Both were busy, but I chose udon today. The atmosphere of the shop was nice, but it was a bit frustrating to wait outside when there were empty seats. Also, I made a mistake by ordering a set meal with gyudon instead of focusing on udon. Next time, I will make sure to order something that highlights the udon.
