Today's lunch was at a place located about a two-minute walk from Hakken Station. Judging from the photos I checked beforehand, the portions seemed quite generous. It felt like it might be a bit too much for dinner after work, so I decided to visit for lunch instead. Well, the place is on the first floor of an apartment in a residential area, so unless you're a local, you might not find it easily. It's located in a narrow street between a public bathhouse and a barber shop across from Lawson in Kotoni Eicho Street in Hakken. When you see the JR elevated tracks, you're almost there. I knew it opened in the summer of the year before last. There's parking space for one car in front of the shop. I arrived a little before 12 o'clock, with three customers already there and two more coming in later. They seemed to be regulars, chatting with the staff. The interior of the shop has a raised floor where you need to take off your shoes. The seating area itself is on a raised platform. I sat at a table on the platform, but there are also counter seats if you prefer. You have to take off your shoes for those seats, though. Looking at the lunch menu, the specialty here is definitely the spaghetti cutlet. I'm not sure about the regular price for just the cutlet, but during lunchtime, you get the spaghetti cutlet with salad and a soft drink for exactly 1,000 yen. I opted for iced tea as my drink. As I looked closely at the menu, I noticed that you can change the drink to alcohol for an extra 100 yen! So, I couldn't resist changing it to beer (laughs). And it's a small glass of beer, so it's not a big deal. I can drink it as a pre-meal drink. While eating the salad with white sauce, the spaghetti cutlet arrived in about 7 minutes. Well, it's quite smoky, like the Stamina Juicy at Kitamachi (laughs). There's an oil blotting paper in front of it, but the noise and smoke are remarkable. Maybe I should wait for the smoke to clear a bit (laughs). The actual dish looks quite substantial indeed. They bake spaghetti on a hot plate, top it with a not too large cutlet, and pour meat sauce over it. It's a delicious dish, no doubt about it (laughs). The sauce is mild and never gets boring, and the combination of cutlet and meat sauce is just perfect. The top part is soft, while the bottom is crispy and delicious. For dinner, they have a "light drinking set" with appetizers, and a wide variety of drinks, which seems interesting, right? It's close to the station, so I might visit for dinner next time (laughs). It was a restaurant where you could feel the young owner's love for Kushiro. Thank you for the meal.
