I heard that it takes 25 minutes to walk from the nearest station, Higashi Hanazono Station, so I took a taxi to come here ♥️ The taxi driver was so kind, saying "It's about 1.5km one way, I'll wait for you, so go ahead and come back." I really wanted to eat cake at the main store of "Ovun Vuitton", so I went to Oyamadai for just one hour during a business trip. Amazing, amazing, delicious sweets connect people. On September 16, 2023 (Saturday), I tried the dishes Pralin for ¥450 (tax included) and Ma fille for ¥600 (tax included). Pralin is made with plenty of homemade praline, giving it a rich flavor with a crunchy sugar accent. Ma fille is a luxurious chocolate cake with a dense chocolate terrine and two layers of chocolate for added richness. It has a thick and smooth texture, making it a decadent treat.

I walked 1km from Higashihanaoka Station to a highly rated cake shop. They are open mainly on Fridays and Saturdays. I visited for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. The shop is located on the first floor of a stylish building. They offer a variety of cakes, baked goods, and macarons. Although they don't have seating for dining in, you can eat inside if there's no place nearby to enjoy your order. They offered complimentary fruit jam while I was browsing. They served a diluted kiwi and grapefruit jam, which tasted like a refreshing juice with the sweetness of fruits. I tried their Chocolat Frappe for 750 yen. It was served in a tall cup with a macaron, chocolate ganache, crunchy chocolate, whipped cream, meringue, and chocolate cream at the bottom. It was a masterpiece showcasing the skills of the cake shop. I also received a complimentary pie for spending over 1000 yen. It had a crispy crust coated with large sugar crystals, filled with cold cream that was pleasantly sweet. The flavor of the crust was exceptional. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to visit again. As souvenirs, I bought two Financiers for 235 yen each and two bear-shaped treats for 400 yen each.

Cakes, baked goods, and other items all seem to require a lot of care and effort. If I had to choose between light and rich desserts, I would say this place leans towards rich sweets. While cakes are recommended, the summer limited frappes are also very satisfying, so I highly recommend getting them for takeout. (If there's a downside, it would be that the location of the store is very hard to find and parking can be a hassle... (laughs) However, it's such a charming place that it outweighs these challenges.)

Akisan celebrated her birthday at her family's home in Minamikyushu City. She was treated to a birthday celebration with a cream puff from Family Mart. Although it was 4 days late, I was planning to buy a cake and celebrate with her. I have been visiting this shop for a long time, but recently the business days have become fewer, and I only seem to visit on days when they are closed, so I haven't been there in a while. It's a really lovely shop. They used to have a cafe as well, but not anymore. It's been a while since my last visit. But the staff at the shop are as wonderful as ever. Despite being in uniform, they were very kind and provided great service with a smile. Akisan likes cheesecake and pistachio cream, so I made sure to get those. Since they didn't have strawberry shortcake, I bought something similar. Each of us got one strawberry cake, but since Akisan doesn't eat much cheesecake, I asked to split the pistachio cake a bit. Akisan was surprised that I brought something from Kawauchiya on my way home from work, and she was very touched. It's been a while. A really long time since my last visit, but the food is still delicious! I'll make sure to pay attention to their business days and visit again.

Today it was pouring rain. That means there might still be some popular sweets left at the shop! I headed to Rielgu. Even on a weekday around 3pm, popular shops usually have sold out by then, but today there were plenty of items left! I bought three items today, and all of them exceeded or surprised me with flavors beyond what I had imagined from their appearance. I definitely want to come back again.

I have found a very wonderful pastry shop. The taste is not like the typical Japanese cakes that are not too sweet, but rather it has a rich sweetness with plenty of butter, truly reminiscent of French pastries! Each treat is made with high-quality ingredients without compromise. The decorations are minimal and simple, which enhances the flavors even more. They only open twice a week, so I can't buy more until next week...! I always end up buying too much when I go. I want to go every week.

I've been wanting to go to this store for a while. However, I haven't had the chance as their days off often coincided with my days off, and about six months have passed. They seem to be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I checked their Twitter for their operating hours. They were closed for the entire month of January, which makes it quite challenging. Today, I decided to go on a Friday. Luckily, they were open when I arrived by car! You can park about two cars in front of the store, but it's a tight space. The store is very stylish and has a good sense of design. The baked goods and confectioneries are beautifully displayed. I bought a frais and a praline. The frais is a strawberry shortcake! The whipped cream is light and fragrant, with a unique texture that disappears like foam. This makes the shortcake base slightly firm, but it's a genuine shortcake base that feels just right. It made me realize that shortcake bases are supposed to be like this, not like the sponge cake bases you find at regular cake shops. The strawberries were the sweetest and had a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The strawberry really stands out with the cream and cake. There's also a strawberry confiture sandwiched in between. It's a complex cake, but it truly embodies what a strawberry shortcake should be. The praline is a sophisticated cake for adults. The caramel brulee on the surface has a crispy texture. The cake is complex with layers of different textures and flavors. It's like eating a complicated Baumkuchen with a strong nutty flavor. The alcohol is also quite pronounced. The balance of sweetness and bitterness is boldly and intricately expressed in this sophisticated adult cake. It may be too sweet for some, but it's crafted with a lot of skill and dedication to authenticity.

During the New Year holiday, I went on a food tour and visited a new restaurant for the first time. Despite setting the navigation, I missed the small sign and passed by the restaurant once. Eventually, I arrived and ordered a takeout of 5 items: Fraisier, Framboisier, Mille-feuille, Chocolat, and Fromage. I brought them home and shared them with everyone. We tried each item and found that they looked good but were too rich, making it hard to take a second bite. The first bite was sweet, rich, and had a nice texture, but the overwhelming richness made it difficult to continue eating. We ended up leaving some uneaten. Looking forward to the next visit (date TBD).

I visited the restaurant at 13:45 for dessert after calling to see if they were open. They only had gateau chocolat, tarte, chocolat, pudding, and baked goods available, as there were no cakes on weekdays. Currently, there is no eat-in option. Payment through PayPay is accepted. I purchased one tarte assorted, as tarte was the only cake-like option available. It can be kept at room temperature for up to 3 days. I also got one macaron (cassis) for free with a coupon from the Yawata Food Guide. Thank you!

The Mont Blanc and macaron-like desserts I ate on the same day were really delicious, but the strawberry one I had the next day had deteriorated quite a bit. It's rare for something to deteriorate that much, but oh well.

I visited "Rielgu," located about a 12-minute walk from Higashihanaoka Station. The shop can be easily overlooked because the name of another company is larger than the shop's name. Inside the shop, there were not many cake options left due to its popularity. However, I decided to try the "Parfait Chocolat," a limited edition item for this summer. It consisted of two types of chocolate mousse, chocolate brownie, chocolate cream, chocolate sauce, and truffle, allowing you to fully enjoy the taste of chocolate. Despite the abundance of chocolate, it was not too heavy and was enjoyable. I also tried the "Praline," recommended by the chef. It featured layers of sponge and praline cream topped with caramelized sugar, providing a rich buttery flavor from the sponge and a nutty aroma from the praline cream. The occasional crunchy texture from the sugar added an interesting touch to the dessert.

It's been a year since my last visit ♥ The ambiance has changed since the last time I was here, but the lovely Fukurou-san is still here, which is great (*´꒳`*) At Cafe Makadamia Top, I had a cake with a layer of Dillan rum cream topped with plenty of macadamia nuts. The base was a coffee-scented sponge cake with macadamia nuts scattered throughout, creating a sophisticated and adult flavor. The Trini-Te cake used walnuts, hazelnuts, and pistachios, providing a crunchy texture and a balanced sweetness with a hint of berry-like sourness at the bottom. The Ryupiryupi cake had a gentle fruity mousse with a rich pistachio brulee, while the base had a moist pistachio sponge. The Tarte Pomme had a juicy apple filling with a crispy crust, but personally, I preferred the Tarte Apricot over this one. Lastly, the Tarte Apricot had a creamy hazelnut cream and homemade apricot compote, which was delicious with its sweet and sour flavors. I really like the cakes here, they have a good sense of taste. I had been curious about "Rielgu" for a long time. Since I finally had the chance to visit Hanazono, I decided to stop by. It's about a 15-minute walk from Kintetsu's Higashi-Hanazono Station. I walked along a river with nothing around, turned right, and found the shop a little further ahead. The information about the number of seats in the shop made me think I could eat in, but unfortunately, they said there was no seating available. So, I reluctantly purchased only baked sweets. I got two tarts: "Pistachio Orange," which was refreshing with a strong pistachio flavor and a hint of orange, and "Rich Chestnut," which was very rich and had a powerful sweet taste compared to the pistachio. I also tried macarons for the first time, getting "Hazelnut" and "Choco Mint." As a fan of chocolate mint, I found the macaron to be fresh and enjoyable. There were many beautiful cakes and pastries that I couldn't try, which was a real shame. If they no longer offer seating, they should consider removing that information. I hope to visit again if I have the chance.

I passed by this shop on the Higashi-Osaka Street and decided to go in! The shop has a calm atmosphere with white tones both outside and inside. It's a bit understated, so I actually walked past it and then came back (laughs). This time, I bought the recommended Praline and a birthday cake for my wife's friend. The staff's service was great, and I even got to taste some coffee! As for the Praline, the combination of the crispy brulee on top and the layers of cream and buttery flavor below was delicious! I visited "Patisserie Rielgu" in Higashi-Osaka City. There are a few parking spaces in front of the store. The nearest station is Kintetsu Nara Line Higashi Hanazono Station, but it's a bit inconvenient as it's about 1.2 kilometers away. The area around the store has a bit of a factory town atmosphere. The store itself is small, like a part of an office rented out. The beautifully arranged small cakes caught my eye, especially the vivid green "Pistachio Mousse." As a fan of nut-based sweets, I chose this one. There was one table available inside, so I enjoyed my cake there. The smooth texture of the pistachio, with its elegant and fragrant nuttiness, filled my mouth. The sweetness was subtle, emphasizing the pistachio flavor, bringing back the joy of discovering pistachios for the first time. In the core, there were little chewy figs, and the bottom had a crispy chocolate-flavored layer, showcasing the meticulous work put into this small cake. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
