On Friday at 8:00 PM, I went out to eat in the neighborhood, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese restaurant and the popular diner closed earlier than usual. The beef tongue restaurant had closed down, with no sign and no longer in business. It wasn't until the fourth attempt that I finally found a place to dine. Along Route 36, by the sea in Washibetsu Town, across from Washibetsu Elementary School, there used to be a ramen shop called "Isana," but the building remains the same, giving an open feeling. Since it was night, the sea wasn't visible, and the interior of the restaurant was a bit dim with jazz music playing softly. There was no trace of the ramen shop, which was amusing. It was my first time here, but there was a steady flow of customers, and the place was moderately crowded. They offered various meat options ranging from 250g to 700g, including Austrian rib steak, Austrian fillet steak, sirloin cut steak, American chuck roast, black wagyu rib steak, beef stew, and hamburger. The wagyu beef had identification numbers displayed. The most popular item was the Austrian rib steak, so I ordered a smaller portion of 250g. My child ordered the American chuck roast, 450g, recommended by the restaurant, cooked rare. It was pretty delicious. The steak was so thick that it was extremely rare. The 250g portion was too much for me, but my high school daughter devoured the 450g portion. The garlic rice was topped with plenty of fried garlic and bits of meat. Served on a hot iron plate, the rice was piping hot and quite tasty. The flavor could be adjusted with the special sauce for the garlic rice. Overall, I wouldn't say it was incredibly delicious, but it was pretty good. I think I've had enough of rib steak. The American chuck roast was decent for the price, but I don't need to eat it again. My child, however, enjoyed it very much. If I come back next time, I'd like to try the black wagyu, even in a smaller portion.
