This was my first visit to a hotel mainly focused on hot springs located on the edge of Yukawa. I only had the breakfast buffet. There wasn't much seafood other than salmon roe bowl, and there were only two types of bread, which was a bit disappointing. There are two hot springs with a nice view.

Morning Buffet at Kookuru @ Yunokawa Stayed at Imagine Hotel & Resort on July 20th (Wed) in Yunokawa Onsen, and enjoyed the outdoor bath on the 8th floor at night and in the morning. It was so relaxing~ For breakfast, I had a buffet at the Kookuru restaurant on the 2nd floor. Here's how it was: There was pork shabu-shabu as a welcome food. I chose the salmon bowl instead of morning curry. The grilled salmon was thick and delicious. Coffee and yogurt were also included. I'm stuffed. Thank you for the meal! (^^)

Hakodate trip. I wanted to go to a local izakaya even though dinner was included in the package. Only breakfast was included. There were Hokkaido buffet items like ikura donburi, but the variety was a bit less than expected. The hotel is new and clean with a nice atmosphere. There is an observation bath on the 8th floor and a large public bath on the 1st floor. Since we stayed on a Sunday, the 8th floor was almost empty and we could relax without worrying about children. They provide baby beds and bath chairs, and the front desk can lend baby soap. The restaurant also has baby chairs and bouncers, making it a child-friendly hotel. I was expecting a kids' space, but there was only a small ball pit in the lounge. You can see the sea from the room and the bath, and the ocean view from the hotel entrance on the 1st floor lobby is breathtaking. You can also see Mount Hakodate and on a clear day, maybe even Aomori?

On August 3, 2021, the day before, my family of four stayed at Imagine Hotel & Resort Hakodate. The hotel has a wonderful hot spring, starting the day with a bath on the top floor. The clear air, sound of the waves, scent of the sea, fishing boats operating with the sunrise - I wish I could live here after retiring. After enjoying the hot spring, we had a breakfast buffet. Unlike the intense breakfast battles in front of Hakodate Station, the bright and spacious venue here is much more relaxing and resort-like. There was welcome pork shabu on the table, and other dishes were available at the buffet. Live-cooked salmon belly and rolled omelette, as well as salmon roe bowl, were also served. Compared to the usual breakfast, this kind of meal is easier on the stomach and enjoyable. Personally, I prioritize the hot spring over breakfast buffets, so I would recommend this hotel for those who want to enjoy Yunokawa Onsen. My father is a fan of this hotel, and now I understand why he recommended it. It's a hotel that I would consider staying at again.

After enjoying an open-air bath with a view of Mount Hakodate, we moved on to the hotel buffet. We took all necessary precautions such as hand sanitizing, temperature checks, wearing masks, and gloves. We started with a toast with Hokkaido Classic Beer. The highlight of the hotel buffet is the dishes prepared by the chef. Limited to one serving each, we had sushi (tuna, mackerel tempura, dried gourd roll), piping hot mushroom pie soup, sautéed maitake mushrooms, beef steak, and simmered hamburger steak. In addition to these, we enjoyed dishes such as yakisoba, grilled squid, mushroom stir-fry, warm soba noodles, shrimp tempura, chicken karaage, shrimp tempura with mayonnaise, assorted sashimi (salmon, yellowtail, scallop), beef curry, boiled snow crab x3 sets, seaweed and scallop chawanmushi, grilled local pork dumplings, three types of petit cakes, oranges, mangoes, etc. You can truly indulge in a food fighter's experience. I realized that it is possible to hold a buffet even during the pandemic as long as proper infection control measures are in place. Hotel buffets are so much fun.

The stay was from March 9th to 10th, and it was a very windy inn (lol). Being along the coast, you can hear the strong wind blowing and the sound of waves all night long (lol). However, the view is amazing - the ocean view is just too much to handle (lol). You can't imagine it from the front of the hotel, but as soon as you enter the lobby, the ocean view is overwhelming (lol). I came to Hakodate for work and stayed here for the second night. And guess what, it was only 9900 yen including two meals! So cheap~ Maybe it's still due to the influence of the coronavirus, but it was so empty that I could relax comfortably (lol). The baths are on the 1st and 8th floors. The outdoor bath on the 8th floor, to be honest, is too windy to get in (lol). The view is amazing, but the wind is just too strong. The view of Hakodate mountain from the ocean view is the best, but the wind is terrible (lol). The meals were only buffet style. Considering the price, I didn't have high expectations, but it was decent. The charcoal-grilled sirloin was the most delicious. The snow crab had good meat, but it wasn't that tasty. I ended up eating 10 legs because I had 5 plates (lol). Staying at a hotel for under 10,000 yen is a great help for business travelers. I had to leave the hotel at 3:30 am due to urgent matters, so I couldn't have breakfast. Thank you for the meal.

Hakodate Langue de Chat @540 yen x 2 boxes = 1080 yen This is a shop inside Imagine Hotel & Resort Hakodate, but the receipt said "Yamazaki Shop - Imagine Hotel Hakodate Store," so it seems like it's not directly operated by the hotel, but rather a tenant.

The dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious. The hotel is right by the sea, and when I looked out the window of my room, I saw steam rising from cracks in the sandy beach below. The picture doesn't show much steam, but it was quite noticeable. It's really nice to have a view of the sea from the window. The hot spring water is mixed with seawater, so it tastes a bit salty. You can enjoy the outdoor bath while gazing at the ocean.

I am happy that I can eat crab at the dinner buffet. The fact that they grill steaks on charcoal is also a big plus. The variety of seafood is great too, Hakodate has delicious food!

It was delicious. I could see the monkey mountain from the window of the room.

On a regular weekend, a quick trip to Hokkaido! For breakfast on the second day, try the buffet here! You can enjoy unique items like apple butter, potato butter, and salted fish eggs, but there's no seafood available! However, there is a wide variety of rice accompaniments.

This was my first time in Hakodate. I chose this hotel because I wanted to stay in a hot spring. My impression is good. Other than the room being a bit worn out, everything else is lovely. The hot spring, the employees, the scenery, and the food all satisfied me. I thought the food was delicious because it wasn't too salty.

Both breakfast and dinner were buffet style with plenty of seafood, and the content was fulfilling. The hotel is in an affordable price range, so there were many Chinese group tourists, and unfortunately, the buffet area was crowded and not conducive to a relaxing dining experience. It would have been better if they separated the areas for regular guests. I chose the unlimited salmon option for dinner (for an additional ¥1000) based on a friend's recommendation, but it was served in a salmon bowl, so I couldn't eat as much. I managed to have three bowls though, as there were other buffet options available. The local produce and seafood were satisfying. The breakfast also had a good selection of seafood. The rooms and hot spring facilities were fantastic. I uploaded images of the view from the open-air bath and the room. I had a lovely time watching the sunset. If it's this affordable, I would like to use it again. Hokkaido is always a place where you can enjoy yourself.

Recently, the weather has been getting closer to spring, making me want to go on a trip. I always book my accommodations online, and for a hot spring inn on a Saturday for 7500 yen, you usually only get a plan that includes breakfast at a decent place. I saw a glimpse of the words "breakfast included" and immediately made a reservation at Imagine Hotel & Resort Hakodate. It used to be called Yunokawa Grand Hotel a few years ago, but it has been renovated into a hot spring inn. We drove to Hakodate, but the road in the southern region was covered in heavy snow, so it took longer than usual. We arrived at Imagine Hotel & Resort Hakodate at 5 pm. At check-in, they asked us what time we wanted to have dinner. I was surprised to find out that dinner was included in our reservation. We had planned to eat at izakayas in the main town, so we decided to have a light dinner. Our room was a 38㎡ ocean view room on the 6th floor, very spacious! You can see the Tsugaru Strait from the window. We went to the dining area on the 2nd floor right after it opened, and it was a complete self-service buffet. Their specialty was a customized seafood bowl with salmon, squid, shrimp, egg, tobiko, shellfish, negitoro, and options like tuna and salmon flakes for those who don't like raw seafood. You could choose between white rice and vinegared rice. They had a salad corner, Hakodate local dishes, a meat corner, a snow crab corner, and a dessert corner, with more variety than expected (we decided to eat out in the main town area this time). After dinner, we enjoyed the public bath on the 1st floor and the open-air bath on the 8th floor. The next morning, we had breakfast in the same dining area. The salad corner was even better than dinner, with more colorful beans and 10 types of dressings. They had the classic dishes like grilled fish and simmered dishes, but the slimy corner had okra, seaweed, and yamaimo. They also had ochazuke in the rice corner, where you could add bonito dashi, trefoil, chopped seaweed, and real wasabi. It was delicious and soothing for my stomach after a night of drinking. Overall, I was very impressed.

The breakfast buffet had grilled salmon cooked over charcoal, which was exceptionally delicious. The fact that you could also have unlimited mini salmon roe bowls was a big plus.

Breakfast is served from 7 o'clock. Before that, I took a bath. There is a large communal bath on the first floor and an outdoor bath on the 8th floor. You can see Aomori prefecture from the outdoor bath on the 8th floor. After feeling refreshed in the bath, it's time for breakfast. Instead of meal tickets, the room key serves as the ticket. I started by making a salad with green shiso dressing. I noticed they had salmon rice bowl, so I put that on my tray. Next to it, they were grilling salmon, so I added a tamagoyaki to my tray as well. I chose a few more dishes to go with the salmon rice bowl. The end result was the same as always (laughs). I made one mistake. The rice in the salmon rice bowl was cold. In Lake Akan, the rice was warm with salmon on top. This time, both the rice and the salmon were cold, making the dish less enjoyable. The salmon was cooked perfectly and delicious, but it's a shame about the rice. I'll be more careful with pre-made rice dishes in the future. Thank you for the meal.
