In this livestock kingdom, you can find a hidden gem called "Wakadori Karaage Shop" that offers delicious fried chicken. The shop is located off the main road in a residential area, so unless you're specifically looking for it, you might not even notice it. I was recommended this place by a local and have visited a few times. I have become a fan of their tasty fried chicken. The menu consists of only two items: chicken wings and fried chicken, but the locals seem to love the delicious taste of their food.

I went to a fried chicken restaurant called "Wakadori Karaage" for the first time! It was a bit out of my way, but I wanted to try this fried chicken place I heard about. It was located in a residential area, like a hidden gem of a karaage restaurant. I arrived during their opening hours and ordered the Wakadori for 750 yen including tax, and a large portion of chicken wings for 450 yen including tax. I waited in my car for about 10 minutes to get the freshly fried karaage. The Wakadori was delicious, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt. It went really well with beer. The chicken used is from Nakasatsunai, known for its karaage. The chicken wings were good too, but I felt like they needed a bit more salt, so I added some myself. Overall, the karaage was tasty and paired perfectly with a cold beer. It was a great dining experience.

It's located about 2 hours from Sapporo, so I came all the way to Shiraoi just to buy this. The menu offers young chicken and chicken wings only, both fried. The young chicken is half a portion of meat without the breast. I ordered 3 servings of chicken wings. The thin coating is crispy and not greasy at all, with a light salt flavor and juicy meat. It's so delicious, especially the part without the tip of the chicken wings. Personally, I think this is the best fried chicken ever! Truly delicious!! Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant "Wakadori Karaage-ya" before moving from Shiraoi to my hometown, as a way to try out as many restaurants as possible before the move. The shop's hours were from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and since it was only closed on Tuesdays, it was difficult for me to visit as I had late work hours. (No overtime pay either!) Even at the original zangi shop in Kushiro, Torimatsu, the flavor wasn't that strong. When I entered the shop, the owner was preparing the food, while a woman who seemed to be his daughter was managing the place. I visited after two years, and it seems they have slightly increased their prices. This time, I bought one pack each of fried chicken and chicken wings (small). I took the freshly cooked fried chicken and moved to the Porotokotan area to eat the freshly made chicken wings. As I took a bite of the chicken wings, I thought, "Hmm, this simple salt flavor is so delicious!" "Yes, it's true, the freshly made ones are crispy and delicious." I wanted my wife to try these freshly made chicken wings, and she really liked them. This simple salt-flavored fried chicken is precious to me.

I decided to order both the small size chicken wings and the "wakadori" (young chicken) because I don't come here often and wanted to treat myself.
