Asahikawa 3rd Street, 5th block. A high-end restaurant located in a corner of Sanroku Street where you can enjoy blowfish at night. I found out that they offer lunch on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try in February, but they were not serving lunch at that time. However, when I passed by this time, I noticed that they were open for lunch. There is parking available at the corner. So, I decided to enter the restaurant. Upon entering, there was a staircase on the left, and the hostess was coming down from there. It was before 1 pm, so the restaurant was quiet. I was guided to a private room on the right, which was a four-person sunken kotatsu-style private room. I took off my shoes and entered. First, I looked at the menu. They only offer crab or blowfish lunch sets, ranging from 1000 yen to 3000 yen, which is not too expensive. I chose the 1500 yen Yuki course. The hostess informed me that the kettle rice would take about 15 minutes. I was impressed by the attention to detail, such as the fully carpeted sunken kotatsu. It was interesting that even the counter seats required taking off shoes. As I looked around, I was served a salad in a glass bowl with homemade dressing that had a slightly strong taste, perhaps from mustard. Next, I was served chawanmushi, which was piping hot as it was freshly made. It contained shiitake mushrooms, mitsuba, chicken, ginkgo nuts, and chestnuts, but I couldn't find any "su" (vinegar). It was slightly soft, with a subtle dashi flavor and modest egg content. Then, I had deep-fried crab shell. I was surprised by the size, as it was piled high. When I opened the crispy coating with chopsticks, I found crab meat, egg, and similar ingredients to the chawanmushi. Just as I finished, the crab kettle rice arrived. It came with miso soup and pickles. When I opened the lid, a fragrant aroma of crab and dashi wafted out. After letting it steam for a bit, I scooped it into a bowl... Oh, a nice crispy layer formed! It was a gentle and blissful moment enjoying the delicious flavor. Finally, I called the hostess for dessert. Yuzu sherbet was served, leaving a refreshing taste in my mouth. For 1500 yen, the meal was quite satisfying. This restaurant is often used for business entertainment in the evenings, so it may have a slightly higher threshold. However, for lunch, you can enjoy dishes made with carefully selected ingredients at this high-end restaurant at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.
