Today is Children's Day during Golden Week. After enjoying a steak set meal at Kiseki Shokudo Honten in Ageo, Saitama Prefecture, I suddenly decided to travel from Ageo Station to Shibuya Station and then, for some reason, to Sangenjaya Station just like the day before. I transferred to the Tokyu Setagaya Line and got off at Matsunokami Shrine Station, where I found my destination, Boulangerie Sudou. I had been wanting to visit this place ever since TACUBO recommended their Galette des Rois, and I finally made it. The shop, although small, had a simple and stylish interior and exterior. When I entered, I saw the beautiful Danish pastries that I had been eyeing. I purchased the following items: - Seasonal Strawberry Danish: Made with Migaqi strawberries from Yamamoto Town, Miyagi Prefecture. How do you even eat this? It's too big to bite into... But I still tried to bite into it! The whipped cream was fluffy, the acidity of the Migaqi strawberries was refreshing, and the pistachio flavor was delightful. The layers of the Danish pastry were crispy. In the middle of the Danish, there was apricot and custard cream. The overall quality of the pastry was incredibly high, and it was very delicious. - Macaron Chocolat Caramel Banane: This was a new release at the time, and it was another challenging item to eat without making a mess. The texture of the macaron, combined with whipped cream, banana, caramel sauce, and crispy Danish pastry, was undeniably delicious. - Shirasu Focaccia from Yamatomi: I couldn't resist buying this focaccia made with the best kettle-boiled shirasu (spring shirasu) from Wakayama Prefecture. It was best enjoyed toasted in a toaster, topped with butter and a sprinkle of soy sauce and nori. It was absolutely delicious. If I ever find myself in the Sangenjaya area again, I would definitely want to visit this shop. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

After finishing my afternoon errands, I stopped by Boulangerie Sudo because I had some time. I usually go there right after they open or in the morning, but this time I went in the afternoon for the first time. When I went in the afternoon, the danishes were already sold out, so they mainly had savory breads and focaccia. I bought the coarse ground sausage chili dog, the vegetable and potato basil pizza, and Sudo's canelé. 1. Coarse ground sausage chili dog: A hot dog with sausage and onions sandwiched in a baguette. The sauce is made with curry, and the spiciness of the curry, juicy sausage, and crunchy baguette go really well together. There is plenty of sauce, so you can taste the curry sauce until the last bite. The sauce also has minced meat in it, giving it a flavor similar to keema curry. 2. Vegetable and potato basil pizza: A pizza with lots of vegetables like broccoli and potatoes. It has a delicious taste of basil and you can taste the variety of vegetables. The aroma, sweetness, and texture of the vegetables are all present in this tasty pizza bread. 3. Sudo's canelé: A popular canelé that Boulangerie Sudo has been selling since last year. The outside is crispy, while the inside is soft with a strong brandy flavor. You can also taste the sweetness and aroma of the brandy. It's a canelé with a sophisticated taste that is perfect for a snack. I enjoyed the different breads they had in the afternoon, like the focaccia, so I'm considering going back in the afternoon next time.

I went to the bakery Sudo to eat their water manju Danish. I couldn't eat it last year, so I'm here for a rematch this year! Today, there were various types of bread available at the store. Since the Danish takes time to make, I decided to reserve it. In addition to the water manju Danish, they also had other Danish pastries such as grape Danish, chestnut Danish, as well as pizza and baguettes. 1. Caramel Chocolat Banane A popular new Danish pastry with banana, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, and chocolate macaron. A luxurious Danish pastry with a crispy texture and a cake-like combination of cream and macaron. The aroma and sweetness of chocolate and caramel stand out. 2. Nagano Purple Danish A Danish pastry with plenty of Nagano purple. It combines the sweetness of Nagano purple with cream, buttery Danish, and tangy apricot jam. The sweetness of Nagano purple, the texture of Danish, and the acidity of the apricot jam match perfectly. 3. Shine Muscat Danish Another Danish pastry with plenty of Shine Muscat. It features fresh Shine Muscat on top of the Danish. You can enjoy the sweet Shine Muscat along with the Danish and cream. 4. Water Manju Danish The main attraction this time, a Danish pastry topped with water manju. Anko (sweet bean paste) solidified with kudzu powder is placed on the Danish. The syringe contains sake. Surprisingly, the sweet water manju and Danish go well together! The sweetness is slightly subdued compared to regular anko, thanks to the kudzu powder. A very easy-to-eat Danish. 5. Coffee Jelly Danish A Danish pastry with coffee jelly that I also had last year. The bitterness of the coffee jelly complements the Danish and cream perfectly. The jelly-like texture of the coffee jelly enhances the crispy texture of the Danish. 6. Corn Pain Baguette Sandwich A baguette sandwich with pastrami beef and Gruyère cheese on corn pain. Butter is sandwiched inside. The saltiness of pastrami beef and Gruyère cheese stands out. The light hard bread of corn pain complements the ingredients well. 7. Eggplant and Sausage Pizza Fried in Olive Oil A pizza with large eggplants and sausages on top of tomato sauce. The texture of the eggplant and sausage is delicious. The chewy bread, ingredients, and sauce complement each other perfectly. 8. Chestnut Danish A Danish pastry with a whole chestnut inside, similar to a pie. It has a mature taste with chestnut, crispy Danish, and a base flavored with Western liquor. You can also enjoy the aroma and sweetness of chestnut. 9. Tiramisu Croissant A Danish pastry with cookies baked on top. It combines the bitterness of cocoa powder and coffee cream with custard cream. The crispy croissant and cream go well together. The bitter chocolate complements the sweet cream. 10. Adult Andonuts I always buy anko-based pastries. It consists of crushed red bean paste and thick butter sandwiched between honey toast. A very delicious donut with a crispy honey toast, red bean paste, and the richness of thick butter. It is easier to eat compared to fried red bean paste donuts. 11. Thick-cut Focaccia Rusk I saw a rusk made from focaccia for the first time. It has a crispy texture like honey toast, as well as the chewy texture of focaccia. The inside was more chewy compared to other rusks. All the bread was delicious and very filling! I want to enjoy more Danish pastries next time!!!

I was surprised to find out that the bakery I stumbled upon had a rating of 3.94 on Tabelog, one of the top 100 bakeries. I ended up inside the bakery without realizing it. Since it was evening, there weren't many types of bread left, but I tried a Danish pastry with muscat grapes. The muscat grapes were delicious, and the combination of apricot and mascarpone inside was tasty. The Danish pastry was crispy and delicious. I will definitely go back in the morning to try more bread varieties!

I came to Matsukage Shrine to see Nicholas, but since I was nearby, I decided to stop by. It was a weekday and close to 6:00 pm, so there were few items left. The grape Danish looked very delicious, but it was 864 yen. After spending around 500 yen on three items with Nicholas, I hesitated a bit. If I had come here first, I might have bought it. - Focaccia: A thick focaccia that becomes even softer when reheated. It's chewy and goes well with anything. - Walnut and Raisin Bread: Plenty of walnuts and raisins. It seems to use levain starter. The acidity is moderate and easy to eat, with a chewy and delicious texture. It seems like the cooking focaccia here is becoming more expensive every time I visit. Price increases are natural in this industry, but it seems like it's getting out of reach for someone like me, a commoner. I hope wheat and other ingredients become cheaper soon.

This bakery is run by the talented husband and wife chefs, Shuji Sudo and Eriko Sudo, who used to work as pastry chefs. Their specialty lies in sweet treats, with their exquisite Danish pastries being a standout. The perfect balance of crispy and moist textures will leave you in a state of bliss. Shuji Sudo, with his bright and cheerful demeanor, has an impressive background working at renowned establishments such as "Maison de Petit Four" and "Boulangerie Perdier." Eriko Sudo, on the other hand, honed her skills as a pastry chef at "Mariage de Farine." The bakery offers a variety of mouth-watering treats like water manju Danish, croissants, and anko butter toast. The prices may be a bit higher than your average bakery, but the quality and taste are well worth it. Don't miss out on the water manju Danish and anko butter toast – they are truly exceptional. The bakery is located in the heart of Setagaya, Tokyo, and is definitely worth a visit for a delightful experience.

I visited after a long time, probably about 3 years. I bought a baguette, coffee jelly Danish, and pain au chocolat. They were all very delicious!! The coffee jelly Danish had something like simmered apricot inside, which was a nice accent. There was also torched meringue underneath the coffee jelly, maybe to prevent moisture, but the slight bitterness was also very good. I was impressed by the balance of different ingredients and their combinations! I found it a bit hard to eat, but I also felt that taking a big bite made it taste even better (^ ^) These are just my personal feelings about the contents, so they may differ from reality. I apologize if I got anything wrong m(_ _)m

Around 5 p.m. on Saturday, the Danish pastries I wanted were sold out, so I debated whether to buy a $7 coffee jelly Danish or a canelé. However, considering the time the pastries had been exposed to the air, I decided not to make a purchase this time. I feel more reassured when the pastries are covered with a plastic sheet in the store.

The 201st edition! A must-try shop - Boulangerie Sudo! You'll regret not trying their delicious Danish pastries! [Order Items]: - Nagano Purple Danish by Seno-san 864 yen - Adult's Anko Donut 702 yen Total: 1,566 yen (tax included) This shop with famous Danish pastries has been on my mind for a while. They offer a variety of Danish pastries, such as those topped with coffee jelly, dorayaki, and macarons. In addition to pastries, they also have delicious bread and sweet buns, as well as cookies and other baked goods. The Nagano Purple Danish I ordered was incredibly delicious. The Nagano Purple itself was amazing, with a luxurious 4-5 pieces inside. The outer layer was crispy, while the inside was moist. The raspberry jam in the middle perfectly complemented the pastry. It was so delicious! Another item, the Adult's Anko Donut, was also sweet and tasty. It's a crispy honey toast filled with smooth fermented butter and red bean paste. The combination of the crispy honey toast and the smooth anko butter is fantastic! It's quite sweet, so it's a must-try for those with a sweet tooth. I also bought some cookies and financiers, which were also delicious. There might be a bit of a line, but it's worth the wait. The popular bread is available for purchase from 10:00 am, so make sure to line up early if you want to get some. When I visited at 11:00 am, the bread was already sold out. If you're in the area, be sure to check this place out! Recommended queue information: On a weekday at 11:00 am, there were 15 people waiting, and I was able to enter at 11:30 am after a 30-minute wait. The honey toast was sold out by 11:30 am, and almond pastries were baked around 11:40 am. (For reference only.) This was the first time I had eaten such high-quality deli bread. Not only the bread, but each deli item paired with it was of high quality. The Danish pastry, needless to say, was exceptional. I'm not usually a fan of sweet things, but it was outstanding. It was my first time trying a canelé, and I'm not sure if I liked it.

Waking up to the sound of rain makes it easy to go back to sleep, thanks to the rain. I'm excited for the long-awaited rain, enjoying the white world while indulging in delicious cookies. Coconut cookies are crumbly and crispy with a delicious coconut flavor. The butter cookies are amazing because of the incredible butter used. I was told to eat them later, so I had them after the coconut ones. The butter was really good and tasty. It's a lovely rainy morning for coffee time. I love the sky and want to connect with others who love it too. Let's connect through photography and our love for the sky.

It's September 2023, and I came here after enjoying some delicious grilled fish nearby. I knew this bakery was popular, but I didn't realize it was so close. It was around noon, and there was a limit to how many people could enter the store, so I waited outside for about 5 minutes. The popular toast was already sold out, with a sign saying reservations were closed. Rumor has it that you have to reserve before the store opens to avoid missing out. Inside, there were delicious-looking Danish pastries lined up. Although the savory bread looked tempting, I had just eaten, so I focused on sweet treats. I bought three items: Apricot Danish, Pear Danish, and Sweet Potato Danish with Red Haruka and Naruto Kintoki. The Danish pastries had a delicious crust that was crispy and flaky, allowing you to peel off each layer to savor. The custard cream inside was sweet and tasty. The fruits on top were good, but the real star was the pastry itself. The Red Haruka and Naruto Kintoki had a chewy texture with sweet potato mixed in, and the sesame sprinkled on top added a nice touch of saltiness. It's amazing that the Setagaya Line station is just a 3-minute walk from Sumisawa. With the convenience of being right next to the station, it's a perfect spot to visit after enjoying grilled fish. Thank you for the delicious treats.

On a Saturday in August, with occasional light rain, I visited the bakery around 1:40 pm. There was a limit of 7 people inside, with about 10 people waiting in line outside. I was able to enter in about 10 minutes. By that time, many of the items I had seen on Instagram and fallen in love with, like the sparkling Danish pastries, were probably sold out. I purchased the following items: - Coffee Jelly Danish: 700 yen (excluding tax) - Mizumanju (Water Manju) Danish: 750 yen (excluding tax) - Baked Cheese Curry Bun: 580 yen (excluding tax) - Croissant: 370 yen (excluding tax) - Sudo's Canele: 390 yen (excluding tax) The total came to 2,790 yen (excluding tax) or 3,013 yen including tax. I was advised to eat the Danish pastries chilled, so I carefully carried them home. The Coffee Jelly Danish had a strong bitterness and a solid texture that could stand on its own. The Mizumanju Danish was paired with sake, which surprisingly complemented the manju. The filling was soft and the combination with the Danish pastry provided an interesting contrast in texture. The Baked Cheese Curry Bun had a rich curry filling and a chewy texture similar to a bagel, which was surprisingly delicious. The Croissant was crispy yet chewy, with a delightful aroma and a clear indication of the generous use of butter. The Canele was soft and slightly gooey inside, with a distinct rum flavor. Although not entirely to my liking, it was still delicious. Overall, all the items were unique and of high quality. I enjoyed the Mizumanju Danish with sake pairing and would like to try more conventional options like fruit-filled pastries in the future. I also look forward to trying items like Pain au Chocolat, Raisin Bread, Honey Toast, and Milk French. Maybe next time I'll visit in the morning.

Sudo Cube (¥120) was another long-awaited shop. Since it was already past noon, many of the breads were sold out, so I opted for some baked sweets instead. However, this curry cube was incredibly delicious! It had a rich flavor, like a condensed curry, with a crispy and fluffy texture. I was truly impressed by this cookie. It was the first time I had such an amazing experience with a cookie. #boulangeriesudo #bakery #bread #boulangeriesudo #bakery #bread #breadshop #bread #breadshop #breadshophopping #breadshophunting #MatsukageJinjaShrineGourmet #MatsukageJinjaShrineCafe #MatsukageJinjaShrine.

It is a very popular shop that always has a long line. When I visited before 11 am, there were 20 people in line. I was hoping to get the almond croissant, but it was not ready yet. Bummer. Here is what I bought this time: Chili Dog - A mini baguette with crispy crust filled with chili minced meat, bechamel sauce, and a wiener. I thought it would have Camembert cheese on top, but it was disappointing to find onions instead, and it was half-cooked and spicy, so it was the worst. I think it would have been better with Camembert. Baguette Gourmandise - Thin slices of baguette with crispy Comte cheese. The crunchy texture is delicious. Dark Cherry Danish - A Danish with a good sweetness of dark cherries and a crispy texture, a perfect match. Pear Danish - The Danish is crispy and delicious, but the pear is too sweet. Coffee Jelly Danish - The appearance is impressive. Maybe you don't need to eat it with the Danish. Golden Egg Cream Bun - A fluffy brioche with a rich egg-scented cream. But the most delicious one is still the almond croissant.

Revisited. A bakery right in front of Setagaya Line Matsunokami Shrine Station. Arrived during lunchtime with a few people in line. Waited for about 10 minutes before entering the store. I really love the Graham bread here with lots of dried fruits, but it always seems to be sold out by lunchtime. If I come in the evening for the Graham bread, the sweet breads are already sold out. I wish they would start selling the Graham bread earlier. On this day, the Graham bread wasn't available yet, so I ended up buying only sweet breads. They're all delicious, but sometimes I want to have Graham bread or plain bread too. Almond Danish (550 yen + tax): Simple Danish filled with almond cream. It's delicious, but it's almost like a tart. Chocolate Roll (230 yen + tax): The bread dough is probably the same as the Peanut Coppe, but the unsweetened cocoa powder sprinkled on top is a bit too bitter. Peanut Coppe (390 yen + tax): I like this one. The slightly salty peanut cream is a hit.

There is a shop located along the railway tracks near the always crowded Matsukage Shrine station. They offer a wide variety of bread, especially the deli-style ones that are loaded with a generous amount of fillings. The corn focaccia from Imamasu in Iwate Prefecture that I purchased this time was amazing with its abundant corn, creamy bechamel sauce, and two thick Vienna sausages. Each focaccia is so filling that even one is enough to satisfy your hunger. They also have a sandwich with fresh corn and cream cheese, as well as some sweet treats.

I have been to this shop near Matsunokami Shrine Station many times, and this time I went because I wanted to eat delicious bread. The items I ate were: Danish pastry - 4.5, bread - 4.5, cookies - 4.3. Everything I ate this time was delicious as always. I think it's a good shop because no matter what I eat, it's always delicious. There are other items I want to try, so I want to go back again.

It was a hot summer day, yet there was a huge line. When I finally got inside the store, most of the Danish pastries were already sold out. However, I was able to buy one. They used Takarash butter and milk, and it was really delicious! The texture was crispy and crunchy, and it was sweet. The regular bread was still unsold. I also bought some cookies.

Caramel corn has popcorn on it!! It's so cute (✿´ ꒳ ` )♡ Mizuyokan has a sake-infused skewer, so you can eat it with your preference! The Danish pastry has a citrus cream filling inside, it's big but you won't get tired of eating it (๑•ω•๑)/"♡ The anchovy butter and deli bread were incredibly delicious, but if you don't check the price before buying, you might go bankrupt...
