Shiraoi Town Torasouhama Area. In front of you is a seafood company where you can see crabs being processed and beach work up close. The freshness of the sashimi at this restaurant is the highlight!! And the rice is delicious too. Although it may seem intimidating at first, once you enter, you'll be greeted by friendly female staff providing excellent service. It turned out to be a fantastic restaurant beyond my expectations. On this day, I went to Shiraoi to buy eggs. At Mother's Plus, you can buy up to 2 packs per person. The prices are 230 yen for small size, 400 yen for red eggs, and 600 yen for fertilized eggs (all 10 pieces per pack). I wanted to eat delicious egg over rice, so I bought one pack each of red eggs and fertilized eggs. Now, what should I have for lunch? I bought delicious eggs, and I'm in the mood to try a new restaurant in Shiraoi area where there are many unique shops that I have yet to visit (Granada, Granma, etc.). I'm curious about them, but today I'm not in the mood for something different. Oh, how about Tacchan Shokudo!? My follower, Hoshizora, gave it a high rating, so it must be good. Alright, let's go check it out!! Torasouhama Area. If you're coming from the direction of Shiraoi, you can turn left just before the Seven-Eleven, and there's a gravel parking lot labeled Tacchan Shokudo Parking, making it easy to find. As I was taking a photo of the exterior, a friendly female staff member came out and asked how many people there were. ⇒ Three of us, please! ⇒ Right this way!! ⇒ Okay. There are 4 table seats that can accommodate 4 to 6 people, and 4 counter seats facing the window. The atmosphere is similar to The Hama's dining room, and it was full when we entered. We were lucky with the timing! We looked at the menu, and besides the menu I photographed, there were also menu items on the wall, which was a bit confusing (laughs). At the top of the special rice bowl menu, it says "recommended" Shanghai Fresh Bowl for 1,800 yen. This seems like a safe choice. My companions ordered the Fresh Tuna Bowl for 2,200 yen and the Hokki Curry for 850 yen. The serving was surprisingly fast, with everything served within 10 minutes. Good speed! Shanghai Fresh Bowl for 1,800 yen: The shrimp has a strong presence ⇒ One of the freshest and most delicious shrimp I've ever eaten, ranking in the top 5 of all the shrimp I've had. Hokki ⇒ No fishy smell. Delicious. Matsukawa (?) ⇒ This is also delicious. If I had to be picky, I wish it was a bit thicker. Salmon ⇒ Nice, nice. It's juicy and makes the rice go down smoothly. Tuna ⇒ The freshness is good. Delicious red tuna. Salmon roe ⇒ It's subtly sweet and delicious, homemade ikura is also great! Hair crab ⇒ Is this the one they caught today? The sweetness and flavor are amazing! The amount served is a bit small compared to the amount of sashimi, but that's the beauty of crab. I realized how delicious crab can be. It's great that there are many local ingredients. Rice. Hot white rice. It's not vinegared rice, but it goes well with these toppings. The portion is a bit small compared to the amount of sashimi. Maybe next time I'll go for the extra large for an additional 110 yen! The soup is a miso soup with scallop spat. Don't underestimate the soup made by the "beach mom" (I named her myself). The scallop has a satisfying texture. The sweetness of the scallop blends well with the miso soup. The saltiness is just right, not too salty, and the miso is not too light. The wasabi is grated wasabi. It's great. The marinated taro? It's something I don't usually eat, and I was a little impressed. The pickled ginger is all-you-can-eat style (laughs). I don't like it, so I didn't have any, but ginger lovers must be thrilled. I didn't take a photo of the Hokki Curry, but the roux was quite delicious. If I lived nearby, I would definitely come here occasionally for that taste. With that quality, 850 yen is a bargain. Many people in the restaurant were ordering "Tacchan Ramen," which also caught my eye. Once you come here, you'll become a fan of this restaurant. My companions also said they want to try the ramen next time. A repeat visit is a must. As of June 24, 2023, the rating is 3.36. It's a popular restaurant, so it's only a matter of time before it exceeds 3.5! It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

I went for lunch. The restaurant was full. I had the Shanghai seafood bowl with added sea urchin. The fresh sashimi was incredibly delicious! The miso soup had a rich flavor and was also delicious. I will definitely come back to eat here again. Thank you very much!

I went to have lunch at Tora-Jima Beach. There was only one parking space available and I managed to park there. When I entered the restaurant, the first floor was full so I was guided to a raised seating area on the second floor. It was spacious, bright, and even better than the first floor. A young male waiter quickly brought us tea, saying "Be careful, it's hot." There were many menu options, and after flipping through them, we decided on the "Scallop Feast for 1800 yen" without hesitation! The meal included scallop sashimi, scallop fry, scallop Matsumae-zuke, sweetened scallops, miso soup with scallop spat, and side dishes. The scallop sashimi was not live but it was sweet and delicious. The scallop fry came with two sauces, tartar and soy, and was very tasty. Thank you for the meal. There were many other menu options available, and the staff were always polite with greetings like "Welcome" and "Thank you." I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Second visit. Arrived a little after 11 o'clock and luckily didn't have to wait to be seated. My daughter had the purple sea urchin bowl, my wife had the seafood bowl, and I had the ramen with a mini seafood bowl set. Last time, everyone around me ordered ramen and it looked so delicious, so this time I chose the ramen. It was a great choice, the soup was delicious! I wonder when I can go for a third visit, I really want this restaurant to be in my neighborhood.

I wonder if the fresh squid set meal has started yet? Arrived right at 12 o'clock, but it wasn't available yet. The first floor was full, so I went up to the second floor and ordered Tatchan Ramen. It arrived in 15 minutes, and after sprinkling some pepper on it... it was delicious! The second floor had cushions to sit on, but my knees and back started to hurt. Still, I finished the ramen quickly, sweating. Tatchan Ramen - 830 yen. Thank you for the meal!

On a Sunday afternoon, I planned to go to a soba restaurant for lunch but it was closed, so a friend recommended me to go to Tacchan Shokudo instead. It was crowded with already 5 groups waiting when I arrived. The parking lot was spacious, with enough space for 15-16 cars. After waiting for 30 minutes, I was seated on the second floor of the restaurant, which can accommodate around 30-40 people in total. The restaurant is run by a seafood company, so the menu mainly consists of seafood dishes. The seafood bowl is highly recommended, but all the dishes looked fresh and delicious. After much deliberation, I ordered the recommended cod fry set meal and simmered sea bream. It took another 20 minutes for the food to arrive due to the large number of customers. The cod fry was fresh and tasty, with four large pieces of cod. It came with side dishes and scallop miso soup. I was very satisfied. The simmered sea bream had a rich flavor from the fish's fat and sweet broth, it was delicious. Being run by a seafood company, the quality of the ingredients was high and the cost performance was great!

During the timing of my homecoming trip, I visited Tacchan Shokudo, a restaurant I had been curious about. I chose the Shanghai Seafood Bowl for 1800 yen. It came with tuna, salmon, sea bream, fresh scallops, octopus, ikura, and raw botan shrimp on top of the rice. It also came with simmered cod roe and miso soup with baby scallops. The scallops in this area are really delicious. My father ordered the raw bluefin tuna bowl for 2200 yen, and my mother got the scallop feast for 1800 yen. This was my first visit, and I don't come here often, so I decided to try the more expensive menu options. I was satisfied with what I got, but I think next time I'll try something under 1000 yen, as that might be the sweet spot. The scallop feast is tempting, though. My parents were very pleased with their meals. Also, I think they could reduce the amount of rice a bit.

Seafood ramen and mini seafood bowl are more delicious than the ramen served at ramen shops. The broth has an incredible depth of flavor, yet it is light enough to drink it all up. The toppings are luxurious and each one is delicious. The sashimi in the seafood bowl is of high quality. Even the mini size is satisfying. It is worth visiting this place just for this ramen.

I went to Honma Suisan to buy some hair crabs. They were on sale, so I was able to buy freshly boiled hair crabs caught in Maehama at a good price. Today, I bought hair crabs, tuna, and sujiko. I thought about eating a horse dung sea urchin bowl at Tacchan Shokudo across the street, but I had to eat the hair crabs and tuna today, so I chose the affordable Hokki Curry for lunch. Hokki Curry is famous at that restaurant in Tomakomai, but Hokki goes well with curry. It adds more flavor to the curry than pork or beef. However, I wish they would increase the amount of curry. I would like it to be poured over the entire rice if possible. Also, the rice was not that great. It seemed like it lacked luster and sweetness, probably because it had been cooked for a while. It would have been great if the rice was tasty.

The 4000 yen sea urchin bowl was surprisingly priced at only 2500 yen, and it was a bowl of luxurious sea urchin! My companion loves sea urchin, so they chose the sea urchin bowl without hesitation. I had already decided on the Tacchan ramen and mini seafood bowl before we set off. The Tacchan ramen had a salty taste but was filled with a rich seafood broth, creating a very gentle flavor. It was full of shrimp, scallop spat, squid, seaweed, and other seafood! The mini seafood bowl had fresh shrimp, octopus legs, salmon, tuna, and flying fish roe. We arrived just after 11 o'clock and luckily there was a four-person table available, so we were seated right away without having to wait. I wanted to try the live surf clam sashimi, but unfortunately, they were unable to serve it due to shellfish toxins. Nevertheless, the food was delicious, cost-effective, and overall fantastic! Thank you for the meal!

My husband brought back gourmet information. During the consecutive holidays, we decided to avoid the crowded Otaru and Yoichi area and instead went for a drive along the Pacific side. When we arrived at the restaurant just after it opened, it was already almost full. The uni bowl was 2500 yen, made with Bafun uni. Since it's not from the Japan Sea side, I didn't have high expectations, but I ordered it anyway. My husband had the tuna bowl for 2200 yen. We also ordered a side of cod fish fry. The uni was as expected, but the tuna that my husband got was really delicious, so I kind of regret not ordering that instead. The cod fry was quite large, but the batter was a bit too hard. The small dish of tarako was excellent, as expected from Tora-souhama. The scallop miso soup was incredibly tasty! Although we didn't get to try it this time, the "Tatchan" ramen on the menu looked really delicious, and the ramen half with a seafood bowl half seemed like a good deal. I definitely want to try the ramen next time!

It is a 1-hour drive from New Chitose Airport, 15 minutes from Noboribetsu Onsen, and 20 minutes from Shiraoi Upopoi. On this day, I ordered the classic menu item "Seafood Bowl for 880 yen" instead of the recommended menu. It included tuna, salmon, octopus, squid, sweet shrimp, and salmon roe, which is impressive considering the price. The miso soup had scallop spat in it. It was delicious.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and the conclusion is that it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Live Surf Clam and Live Scallop Bowl (1,800 yen), while my partner had the Live Shrimp and Live Surf Clam Bowl (2,500 yen). The surf clam and scallop were incredibly fresh and tasty, being live seafood. The sweet shrimp had a slightly aged flavor that brought out its sweetness. Of course, it was delicious. The highlight was the button shrimp, which was so fresh that its legs were still twitching! It was difficult to remove the head, but it was incredibly delicious. The salmon roe was of standard quality, but still delicious. The miso soup with baby scallops had a rich broth and was also tasty. The side dish of tarako and konjac was okay, but not necessary. Although not cheap, the freshness of the seafood made it worth the price. I will definitely be coming back to this great find! I'm a bit worried that it might get crowded once word spreads, but oh well, I've posted about it!

On this day, we visited Noboribetsu Onsen, Muroran, and Shiraoi for sightseeing before searching for a restaurant where we could eat seafood bowls. We ordered the Uni Bowl (half size) for 2,000 yen each, and it was delicious without any complaints. The portion size was just right for both me and my wife. The scallop miso soup was also delicious. The side dish was a scallop salad.

The ramen and mini seafood bowl set was delicious. The ramen had a light and refreshing seafood broth with plenty of shrimp, scallops, and squid. The seafood bowl had salmon, tuna, and shrimp, and despite being mini-sized, it was quite filling. There were many menu options to choose from, so I'm already thinking about what to try next. The seasonal seafood bowl and fried set also looked delicious.

"Tacchan Shokudo" has now become quite a popular restaurant, working hard in Shiraoi Town, Torazaki Beach. The Shanghai seafood bowl for 1,650 yen is visually vibrant and elegant. The peony shrimp is fresh and plump, the bluefin tuna is good, the octopus is decent, and the salmon is a popular choice, although some may prefer a substitute. The surf clam was excellent, with a rich and flavorful taste. The restaurant's ramen is also delicious. Reflecting on the fresh seafood available in the Hidaka and Tokachi areas, we express our gratitude.

Before going to the hot springs, my wife and I had a meal at the renovated second-floor raised seating area. Wow, there were 30 people there! The kitchen facilities remained the same, so increasing the seating area for customers was a bit of a challenge. As expected, we had to wait for 30 minutes, and some customers couldn't wait and ended up leaving. It's only the second weekend since the renovation, so it can't be helped. Things will probably improve soon. We had: - Deluxe 3-color bowl with homemade salmon roe (good) - White hokkigai from Shiraoi (excellent) - Snow crab (excellent) - Miso soup with baby clams (good, but it was more like a shell soup than a soup with actual clams) - Tatchan ramen (excellent) - Mini seafood bowl with shrimp (good) The Deluxe 3-color bowl costs 3000 yen, while the Tatchan ramen and mini seafood bowl cost 1320 yen in total. It was a delicious meal!

JR Torasuna Hamamatsu Station is a 10-minute walk away. Marukan Honma Suisan, a restaurant that has been in business for 34 years in Torasuna Hamamatsu. Retail sales start at 9:00 am, and lunch service begins at 10:00 am. The exterior doesn't look like a typical restaurant, with the first floor serving as a dining area and the second floor as an office. Inside, the setting is simple, with conference tables used as dining tables. The menu is extensive, featuring daily specials, seasonal seafood, and even Hokki curry. Although tempted by the "hair crab bowl" available that day, I decided to go for ramen as I was craving it. [Order] - Ikageso Donburi (¥850) - Tatchan Ramen (¥830) - Live Hokki Sashimi (¥550) Tatchan Ramen is a salt ramen rich in the umami of seafood ingredients using plenty of ingredients from Shiraoi. Not only the broth but also the ingredients are abundant in seafood. It includes 3 sweet shrimp, scallop spat, squid, wakame, and green onions. The medium-thick noodles are delicious, and I regret not upgrading to a large portion for an additional ¥100. The soup is incredibly delicious. It feels like a seafood hot pot, and you'll want to make porridge with the leftover soup at the end. Ikageso Donburi is simple but has a generous amount of squid legs with a sweet and spicy seasoning. It also comes with a miso soup with large scallops, which is a nice touch. Overall, I ordered sashimi, ramen, and a rice bowl for just over ¥2000. Being directly operated by a seafood company, the prices are reasonable, and the satisfaction level is high. I'm curious about the luxurious bowl of meat and seafood with Shiraoi beef roast beef on top. Check out the Instagram @moritapan7 for videos.

Final day at a camp in Shiraoi. I passed by this place the other day and even on a weekday, there was a long line outside the store...♬ If it's that popular...I thought I might as well stop by. From the many menu options, I chose today's recommendation: - Hair crab bowl 2,500 yen - Sea urchin topping 500 yen Limited quantities available. I wonder what the hair crab from Funka Bay tastes like! I love baby scallops in the soup. Hmm, the broth is really good ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ ) Now, onto the anticipated bowl: ✘Hair crab: lacks juiciness ✘Salmon roe: don't like the seasoning ✔Sea urchin: good choice for topping △Tuna: it's bluefin tuna, but it was a disappointment. Since there is a processing plant right in front of me, I had this wild imagination that the hair crabs caught that day would be boiled and served based on their quality, hence the limited quantity. ( ・᷄-・᷅ ) Ah, a bit disappointing. Now, I'll head back to Sapporo and wash my car.

Wife: "I also want to eat fresh squid! ♡" Wow, the workshop by the sea is packed on weekends. At 11:50, we were already fully booked. I had the Tacchan ramen. The soup was amazing! It's made with fish stock from the fish market, so it's definitely delicious! Late arrival of the fresh squid set meal, and my wife exclaimed, "Look, the squid is still moving!" I replied, "I ate that three days ago." Wife: "Do you want to try a little?" I said, "I ate that three days ago... but sure, I'll have a little! haha" This place, in its third year, has become quite popular! Tacchan Ramen - 830 yen Fresh Squid Set Meal - 2000 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

It's been a week since I started craving the live squid set meal, and finally made it to Hakodate! It's not too far from here! We arrived at 11:30 and there were already 2 groups of 4 people dining. The place was packed with more customers coming in. The squid wasn't moving around much, but it was fresh since it was swimming just 10 minutes ago. The scallops that they didn't have last year were delicious. The miso soup and rice were also very tasty. Oh, and surprise surprise! I finished the regular portion in no time. The live squid set meal for 2000 yen was delicious! Thank you!
