I went to the "Hotel Hakodate Royal" on this day. I went shopping with my mother, and since we were hungry, we decided to eat first to avoid getting irritated while shopping (lol). Thinking that not many shops would be open during New Year's, we decided to try the hotel restaurant. It was quite crowded, as it seemed like many others had the same idea. We arrived just before noon and were seated promptly. Once we were seated, we each chose our favorite dishes. The food tasted delicious, especially the hotel's special tomato dressing with a nice tangy flavor.

Continuation from April 2017... During our 2-night, 3-day trip to Hakodate, we stayed at the "Hotel Hakodate Royal" located about a 10-minute walk from JR Hakodate Station. The closest station on the Hakodate City Tram is Matsukaze-cho Station. For breakfast on the second day of our trip, we enjoyed the hotel's buffet at the 1st floor cafe & restaurant "Cucumber Tree". Wow, there are so many dishes to choose from! I love squid rings, and look, they even have squid sashimi in the morning - a true Hakodate specialty. And check out the salmon roe salad corner. The juice is 100% fruit juice. They also have a variety of bread. I went for the Western-style menu. Corn potage, yogurt, and hot coffee after the meal. Chibitsunu went for the Japanese-style menu. They even had squid rice! With salmon roe, squid sashimi, and topped with shirasu and Matsumae pickles. They also had miso soup with dried seaweed. Chibitsunu was so happy to have the salmon roe bowl in the morning. This buffet breakfast is really worth it for experiencing Hokkaido. Chibitsunu: "This is what I wanted to have!" Enjoying the salmon roe bowl, Chibitsunu was in a great mood. Just this alone makes the hotel buffet a great deal. After filling our stomachs, we checked out of the hotel and headed out for another day of sightseeing. ...To be continued. Used for breakfast buffet. A monster-sized salmon roe bowl in the morning. The breakfast buffets in Hokkaido, Hakodate area are amazing! The hotels with buffets here are all top-notch. I was high-spirited from the morning... First, I had squid sashimi. Then, my favorite Matsumae pickles, and salmon roe for a three-color bowl. And instead of miso soup, corn potage. Perfect, I fell under Hokkaido's spell (laughs) Delicious. Continuing with salmon roe, squid sashimi, and salted squid. Also delicious. But I feel like I might get a stomachache if the wind blows. Lastly, when it comes to Hakodate, it's squid! Squid means squid rice. Squid rice bowl (laughs) I was in a completely incomprehensible mood! Like eating fried rice with plain rice! Carbohydrates x carbohydrates. And, when it comes to Hokkaido, it's milk. The rich milk here was surprising. I actually love milk. A satisfying breakfast in the morning. I want to visit this hotel again.

I stayed at this hotel in Hakodate for the first time. It was cheaper in the winter. I was looking forward to the highly rated breakfast! There are three to four restaurants in the hotel. The room had a slightly old feel, but it had been renovated and I could spend a comfortable time. Now, the crucial breakfast was at the restaurant I had used for a lunch buffet before. They also hold a dinner buffet? I entered a bit after the opening time of 7 o'clock. There were few Japanese people, and it felt exotic. The people were not particularly rude, just loud and energetic from the morning? I guess I'm used to it now, with many inbound tourists these days. I focused on all the dishes. Was there anything that made me go "Wow"? The typical breakfast dishes were all there. I couldn't find anything I wanted to eat, so I settled for two things that day: salmon roe and squid sashimi. They were delicious! I love salmon roe. That alone gave a high score, but the breakfast with just miso soup was a bit of a mixed review. If there was no salmon roe, I might not have stayed again. There were regular breakfast dishes available, which I think were not bad. I wish they had salmon roe over vinegar rice!

During my trip to Hokkaido for Silver Week, I stayed at Hotel Hakodate Royal for one night. I didn't have high expectations since it was a last-minute booking during a busy period, but the customer service, service, and cleanliness were all excellent. I had breakfast at the restaurant "CUCUMBER TREE" in the morning, which was a simple buffet style with a variety of delicious dishes including local Hokkaido specialties. The atmosphere was bright and inviting, and I was particularly impressed by the Hokkaido milk and Yoichi apple juice. Overall, it was a satisfying breakfast experience at a hotel that truly lives up to its reputation as a place proud of its breakfast offerings.

On a certain weekday in August 2016, my wife, elementary school daughter, and I stayed at Hotel Hakodate Royal. The hotel is located about a 10-minute walk from JR Hakodate Station, and is also close to the Matsukaze-cho tram stop. We had previously booked the "Summer Vacation Limited SALE - Let's go to Hakodate, Hokkaido! Breakfast included, Midsummer Summer Plan" online. At that time, we were on a train trip heading towards Sapporo to visit grandparents, and we had transferred from the Tohoku Shinkansen, Hayabusa No. 13, and the Rapid Hakodate Liner to arrive in Hakodate and stay at this hotel. It is our family's summer tradition to reserve a plan with breakfast included and enjoy the local cuisine after a leisurely morning sleep at the hotel. The breakfast venue was the "Cafe & Restaurant Kyuukambaa Tsuri" on the first floor. It was a bright restaurant with plenty of natural light coming in through the window glass. Although the variety was not extensive, we were able to enjoy the seafood and mountain delicacies of Hokkaido.

I tried the breakfast at the hotel where I stayed. It was not included in the plan, so I paid 1400 yen in advance. I actually chose the hotel because I saw ikura that looked like jewels on the hotel introduction website. The breakfast buffet included ikura soy sauce marinated, squid salted, squid sashimi, squid rice, squid rings, Hakodate milk... abundant Hakodate ingredients were incorporated. The squid salted had a disinfectant smell aftertaste. The squid sashimi had a dry surface and looked yellowish, so I decided not to eat it. The ikura I was looking forward to was lightly flavored and not enough as a side dish for rice... I added salt. When you come to Hokkaido, ikura soy sauce marinated is the mainstream, but salted ikura has been popular since I was a child... I still prefer salted ikura~♪ I tried putting homemade French dressing on the salad. The finished product became too sour, so I added oil to dilute it. The corn soup could use a little more salt to enhance its sweetness... that kind of feeling. But, when it cools down, the flavor becomes stronger, so you can still drink it as it is. The breakfast buffet here is like saying, "Feel free to adjust the taste yourself." The most delicious thing was... Matsunae pickles with plenty of whitebait rice. But, is it worth 1400 yen for this... it seems that lunch is cheaper and more cost-effective, as it is crowded with madams every day. I would like to try it if I can have the whitebait rice for lunch. On 12/19, I came to try the lunch that caught my attention~. It was 1300 yen, which is 100 yen cheaper than breakfast. The flyer had ikura soy sauce marinated, tuna❓, Neapolitan curry rice, a bite-sized steak, fried chicken, pumpkin croquette, gratin, chicken and vegetable cream stew, shrimp cream stew, soba, sautéed snap peas, simmered daikon and beef tendons, omelet, bonito tataki, smoked salmon, marinated ham, pumpkin soup, croissant and other bread. Desserts included strawberry blancmange, melon❓ with custard sauce and pineapple, orange... that kind of selection. All the cream dishes had the same taste, with a light and lacking richness, so they definitely used plant-based cream. The pumpkin soup was made with pumpkin flakes, making it powdery. The corn soup in the morning was tastier! The curry was a normal sweet curry. The bonito was fishy. I realized something here. The hotel's special dressing was sour and oily because they also used it for marinating. But... wouldn't it be better to make a strong base first and then add vinegar and oil for marinating❓I would like to give feedback on each dish, but it would be too long... In summary, the lunch menu had more variety than breakfast, but it also had more mixed reviews. The best dish at lunch was the sautéed snap peas and daikon. Also, leaving the replacement warm dishes on the wagon at the end for a long time is not a good idea. It felt like they were trying to make up for it by offering whitebait and seasoned seaweed... Personally, I recommend the breakfast more‼️

There was a very good deal so I stayed at a hotel in Hakodate. The plan included breakfast, a drink ticket, and free parking, all for only 3800 yen per person. The breakfast alone would have cost 1400 yen, so it was really cheap. The food looked delicious and I enjoyed the homemade bread, dressing, and meat and potato stew. The hotel sourced the bread from a local bakery, which was a nice touch. The variety of food was great, and I particularly enjoyed the salad with the tasty dressing, the squid rings, the sweet meat and potato stew, and the simple but delicious bread. The Hakodate milk in a bottle was delicious, and the coffee time was enjoyable. I also took some coffee back to my room. Overall, it was a fun and satisfying meal.

This hotel in Hakodate is one that I use quite frequently for business trips. In the evenings, I enjoy going out for drinks, so the next morning I usually just have vegetable juice. This time, during the off-season for tourism, the accommodation fee was even cheaper! So, I decided to take my time and have a leisurely breakfast. As usual, I walked around the Hakodate Daimon area at night and returned to the hotel a bit early. The next morning, the cafe & restaurant "Cucumber Tree" on the first floor of the hotel, right next to the elevator, was where breakfast was served. I handed in my food ticket at the entrance, grabbed a tray and plates from the central table, and started the buffet. There was plenty of ikura, tarako, Matsumae pickles, salted squid (which you can use for squid rice), grilled fish, bacon, sasakama, squid rice, squid rings, simmered bamboo shoots and burdock, rolled omelette, and a plate of squid sashimi with ginger soy sauce. They also served white rice and miso soup with seaweed. The freshness and taste were impeccable. How about that for a breakfast spread? The price difference between a plan with breakfast included and a room-only plan is only 700 yen. This hotel is part of the local "Hakodate Marukatsu Group," with related companies including a fresh fish sales company, a local beer maker, and a squid salted delicacy maker. They seem to be making the most of the group's advantages. From now on, I will choose the plan with breakfast included when staying here.

This is for use at a banquet. Although Royal Hotel Gyoran is known for its Chinese cuisine, there wasn't much Chinese food served. Instead, dishes like Aqua Pazza, sushi, fried foods, and sushi were served. The beer was Kirin Classic in bottles.

Additional note: Today, I attended another party at the hotel. Just like the day before yesterday, it was a beer party (^_^;) Today, we have guests, "Tomoe Takada" and "Asuka Hamada," both of whom I didn't know. Oh, they are work-related as well (sweat). Now, onto the food! Today, we had different dishes than the day before. Despite the lower price, the quality seems better today (laughs). They even served carbohydrates this time! It was yakisoba, but it was good. The waiter's service was as expected, so no issues there. Oh, just one thing... There was a mysterious shochu on the table that I didn't like, so I asked for "potato shochu." They brought a brand called "Kuromaru" and said, "Please don't take this home." Who would take it home?! But they sure know how to make us laugh. "Thank you for the meal today!!" (laughs) *** Below is the previous post: Due to work, I went to a dinner show! Well, it's actually a "Summer Beer Live" event, a beer party (laughs). The guitarist, "TOMOKO," who I had never heard of, seems to be famous on YouTube. I went with my colleague, Big Guy 2, and a young guy. Well, the guitar performance was good! Now, onto the Food... (laughs) The hotel's service and the food were quite disappointing. Firstly, what's up with the beer?! A pitcher placed on the table like that kills the mood! I can tolerate it at chain izakayas, but come on! Beer from a pitcher is not tasty, right? Think about it, they pour it twice... Of course, it's not going to taste good. And the shochu... it was some unknown cheap shochu, and they asked us to make our own watered-down version! Oh, and it was being sold for 888 yen online (laughs). 888 yen is decent, right? (laughs) They also had wine, so Big Guy 2 said, "Bring two red wines!" They brought a bottle and many wine glasses and placed them on the rotating table in front of us!! Why put them in front of us when we ordered them?! And the responses were totally off! It was so frustrating (-_-;) The wine was cheap, a bottle priced at 1,200 yen! Probably bought at a much lower price (laughs). The whiskey highball was made and brought to us, using the old Suntory whiskey. Long time no see! Oh no, that's Red (laughs). The food was somewhat delicious, but serving dishes in large portions is not a good idea! People take more than they can eat, leading to a sense of unfairness. The crab claws were even missing from the start! I don't want to complain too much about the food, but indeed, the service and food were not worth the 12,000 yen! No carbs, and after the meat, they served dessert! Usually, you get sushi or something after that, right? Is this the service and food quality of the "Royal Hotel"? It was so disappointing. Oh, and guess what? I have another party at the same place the day after tomorrow! I don't feel like going already. Oh, if something interesting happens at the next party, I will write about it later! I feel warm now, so I drank the shochu almost raw! But the next day, my head was pounding! Cheap alcohol really lingers, right? (-_-;) *** Hotel Hakodate Royal 16-9 Omoricho, Hakodate, Hokkaido ***

My favorite hair salon, where a friend from the same school year is the manager, celebrated its 8th anniversary with a grand event - a hair show held at the Royal. About 400 people attended, creating a lively atmosphere. It was my first time attending such an event, and I was curious to see what it would be like. The venue was set up like a wedding, with round tables and food served first. Throughout the show, more food was brought out for us to enjoy while watching the models get their hair styled by the salon staff. There were also bingo and raffle draws, with prizes including a travel voucher worth 80,000 yen. The giveaways were so generous that I wondered if the salon was losing money! I participated in the raffle with excitement, but unfortunately, I didn't win anything. Despite the disappointing food, I would love to attend another hair show in the future, hopefully at a different venue. (Visited on December 8, 2013)
