Seafood bowl that goes well with beer from daytime. The scallops were thick and delicious. There were several restaurants inside, but we decided on Platto at the farthest end. It's quite far to the market, so you need a taxi or a car. Taxis are hard to find other than at the station, so we called the taxi driver who took us there to pick us up, which was very helpful. Everyone in Hokkaido is kind, so it was a good decision to go.

I visited the oyster hut in Tomakomai after a year, and oysters are still delicious! I had grilled and sashimi hotate (scallops), which were also delicious. I also had steamed and raw oysters, which were so plump and thick, incredibly delicious! Today, they had extra-large oysters in stock, so I had to try them. Even though medium-sized oysters are satisfyingly large, I wonder how big the extra-large ones are! Both steamed and raw oysters were incredibly delicious, and I am satisfied. Fresh food is best enjoyed on the spot. It seems they also offer all-you-can-eat oysters, but you need to make a reservation three days in advance. Next time, I will try the all-you-can-eat oysters. I took a little break at a market near Tomakomai Fishing Port, which was one of the purposes of this trip. I was curious about the grilled dishes, but I decided to go for the fresh thick oysters from Akkeshi, in a large size. They were so big that I almost mistook them for rock oysters. They truly were like the milk of the sea, and I enjoyed them very much.

I visited the harbor market in Tomakomai in October 2022. This shop has a souvenir shop and a simple cafeteria in the back. At the entrance, there are Hokkigai and oysters lined up, which they will cook for you. I ordered Hokkigai sashimi, and it was incredibly fresh and delicious. When in Tomakomai, I always want to have Hokkigai, so I thought this was a wonderful shop.

There is a restaurant that you haven't been to yet! Let's go in! In this restaurant, they are currently serving fresh Hokkai clams from Tomakomai. You can buy a large Hokkai clam with the shell on, or for an additional 100 yen, they will prepare it as sashimi for you to enjoy in the restaurant. The Tomakomai Hokkai clam sashimi costs 600 yen. The freshly peeled Hokkai clam is naturally fresh, and you can enjoy the meat and sinew. The meat is crispy with a fibrous texture, and the Tomakomai Hokkai clam is rich in unique savory sweetness. The sinew has a strong umami flavor that gradually spreads in your mouth. Enjoy a satisfying seafood dessert!

I wanted to eat some oysters, but going from Muroran to Akkeshi is too far. When I searched for nearby options, I found out that you can buy Akkeshi oysters at the Tomakomai Port Market. They also offer an option to eat there. However, I wasn't sure about the type of oysters - whether they were "Kakieemon" or "Marueemon". The oysters were delicious, but they were more than twice the price compared to buying them locally. I thought maybe the prices would be lower at the market, but that wasn't the case. I ordered over 40 live oysters for over 10,000 yen, but there was no service provided, which was a bit disappointing (Akkeshi provided some service). It might be a good option for those who only want to eat a few oysters, but it's not suitable for a family like ours who eats over 40 oysters. The interior of the restaurant was in Consadole colors, which was amusing.

A pleasant day trip drive through Shikotsu Lake, enjoying the spring weather. After lunch, I decided to try some oysters since I already had some scallops.

[Akkeshi oysters]
Akkeshi oysters are known for being available all year round. The meat is packed tightly inside the slightly elongated shell. Squeezing some lemon over it and taking a bite, the taste of the sea fills your mouth. Delicious!
[Iwate oysters]
Iwate oysters are famous from the Sanriku region, but it's not easy to come across them in Hokkaido. The meat is thick and plump inside the large, round shell. Juicy and flavorful when you bite into it. Rich in minerals with a hint of sweetness. Both Akkeshi and Iwate oysters are incredibly delicious, with a rich umami flavor that is hard to compare. It's such a happy holiday. Let's wander around the market a bit more. Thank you for the meal. Thank you very much.

I was about to enjoy Hokki Curry and Seafood Bowl when I noticed the words "Hokkaido-grown oysters". I decided to stay and have the last oysters of 2021. These fresh oysters were a fitting way to end the year. I savored them with just a squeeze of lemon juice. Creamy and bursting with the flavor of oysters. If only I could have had some sake with them... The Hokkaido-grown oysters did not disappoint and were delicious as expected. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant, which is a 2021 relationship partner of Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo. The specialty here is oysters, as the name suggests, but I'm not particularly fond of oysters, so I had the surf clam curry instead. It was delicious, just as good as the other place. This is a shop located inside the Platto Minato Market, known for its all-you-can-eat oysters. I visited around 8:20 am on a weekday and ordered the Oyster Curry for 980 yen. I didn't ask for details, but it seems they cook ingredients purchased elsewhere here. The curry arrived in about 10 minutes. I paid in cash. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

If you want to eat delicious oysters in Tomakomai, this is the place to go! This time, I chose a set to compare oysters from Iwate and Akkeshi, and I also added some fried oysters (*´꒳`*) I love grilling them the most♡ The Iwate oysters are large and satisfying, while the Akkeshi oysters are small and firm. Both are equally delicious and it's hard to choose a favorite♫

Tomakomai Platto Minato Market is open from 7 am. I watched a Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo soccer game the day before, and this is the shop of Captain Miyazawa's relative. The shop is filled with Consadole and Miyazawa player. [Order] Oyster curry. Oyster fry. Anyway, it's huge and delicious! There are plenty of oysters. Please be careful if you have a small appetite.

The freshness is outstanding, and zero calories? At the oyster hut in the seafood market in Tomakomai, we enjoyed incredibly fresh oysters and surf clams. What's amazing is the price! A large oyster from Akkeshi costs only 200 yen each! The surf clam is 500 yen! If you eat inside the store, there is an additional 50 yen charge for service, but that's no problem at all. Of course, the taste is also excellent! Thank you for the meal.

First visit. I was nearby for another reason, but I really wanted to eat oysters, so I arrived at 15:50 at a place that closes at 16:00. Just made it in time! (I must be an annoying customer, right?) There were still only two groups eating inside. I asked, "I just want to eat one raw oyster, is it already closed?" and they kindly showed me in. The oyster was huge and so fresh. I left after eating just one. (The two groups that were there before were still eating, haha) I am very satisfied with the fresh oysters. Next time, I want to go with more time and try the grilled oysters too.

In April 2020, I felt like eating crab at the Muroran Port Market, so I decided to stop by. However, the market seemed deserted as the tourists had disappeared. The locals don't buy certain things on a daily basis, so they end up being wasted. I wandered around and ended up getting lured in by a staff member who offered to peel the crab for me. I had already eaten lunch, so I wasn't sure if I could eat a lot. But when they said they would peel even just one, I couldn't resist. I ordered two of each type of oyster from different regions: Miyagi, Mie Toba, and Akkeshi in Hokkaido. I also ordered a beer. I couldn't drink a lot, so I had to order a small glass. The oysters were delicious, although I couldn't really tell the difference in taste between them. Overall, it was a tasty experience. (Visited in early April. Thank you for the meal.)

I went to an oyster shack for the first time in a while (*´꒳`*). This time, I had oysters from Akkeshi, Hokkaido, eaten raw, steamed, and grilled. The extra-large size oyster I had raw was so big that it overflowed from my mouth, providing a satisfying eating experience!! It was pure bliss~
