During a business trip, I wandered in for a visit. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building and has a spacious and calm interior. As soon as I entered, I was seated at the counter surrounding the hearth. I mainly enjoyed sashimi dishes, and each dish was quite generous in portion size. It was difficult to order a variety of dishes when dining alone, but everything was delicious. The sashimi of Matsukawa flounder and the charcoal-grilled asparagus were particularly tasty.

On the third night of our trip to Hokkaido, two of us visited this restaurant for the first time. We returned from Ishikari to Sapporo, returned the rental car, and came here! According to my drinking friends, it is a popular restaurant that serves very delicious food, so we made a reservation and visited at the opening time. We had reserved a private table, but when we asked the young waiter if we could switch to the counter seats where we could see the hearth, he immediately agreed. We enjoyed the following dishes at the counter seats: appetizers for 550 yen each, fresh herring sashimi for 825 yen, Matsukawa (tatak) sashimi for 935 yen, Tokishirazu charcoal-grilled for 1210 yen, thick shell-on live oysters from Akkeshi for 990 yen, Hokkaido wieners for 858 yen, Hokkaido asparagus charcoal-grilled for 770 yen, and grilled live scallops from Odaigahama. The fresh herring and Matsukawa sashimi were delicious with a nice fatty flavor. The oysters were large and reasonably priced, but the Tokishirazu charcoal-grilled dish had a slight smell that was disappointing. We were drawn to the aroma and size of the grilled scallops being cooked on the hearth by someone else. They were delicious and satisfying to eat. Although we were seated at the counter, there was little interaction with the staff, which was a bit disappointing. For drinks, we had three glasses of Sapporo Classic draft beer for 495 yen each, Ezo Fukurou wheat shochu on the rocks for 660 yen, and Niseko Junmai Ginjo sake for 990 yen per serving.

I visited after 8 p.m., so Yuran's desired fresh sea urchin was already sold out, which was disappointing. But we decided to switch gears and try other items. First up, the all-you-can-drink option! It's great that many places in Hokkaido offer individual all-you-can-drink options. You can drink without any worries, although you might suffer from a headache the next day. We ordered fresh sea squirt sashimi and whelk sashimi. Sea squirt has a bit of a unique taste (Yuran doesn't eat it), and the presentation seemed a bit off. Yuran loves whelk! It's crunchy and delicious, but the pieces were small. The fried chicken was surprisingly tasty, with a crispy batter. We enjoyed the surf clam tempura with salt, as the meat was tender and delicious. The raw geoduck clam was crunchy and frozen (obviously). Yuran felt it had a strong fishy smell. As for the cod milt... I can't remember. The photos didn't turn out very appetizing. After this, we headed to karaoke, continuing our tipsy Yuran group adventure.

This is a restaurant located near Sapporo Station in Chuo Ward, Sapporo. On this day, I wanted to treat my guests from Tokyo to seasonal "sanma" here. We had grilled and sashimi sanma. The news mentioned that this year's sanma is small in size, but it was indeed small. However, it was very delicious with good fat content. The sashimi also had a nice fatty texture and was delicious. We also ordered Hokkaido specialties like "live squid sashimi" and "dried Atka mackerel." The squid was transparent and still moving slightly, with a crunchy texture and delicious taste similar to what you would find in Hakodate. The Atka mackerel had a thick flesh and was satisfying to eat. Lastly, we finished with a local sake from Nemuro, "Hokkai no Katsu."

We had dishes like hokke, ruibe, and oysters grilled over charcoal. The alcohol goes down smoothly. For the finale, we had grilled rice balls.

I am very dissatisfied with the slow service of my order. I don't think being busy is a valid excuse. It's unacceptable for the sashimi platter I ordered first to take over 40 minutes. I can understand if it's grilled or fried dishes, but not for this. We arrived at 5:30 PM and the restaurant wasn't even that full.

You can't eat delicious food without spending money. The Hanasaki crab was small for 4200 yen. The horse mackerel was not particularly delicious. The sashimi of shellfish, scallops, clams, and surf clams were 1800 yen, but not great. However, the squid, sardine sashimi, sea urchin were delicious. The Otoko Yamahonjozo sake was smooth and easy to drink. Sapporo is really nice after all.

I had a meal with someone who came from Tokyo. We had Chinese food together in Tokyo, so I decided to go for something more Hokkaido-like this time. Even though VIPs usually wouldn't choose a casual izakaya-style place, I thought the relaxed atmosphere would be sufficient. The course cost 5940 yen and included 10 dishes with dishes like Hanasaki crab and hot pot, along with all-you-can-drink. The restaurant was full when we entered, with older businessmen and people from overseas. The menu may not be very appealing to young women (laughs). The seat was right by the road, so you could see Sapporo city, which might be nice for people from outside the area. We started with a toast with beer and highball. The menu included sea urchin, sashimi, simmered fish, tempura, and hot pot. The dishes had well-known fish names, and the addition of Hanasaki crab made it suitable for entertaining guests who don't often visit Hokkaido. While the freshness wasn't exceptional, overall, I think it was satisfying. The drink service was very fast despite the restaurant being full. Next time, I'll take my time and order dishes individually. Thank you for the meal.

When you come to Hokkaido, you must try the fresh seafood. Among a few options, I chose a restaurant where the entrance for employees is through an elevator inside the building, leading to the second floor. The interior of the restaurant was delightful, with a central counter in the shape of a "C" focusing on a charcoal grill. I ordered wine, and as my glass was running low, the staff promptly asked if I wanted a refill. The seafood was incredibly fresh, a true blessing from the land of the north. The appetizing smell of the fish being grilled right in front of me tempted both my appetite and my desire for alcohol. Next time, I will try the grilled rice balls (laughs).

Suddenly, I had to go on a business trip to Hokkaido. It was just for the day, but since the meeting time was uncertain, I booked a flight for a later time. However, the meeting ended early, so I decided to try some delicious food in Hokkaido before heading back. As I was walking towards the station, I noticed a sign for Nemuro and decided to give that place a try. The restaurant was on the second floor, with a counter at the entrance and the kitchen inside. When I tried to order a course meal for myself, I was told it was for two or more people. I ordered beer, sake, sea pineapple, fresh saury sashimi from Nemuro, and more. As I was enjoying these dishes, asparagus, Okhotsk atka mackerel, and sushi were all served almost simultaneously by different staff members from different directions. There were mistakes in the food delivery and no receipt was provided, making it impossible to check. Despite the issues, I decided to eat the food. What should have been an enjoyable meal turned out to be quite unpleasant. Additionally, I noticed Dassai sake in the fridge, which was not listed on the menu. When I asked about the price, I was told it was three thousand yen per glass due to a premium. This was a far cry from the expectations I had for Dassai sake. I will not be visiting this restaurant again.

During a business trip, I went to this cozy fireplace grill restaurant with a colleague. The aroma, appearance, and sizzling sound of the dishes were irresistible and really boosted my appetite. We started with bottled beer, fried chicken, and three unique appetizers. The flavors were truly delicious and ready to eat. The restaurant prepares dishes with care from scratch, using minimal ingredients, and serves them in two orders, which is impressive. However, the prices were on par with high-end restaurants in Ginza. It was a bit disappointing that the staff didn't know much about the dishes or ingredients. But overall, I was satisfied because the food was delicious.

Sapporo Night - as a tourist! I was treated by a coordinator and got drunk, so I don't know how much it cost (sweat). The coordinator works around Sapporo Station, so we met at a shop near the station instead of going to Susukino. Since I was in Hokkaido, I wanted to eat seafood. My friend and I both like shellfish, so we ordered live surf clam and scallop sashimi. We also ordered grilled corn, asparagus, and octopus fritters at the charcoal-grilled restaurant. We also used a coupon to add sea urchin. First, we toasted with Sapporo Classic beer - delicious! The surf clam and scallop sashimi were amazingly fresh and crunchy, especially the scallop. The grilled corn and asparagus brought out their sweetness, and the octopus fritters were tasty. The sea urchin, though small, was sweet and luxurious. The coordinator arrived, and I wanted to order mackerel sashimi, but my companion didn't like raw fish, so I didn't order it. I enjoyed the mackerel sashimi and grilled mackerel that my companion ordered. I had quite a bit to drink by this point, so I didn't take photos, but the mackerel sashimi was incredibly fresh and delicious. I also tried the grilled mackerel. It was a delicious restaurant that made me feel the level of Hokkaido. And so the night in Sapporo came to an end.

I learned for the first time that "大平" is read as "Ohyo." I visited this restaurant during the holidays and found it to be bustling. It seems to be close to Sapporo Station. The clientele didn't seem like typical office workers, but the menu was extensive and the atmosphere of the robatayaki was enjoyable. I was pleased to be able to try the thick-shelled oysters from Akkeshi, as we can't get them in Kanto at this time of year. The pricing is on the high side, but maybe that's just how it is in the city? The idea of "eating cheap, fresh, and delicious fish in Hokkaido" may be a misconception. Perhaps these prices are reasonable in Sapporo. I would like to stop by again when staying at a hotel in the area. (Although the last order is at 10:30, which is a bit late.) If the timing is right, I would also like to try the sea urchin with the shell on.

My colleague in Sapporo made a reservation for our stay at a hotel near Sapporo Station this time. The location is honestly a bit hard to find, but it's not the typical touristy area like Susukino, so the restaurants cater more to locals. The appetizers are all delicious. Peppermint is great this season, which is common in Sapporo (only in winter), but I haven't tried it in Kanto. And fresh surf clam is also good, typical of Hokkaido. To finish off, I had Sanpei soup and ikura rice balls, which made my metabolic syndrome worse. You can enjoy Sapporo at a reasonable price. The food is all above average. I will definitely visit again when staying near Sapporo Station.

Summary: When you enter the restaurant, you will see a counter surrounding the charcoal grill, which is appetizing to watch the food being cooked. You can enjoy mainly seafood from Nemuro. Price: For two people, including bottled beer, sake, and 4 dishes, the total is 7500 yen.
Dishes and content: With a friend's recommendation, I visited the restaurant and enjoyed a few dishes. The freshly grilled potatoes and scallops were delicious. I prefer dried fish, and the scallop meat was plump and had a sweet taste that paired well with sake. The dish "mizukasu-ni" was unfamiliar to me, with a texture similar to white fish. The "striped shrimp" was a challenge to peel due to its tough shell, but the lively movement of the shrimp surprised and amused me. The entire experience left a lasting impression, with moments of laughter shared with my companion.
Final thoughts: The restaurant focuses on fresh seafood prepared either as sashimi or grilled dishes. Thank you, Kaisen Robata Hamakichi!
