Shiraoi - After getting off the Inter, at a slightly inconspicuous intersection that goes towards the town, on the diagonal opposite side of the temple, there is a not very noticeable ^^; feeling of a store. Looking at the oldest review, it seems like they have been operating since 2009, quite a while ago. Then, after seeing Mattyan's review, I had been wanting to visit this place ^^ This time, on August 8th, it's Tanabata in Hokkaido ^^ Not related but just happened to be in this area for work so decided to drop by - it's actually TOM's restaurant, a place that is a burnt lump of a store ^^ I was thinking of going there but somehow ended up coming here instead ^^ It's a small and quiet place. It's lunchtime but there is only one customer. There doesn't seem to be a counter, so I sat at a table. I ordered the An-kake Yaki Soba without even looking at the menu ^^ Then I leisurely looked through the menu ^^ Just casually looking out the window, I noticed a monochrome-toned car quietly keeping an eye out for traffic violations outside ^^ There aren't many items on the menu, but the variations are not particularly extensive. They have ramen in miso, salt, and soy sauce flavors. But overall, the menu seems well put together. They also have set meals. The An-kake Yaki Soba comes in only one salt-based flavor. While soy sauce is available, I usually don't order variations like curry flavor... Either way, I prefer salt. Although, the An-kake Yaki Soba at Ichiran is really good ^^ Oh, I haven't been there in a while but the An-kake at Chinrai near the port is also delicious. And now, the An-kake Yaki Soba has arrived ^^ Looks delicious! Served on a white plate with salt, the clear sauce typical of Chinese restaurants looks beautiful ^^ The ingredients are quite large, with a variety of ingredients including wood ear mushrooms. They also provided a spoon, which is nice. Let's dig in! The ingredients are large, and it seems like the dish is prepared quickly, with a simple salt sauce. The sauce itself doesn't have much flavor from the ingredients. But with the large ingredients, and the simple salt sauce, you can really taste each ingredient as you eat. Or maybe, it's the satisfying feeling of eating substantial ingredients ^^ The steamed noodles also have a nice amount of charred bits on them. Personally, I would prefer them a bit more charred. This size of ingredients might be what makes An-kake Yaki Soba delicious. After finishing the meal... it was tasty and I enjoy An-kake, but it might be a bit too simple for me. I still want to come back to this place ^^ I'm curious about their ramen, fried rice, and the gyoza that most people seem to enjoy ^^ Speaking of gyoza, I have tried the "Hakata Black Pork Bite-sized Gyoza" through the hometown tax payment system, and it was really delicious ^^ For a donation of 10,000 yen, you get 100 pieces (25 pieces x 4 trays). I'm not trying to advertise it (although it seems like I am ^^;), but it was really delicious ^^ I donated twice because it was so good ^^ Oh, sorry ^^ Should I delete this? Will UA-san tell me to? ^^; Well, I definitely want to come back soon ^^ Shiraoi Chinese Restaurant "Kyou"
