Before my first visit in December 2022, I had encountered a unique dumpling at a takeout-only dumpling shop in Tomakomai. The dumpling, named "dabudabu gyoza," was a bit different, but it originated from this shop. I popped in just before the end of lunchtime and ordered the lunch set with "ankake yakisoba" and dumplings. Today's special included a drink, so I chose jasmine tea from the selection. The ankake yakisoba had nicely grilled noodles with a good mix of ingredients like Chinese cabbage, pork, shrimp, squid, bok choy, wood ear mushrooms, and onions. It was interesting that it didn't include carrots or bamboo shoots, and the use of boiled pork in the pork meat was unique. Unlike dishes like sweet and sour pork, there wasn't much onion in the ankake yakisoba, which was unusual. The texture of the sauce was just right, not too thick or too runny, with a perfectly balanced seasoning. The dumplings had a thick, chewy skin filled with juicy meat, and they were delicious, especially when freshly grilled. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with circular booth seating for four, two four-person table seats, and two low tables for four in a raised area. The service was very polite and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience. I look forward to trying their fried rice on my next visit. ============================== ◇ Ankake Yakisoba Set (Lunch) 990 yen

Mapo noodle set for 1050 yen. The mapo noodles are bland with no punch. Not very tasty. The dumplings are good but small. The soup is light in flavor. Overall lacking in punch and volume. Sharing a table with strangers is necessary. Uncomfortable. At least provide condiments for each person.

I timidly entered the restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. I promptly ordered what seemed to be a grilled dumpling set meal. As for the sauce... it was just soy sauce, vinegar, pepper, and chili oil. Do they expect you to mix it yourself? I was hoping for a special sauce since they are boasting about their dumplings. I usually eat my dumplings with a blend of half vinegar and half oyster sauce, with plenty of black pepper in the sauce, so I was expecting a specialized sauce. Unfortunately, the portion size seemed a bit lacking even with the large rice portion as shown in the photo. I may have sounded a bit arrogant this time. They might say, "Then make it yourself," but this is my impression this time. Lastly, what are "double double dumplings"? Is it about the meat juice? I couldn't figure it out. Oh!! Is it about boiled dumplings? I'll try it next time.

Fried rice set (850 yen including tax) was recommended with a drink included on this day. The fried rice had a light and traditional Japanese flavor, and came with 4 pieces of pan-fried dumplings, soup, and pickled vegetables. The fried rice was delicious, but the highlight of this restaurant is the incredibly tasty dumplings. Be careful of the juicy filling inside the dumplings when they are freshly made.

I was surprised to find soy sauce-based ramen with mapo tofu on top, and it turned out to be mapo eggplant! It was in the style of zhajiangmian. The flavor was rich to complement the noodles, but not overpowering. The fried rice was surprisingly light but incredibly delicious. It was well-seasoned and not greasy, and I finished it in no time. They also sell frozen dumplings. The skin was chewy and the filling was meaty without garlic, providing a satisfying bite. I will definitely be trying more dumplings next time!

When passing through Fujisaki-mae in Ichibancho, there was an event called the Shiraoi Town Upopoi Fair in Sendai. They were selling various products from Shiraoi Town. I bought the "Gyoza that makes you want to slurp up the juicy meat juices." It is a round, thick-skinned gyoza. First, I tried half of it as a pan-fried gyoza. The skin is chewy. The meat juice is indeed as advertised, very juicy. I ended up making a mess on the floor (laughs).

This is my second visit. Last time, I had the gyoza lunch, so this time I ordered the ankake yakisoba. It was brought to me after a short wait. The noodles were a perfect mix of crispy and soft, and the generous toppings in the sauce made it very satisfying. I want to try a different menu item next time.

I found out about this restaurant recently and visited for the first time today. There were a few customers inside at 12 o'clock. I ordered the gyoza set meal. It was brought to me after a short wait. The gyoza was different from what I imagined, but the skin was chewy and juicy, and it was delicious.

This popular restaurant is featured in various gourmet magazines. The most popular dish here seems to be the dumplings, as I often see many customers ordering them. While I tend to order items other than dumplings, I believe that every menu item has a delicious taste that is not too heavy and easy to enjoy, making it particularly popular among women. With the opening of Upopoi, I've noticed cars from a wide range of regions parking in the lot. It would be great if this restaurant continues to be loved by even more people in the future!

■Lunch - Ankake Yakisoba Set 880 yen While there are plenty of vegetables and the balance of ingredients is not bad, I personally feel like I would like a pinch of salt in the sauce, or a bit more depth of flavor. The bite-sized gyoza is meaty yet juicy, with a chewy skin. It's pretty good, right?

A small Chinese restaurant located in Shiraoi Town center. Despite its small size, the interior is clean and well-maintained, with a circular counter, table seating, and raised seating area. The lunch menu mainly consists of set meals with a variety of options to choose from. The "Ankake Yakisoba Set" for 880 yen includes ankake yakisoba, grilled dumplings, and rice. The ankake yakisoba has a refined taste with a salt flavor, and is generously filled with large shrimp, pork, and vegetables. The noodles are slightly thin and soft, but some parts are burnt and crispy, which detracts from the overall texture and taste. The ankake sauce is simple and light, although a touch more saltiness would enhance the flavor. The grilled dumplings are small but well-cooked, with a thin and chewy skin filled with a meaty filling. Overall, the restaurant offers authentic Chinese cuisine with a casual dining experience and satisfying flavors. The portion sizes are generous for the price, making it a convenient choice for everyday dining.

Visit date: Around 7:00 PM on October 4, 2018. On this day, my family and I were packing up our belongings for our move back to Ebetsu. As the evening approached, we decided to have dinner at the restaurant "Chuka Shokudo An". I have visited this restaurant before, but I did not take any photos, so this is my first review on Tabelog. This time, I ordered the "Mapo Tofu Teishoku (price at that time unknown, currently ¥920)". The set included mapo tofu, rice, soup, cold dish, and pickled vegetables. I could also choose between dessert or a drink, and I chose almond jelly for dessert. After a short wait, the set meal arrived. To be honest, I don't remember the taste very well, but the crunchy texture of the cold dish stood out to me. By the way, the restaurant is actually larger inside than it appears from the outside! I wonder which is more popular, this Chinese restaurant "Chuka Shokudo An" or "Taifeng" that I mentioned in the title? Personally, I think both are good. I hope to have the opportunity to visit again someday. Thank you for the meal.

Shiraoi - After getting off the Inter, at a slightly inconspicuous intersection that goes towards the town, on the diagonal opposite side of the temple, there is a not very noticeable ^^; feeling of a store. Looking at the oldest review, it seems like they have been operating since 2009, quite a while ago. Then, after seeing Mattyan's review, I had been wanting to visit this place ^^ This time, on August 8th, it's Tanabata in Hokkaido ^^ Not related but just happened to be in this area for work so decided to drop by - it's actually TOM's restaurant, a place that is a burnt lump of a store ^^ I was thinking of going there but somehow ended up coming here instead ^^ It's a small and quiet place. It's lunchtime but there is only one customer. There doesn't seem to be a counter, so I sat at a table. I ordered the An-kake Yaki Soba without even looking at the menu ^^ Then I leisurely looked through the menu ^^ Just casually looking out the window, I noticed a monochrome-toned car quietly keeping an eye out for traffic violations outside ^^ There aren't many items on the menu, but the variations are not particularly extensive. They have ramen in miso, salt, and soy sauce flavors. But overall, the menu seems well put together. They also have set meals. The An-kake Yaki Soba comes in only one salt-based flavor. While soy sauce is available, I usually don't order variations like curry flavor... Either way, I prefer salt. Although, the An-kake Yaki Soba at Ichiran is really good ^^ Oh, I haven't been there in a while but the An-kake at Chinrai near the port is also delicious. And now, the An-kake Yaki Soba has arrived ^^ Looks delicious! Served on a white plate with salt, the clear sauce typical of Chinese restaurants looks beautiful ^^ The ingredients are quite large, with a variety of ingredients including wood ear mushrooms. They also provided a spoon, which is nice. Let's dig in! The ingredients are large, and it seems like the dish is prepared quickly, with a simple salt sauce. The sauce itself doesn't have much flavor from the ingredients. But with the large ingredients, and the simple salt sauce, you can really taste each ingredient as you eat. Or maybe, it's the satisfying feeling of eating substantial ingredients ^^ The steamed noodles also have a nice amount of charred bits on them. Personally, I would prefer them a bit more charred. This size of ingredients might be what makes An-kake Yaki Soba delicious. After finishing the meal... it was tasty and I enjoy An-kake, but it might be a bit too simple for me. I still want to come back to this place ^^ I'm curious about their ramen, fried rice, and the gyoza that most people seem to enjoy ^^ Speaking of gyoza, I have tried the "Hakata Black Pork Bite-sized Gyoza" through the hometown tax payment system, and it was really delicious ^^ For a donation of 10,000 yen, you get 100 pieces (25 pieces x 4 trays). I'm not trying to advertise it (although it seems like I am ^^;), but it was really delicious ^^ I donated twice because it was so good ^^ Oh, sorry ^^ Should I delete this? Will UA-san tell me to? ^^; Well, I definitely want to come back soon ^^ Shiraoi Chinese Restaurant "Kyou"
