Revisited a popular Western confectionery shop in the Haga shopping street. The head pastry chef is a graduate of Pierre Hermé, so there are many cakes with a glamorous appearance and original compositions. The macarons also seem to be a specialty, but I personally don't like macarons (laughs) I visited during the weekend lunchtime. As usual, there was a line of several people in front of the shop, but as usual, the staff here are excellent, so the line moves quickly. This is also one of the strengths of this shop. Whole peach tart (1250 yen): A super popular item that sold 1970 pieces in just a month last summer is back this year. So I went to buy it right away. A tart base filled with crème d'amande and baked, topped with peaches. Inside the peach, there is diplomat cream mixed with cream cheese and raspberry confiture. The sweetness and flavor of the peach are truly enchanting. They must be using really good peaches. The cream and confiture filled in perfectly complement the peach, making it even more delicious than eating the peach as is. The tart base has a crispy texture and the flavor of the crème d'amande can be enjoyed, and the contrast with the juicy peach is also enjoyable. The high price and slightly difficult eating are drawbacks, but considering that you can fully enjoy the seasonal peaches, it's not a big problem. By the way, purchases are done by a ticket system, but it is also possible to make a reservation by phone. So if you want to buy it, it's safer to make a reservation. It's a pain to line up for tickets in the middle of summer. However, it seems that same-day reservations are not accepted. Eclair Rum Raisin (620 yen): A limited-time product for the French Patisserie Week. The composition includes tayberry confiture, white chocolate mousse, rum raisins, and rum-flavored Chantilly. Ohh, delicious! This year's theme is ["Eclair"], so I was sure that Ryora-san was an MVP candidate! As expected, it's delicious. The base part of rum raisins and white chocolate is sweet and rich, which is unusual for this shop, but the rum-flavored Chantilly on top is light like a drink, and the refreshing taste of tayberry confiture makes it much lighter than the taste you would associate with rum raisins. The state of the choux pastry is also good. Really, the variety of eclairs here is delicious every time. It's a very delicious eclair, but maybe it would have been even more delicious in autumn or winter. The peach tart was voluminous, so I only had two cakes this time, but there are so many other items in the showcase that I want to try... I'll have to revisit before summer ends. I also want to try the peach tart again.
