A shop selected as one of the top 100 in the Sweets TOKYO division in 2018/2019/2020/2022. I expected the shop to be crowded, but there was no one there, so it felt lucky. I took out the sweets and enjoyed them at home. "Caramel Salé" It was said to be the chef's masterpiece, but for caramel lovers, it must be irresistible. However, both my wife and I felt that the caramel was too strong, making it feel heavy. "Meringue Chantilly Caramel" The caramel Chantilly cream has a gentle taste, and the crispy and fluffy meringue with a subtle sweetness is a wonderful combination. My wife seems to love the taste. "Peru" Using cocoa from Peru, the chocolate mousse chocolat is excellent, with a moist texture. "Millefeuille" The crispy puff pastry with vanilla-flavored custard cream is irresistible.

I heard that this place will be closing for relocation on October 1, 2023, so I hurried over to get the Caramel Sale that I had decided to buy no matter what. Since there were no customers inside, I decided to have it as an eat-in as I saw that they also have a cafe on the left side. I ordered the Caramel Sale for 560 yen, the recommended Rich Rouge for 650 yen, and an Iced Tea for 650 yen. The Rich Rouge arrived shortly. First, the lychee mousse fragrance, followed by the sweet yet not overly sweet taste of raspberry. The strawberry on top adds a refreshing touch and brings a change in flavor. The firm sponge base complements it well. It's delicious. The Caramel Sale has a caramel flavor that is not as sweet as expected, with a hint of bitterness and a touch of salt that adds a nice flavor variation. The sponge cake base is also firm. It was so delicious that I could have easily eaten about three of them. Since they are closing for relocation, I would love to visit again in the future. Thank you for the meal!

I have visited this restaurant a few times and learned that they will be relocating on October 1st, so I decided to visit one last time. I ordered a Caramel Sale (¥560 before tax) and an iced coffee (¥630 before tax). The Caramel Sale was different from typical cakes as it had a sponge cake with a nice texture, making the sponge cake the star of the dish. It was really delicious. It's a shame that this will be my last time visiting this location near Gakugeidaigaku Station, but thank you for the meal.

When it comes to sweet shops at Gakushuin University, Matternhorn or Koko are the go-to choices. They are located near Hibanata Park. Their signature treat seems to be the Caramel Sale. This time, I went with the chocolate-based Peru. It looks very beautiful, with a glossy finish. The sweetness is just right and the chocolate is moist. I also got a small pancake-like Caramel Sale flavor as an addition. I remember the Caramel Sale in the cake being quite bitter, but this one was easy to eat and delicious. The aroma of the liquor is also nice. It seems they will be closing in October due to relocation, which is a shame.

I visited a popular store that I had been interested in, only to find out that it will be closing on October 1st due to relocation. Their caramel cake with a slightly bitter-sweet caramel topping was delicious and addictive. The cookie tin was also stylish. It can get a bit crowded, so it's best to visit with plenty of time. They have a nice eat-in space inside, so it seems like a good place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere!

I finally visited a shop I had been wanting to go to for a while! It was a little past 4 pm on a Saturday, but luckily there were still plenty of cakes to choose from. I decided to buy the Eclair Chocolat, which I had seen in a magazine or somewhere before and thought it looked beautiful. I also bought another cake with fruits on top (I forgot the name). Unfortunately, a young staff member accidentally touched the side of the latter cake with their finger when taking it out. They seemed surprised and quickly adjusted the handle on the cardboard, but when I got home, I noticed there was indeed a dent from the finger... (I couldn't ask for a replacement since I couldn't confirm the dent through the glass) I hope they will be more careful to not ruin the beautiful cakes by Chef Nagashima. Both cakes were not only visually appealing but also delicious with rich ganache and fragrant fruit mousse. I was planning to visit again, but I found out on their website that they will be closing in October due to relocation. I hope the new location will be easy to visit... Thank you for the wonderful experience!

- Opera de Verre Roti
Details: As you bite into the cake, the aroma of hojicha spreads out as it crumbles. It feels like you're really drinking hojicha with the overall spreading sensation. Hojicha cakes often have a distinct unnatural sweetness, but this one has a natural sweetness of hojicha which is really good.
- Banana Mango
Details: It's strange how you can really taste the flavors of both banana and mango separately. It's not like they're mixed in a blender, but rather you can taste them together yet separately. Banana and mango go well together, don't they?
- Caramel Sale
Details: This is so delicious. Personally, I'm not a big fan of caramel cakes or caramel itself, but I want to eat this one willingly. The bitterness of caramel brings out a very good flavor. And the saltiness is just perfect. It's slightly on the salty side, but that actually makes it better.
- Tarte Poire Epomuro
Details: Hard to describe. There's some kind of jelly-like topping with fruits, but I'm not a fan of fruits personally, so it's a personal issue.
- Peru
Details: It gives off a taste like a high-quality chocolate specialty shop. It's really difficult to bring out the characteristics of chocolate cakes, isn't it?
- Visit Time: Around 5:30 PM on a holiday
- Crowdedness: No wait
- Reservation: No reservation made in advance
- Number of Visitors: 3 people
- Tabelog Score: 3.89 (as of September 2023)
- Genre: Western Sweets
- Notes: The cakes are a bit smaller compared to cakes from other shops. Even though it was late on a holiday, there were still enough cakes to choose from.

I went to Gakugei University and encountered a lovely cake shop. I tried their signature dish, the Caramel Salt. The caramel's rich sweetness and moist, dense dough were delicious. If you're nearby, you should definitely check it out! ❤️

After dining at "Chinese Cuisine Ajimai," I visited a cake shop I had been eyeing for a while. I arrived around 3:30 PM on a Sunday and found that the eat-in area was almost full. Some cakes were already sold out, but I chose the ones I was interested in:
- Caramel Sale: 560 yen
- Balzac: 620 yen
Total: 1,180 yen (including tax)
After returning home, I shared the cakes with my family. The Caramel Sale, the chef's signature dish, had caramel cream with fleur de sel from Guérande on a pandgenne dough, and the buttery flavor of the dough was excellent. The Balzac had layers of coffee-flavored Bavarois and bitter chocolate from Brazil, creating a deep and rich taste in the mouth. Both cakes were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

RUE DE PASSY is located a 4-minute walk from Gakugei-daigaku Station West Exit. I visited around 1:30 pm on a Sunday in August. The calm dark brown exterior was welcoming, and I was happy to see it open during the summer holidays. I remembered having shopped here before. This shop was selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops in 2023. The cakes in the showcase were beautifully presented, with caramel, madeleines, financiers, bonbons, macarons, and other cute sweets lined up. Everything looked delicious. I bought some baked goods for takeout. I got the Cake Orange Abricot for ¥324 - it's a pound cake with orange and semi-dried apricots. It had a lovely butter and liqueur aroma, was fluffy, and had a nice texture. The apricots soaked in liqueur added a rich flavor. It had a shelf life of about 3 weeks, which was convenient. The shop card mentioned, "We do not use preservatives, so please consume it soon." I liked that it was a natural treat. It looked so delicious that I couldn't wait to try it. They accept cash, and their regular holidays are on Mondays and Tuesdays. They also offer shipping to other regions.

I visited in the evening and was able to enter right away without much waiting. Although some cakes were sold out, there were still plenty of options to choose from. I had originally planned to buy some to take home, so I purchased a variety of baked goods along with a cake and a tart. The prune tart in the photo was incredibly delicious, one of the best cakes I've had in a long time. I also tried several of the baked goods, and the financiers and lemon sablés were particularly tasty! I love lemon-flavored sweets, so I definitely want to go back for more!

After finishing lunch, we headed to the dessert shop called "RUE DE PASSY". The shop is located about a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Gakugeidaigaku Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line. We arrived around 13:15 and had called ahead to reserve a cake in advance. We arrived at the shop around 13:30, informed them of our reservation, and requested a seat for eating in. I ordered an iced coffee as my drink and paid for the cake in advance. We were then directed to the seating area at the back of the shop, where there were four tables for two people each. Luckily, one table was available. The popular "Caramel Sale" cake is the chef's signature dish, made with caramel-flavored banded genoise sponge cake and caramel cream infused with Guérande sea salt. The balance of sweetness, bitterness, and saltiness was perfect. This cake is delicious! Thank you for the meal!

The decorations are like a Parisian salon de thé. I highly recommend the cakes, they are delicious and worth the price. The 700 yen iced coffee tasted like one you can buy at a supermarket, but the cakes were really good, so it's worth visiting just for them.

Meguro cafe. It is located about a 10-minute walk from Gakugeidaigaku Station. One of the top 100 sweets shops in 2022. I went there around 4 pm on Saturday, and it was about 70% full. The showcase displays beautiful cakes, but popular ones are often sold out. I had the following items for eat-in:
- Caramel Sale (605 yen)
- Lemonade (715 yen)
The chef's masterpiece, Caramel Sale, is a beautiful cake with layers of caramel cream. The top caramel sauce is rich and unique, with a hint of Guérande sea salt as you eat further. This is delicious! The Lemonade, with a combination of syrup and lemon compote, is light and slightly bitter, which pairs really well. Truly one of the top cake shops in the country. The caramel cakes here have a unique deliciousness that can only be found here. I would love to visit this place again if I'm in the area. There are many excellent cake shops around here. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Located at Meguro Gakuin Daigaku Station and opened in 2001, "RUE DE PASSY" is a shop with a name that means "Passy Street" in French. The chef, Chef Nagashima, trained at various patisseries in Loire, Normandy, Midi-Pyrenees, Haute-Savoie, and Paris, and studied under M.O.F. chef Philippe Urraca. Chef Nagashima is particularly renowned for his caramel sweets. In France, caramel has evolved into a type of sweet similar to chocolate, and well-known carameliers such as Henri Le Roux and Caramel Paris (now Atelier Gateau) have gained popularity in Japan as well. The shop offers both dine-in options and the opportunity to enjoy cakes with drinks. The Caramel Sale for 616 yen and coffee for 660 yen are recommended. The caramel's nuttiness, bitterness, richness, and the salt (from Guerande) enhance its sweetness. The sweet and salty flavor profile reminds one of traditional Japanese mitarashi. The smooth texture and layering of caramel sponge (pandogenne) and caramel cream are highlights of RUE DE PASSY. Chef Nagashima's expertise in caramel confectionery is also recognized in the industry, such as his collaboration with Tanakaya Senbei Sohonpo to create caramel senbei matsuhono. The future of caramel sweets looks promising. Thank you for the delicious meal!

【Nearest Station】Gakugeidaigaku Station【Shop】Rue de Passy, a famous cake shop in Gakugeidaigaku. Just a 3-minute walk from Gakugeidaigaku Station, nestled in a residential area, you'll find a chic shop that feels like Paris in the middle of Tokyo. The interior has a calm and classical atmosphere. Their specialty cake "Caramel Sale" made by a chef who excels in using caramel is a popular item.【Food】Caramel SaleHandmade Caramel Set of 10 piecesChocolat Noisette (cookie)【Impressions】On a Sunday morning, I called ahead to reserve the cakes and visited in the evening. I got everything to go. The Caramel Sale is a cake with layers of sponge (almond dough?) and caramel cream. It's moist, and the richness, slight bitterness, and saltiness of the caramel are exquisite. It's even better when enjoyed with delicious coffee or tea. The handmade caramels come in a set of 10 with different flavors: Vanilla, Coffee with Walnuts, Strawberry, Lemon with Almonds, Venezuelan Chocolate, Raspberry, Sicilian Pistachio, Jasmine Tea, Orange with Hazelnuts, and Blueberry. I personally liked the Venezuelan Chocolate and the classic Vanilla. The baked goods all looked delicious, so I also bought the Chocolat Noisette. I love hazelnuts, and this was incredibly tasty. It had a light and crispy texture, with a wonderful aroma of butter, cocoa, and hazelnuts. It was so light that I could easily keep eating, but I tried to savor it slowly. Thank you for the wonderful treats.

Ludopassie is a cake shop near Gakugeidaigaku Station known for its cakes and caramels! The chef's signature caramel sauce is a delightful blend of caramel cream with the sweetness of Guerande sea salt. The caramels are made with the finest cream and butter, offering a sophisticated yet slightly syrupy taste. The refreshing mint-flavored guimauve is also highly recommended! The chef is a veteran who previously worked at renowned establishments in France and Japan. If you're interested in trying out a cake shop with exquisite caramels near Gakugeidaigaku Station, be sure to check out Ludopassie! #GakugeidaigakuGourmet #GakugeidaigakuEateries #Ludopassie #Cake #CakeEateries #142Eateries #July23rd

If you have experience in patisserie from various regions in France, you may be curious about the sweet tooth of the person. One relatively close patisserie where you can find such experiences is "Le Passe" located near Gakugei-daigaku Station. When you exit from the west exit of the station and head left, you will see a police box, and across the street from it is the Honmoku Park Street. Turn left and walk a few minutes to find the shop. The exterior is a chocolate-like color and very chic. It was renovated and relocated about 12 years ago. The interior is not very spacious, but it has a calm and beautiful atmosphere. When I visited on a very hot day around 4 pm, it was not crowded, and I could enter smoothly. The menu includes fresh cakes, baked goods, and a wide variety of items, some of which can also be purchased online. This time, I chose something I wouldn't normally choose, the "Balzac" for ¥638 (tax included) and the "Meringue Chantilly Caramel" for ¥584 (tax included). The Balzac cake is like a tiramisu, with a strong coffee aroma spreading in your mouth as soon as you take a bite. The mild bitterness of the caramel and the lightness of the mousse are impressive. The Meringue Chantilly Caramel cake allows you to fully enjoy the meringue. It is slightly on the sweeter side but quite light, making your mouth happy. You can also feel the caramel flavor, and even those who are not fond of meringue should find it easy to eat. Being loved by the locals for over 20 years, the cakes naturally provide a sense of comfort. Since the caramel salted flavor seems to be a signature dish of this shop, I plan to try it next time I visit. Thank you for the meal.

Rue de Passy at Gakushuin University with cakes. Rue de Passy, which I had been wanting to visit again since my last visit because I really liked the taste. This area is a fierce battleground for cake shops, but this shop stood out among them. A friend who had some business nearby bought cakes for me. Lucky me~ The cakes this time are as follows: Carnival, Caramel, Oranger Amer, and Charlotte Poire. They are all beautiful cakes that really lift your spirits. First, the Carnival. This cake uses plenty of white peaches with coconut dacquoise crust and berry-flavored mascarpone cream. The white peaches are sweet and in season, and the cream is light with a good balance of acidity, making it delicious. Oranger Amer is a cake with bitter orange mousse and jelly, topped with slightly bitter caramel mousse. Rue de Passy is popular for its caramel cakes, and the combination of orange and caramel here is delicious. Even people who are not big fans of sweet desserts can enjoy it. Charlotte Poire is a cake with pear bavarois filled with red fruit jelly, and the pear bavarois is fantastic. The jelly has a tangy flavor, making this cake not too sweet. The specialty of the shop, Caramel Sale, is a cake with caramel-flavored bandgenoise crust and caramel cream. I tried this for the first time this time, and it is incredibly delicious. Personally, I'm not a fan of overly bitter caramel, but the balance of sweetness and bitterness in this caramel is exquisite. This is a must-buy. Unfortunately, the Frasier Chantilly that I really liked last time was not available this time, so I definitely want to try it next time. The cakes this time were quite rich, so those who like that kind of flavor will especially enjoy them. Rue de Passy is definitely top-notch!

I thought I might have to wait in line since this place is popular, but it was okay. However, there were only about 3 types of cakes left and most were sold out. It's a shame. I bought the signature caramel salt cake, Moelleux au Chocolat, Moelleux Caramel Sale, and financiers. I also got pistachio and caramel macarons. The cakes were truly delicious, just as expected from the signature menu items. They had the perfect level of sweetness. I usually don't like macarons that much, but these were moist and tasty. My favorite among the baked goods was the Moelleux Caramel Sale! It was moister than the financiers and suited my taste. Next time, I'll go earlier to buy a few different types of cakes.

I visited Lude Passi near Gakugei-daigaku Station. I went around 4 pm on a weekday and there were only a few cakes left. They also have eat-in options. Here are some cakes that left an impression:
- Charlotte Poire: It looked like a cheesecake but it was a bavarois cake. The smooth bavarois with pear and berry jelly was delightful.
- Orange Ameil: As expected from a place good at caramel, the combination of orange acidity and caramel bitterness was exquisite. A bit more mousse would have been even better.
- Caramel Sale: The slight bitterness of caramel was enhanced by fleur de sel. Overall, the cakes were on the heavier side, which was a bit tough towards the end for someone who eats a lot.笑
