I visited the annual relay race at Makomanai Stadium for the second year in a row and had a great time at the after party. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. We had a 120-minute all-you-can-drink course with a variety of food options including sashimi, Caesar salad, fried chicken, potatoes, fried dumplings, yakitori, soba noodles, ice cream, and more. It seems like the same as last year's post...

At the Shin-Komaba Sekisui Heim Stadium, the Salmon Ekiden Tournament was held after a 2-year hiatus. Unfortunately, it rained heavily during the last leg of the race. We had made a reservation in advance for a post-race party at this place, and it seems quite lively. The all-you-can-drink course for around 2,000 yen was a great deal! We enjoyed plenty of beer and highballs. Surprisingly, the food options included sashimi, Caesar salad, edamame, fried chicken, potatoes, yakitori, soba, and ice cream, which filled our stomachs. We had a great time enjoying the food and drinks while taking shelter from the rain.

I use this place at night. I have used it several times because they offer delivery services. The food, like consommé potato or corn fritters, is delicious. They have a children's lunch menu and free drinks for preschoolers, which is a nice touch. However, the service can be slow, especially when it comes to drinks. I asked for a glass change system when ordering early, but I think they should bring the drinks sooner since they have a designated time for all-you-can-drink. This was disappointing, so I have to give this rating.

AIX Group, thinking of playing it safe with a pub menu, I head to Makomanai Crystal Town (I wonder how many people actually know this name...). Everywhere is crowded during New Year's, but since I made a reservation, we were able to get a table. As soon as I looked at the menu in the booth, I saw the most prominent menu item in big letters and bright colors at the top: "All-you-can-eat pork shabu-shabu & pork sukiyaki with free-flowing drinks including draft beer for 120 minutes (3,518 yen including tax)". My daughter, her husband, and I just love to eat, so we ordered this without hesitation. The side menu is also extensive, with dishes like "Yangnyeom Chicken", "Chicken Zangi", and "Salmon Sashimi", each one delicious. The draft beer is ice-cold and classic, which is delightful. A large plate of assorted vegetables arrives, each one fresh and tasty, including mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, tofu, white konjac, bean sprouts, watercress, and green onions. The shabu-shabu broth allows you to choose 2 out of 5 types: kelp, sukiyaki, salted lemon, umami soy sauce, and curry (for an additional 100 yen), which is a pleasant surprise. We chose "kelp" and "sukiyaki". When the pork arrives, you can see the quality of the meat they use. Despite the common belief that the quality of the meat decreases with each order in all-you-can-eat places, this restaurant keeps serving high-quality meat. The meat is so delicious, and even the fat is tasty. The quality of the meat is so good that it almost feels like a waste to have it as all-you-can-eat. This place is definitely worth a try for those who live nearby. The quality is top-notch. It was a delicious and satisfying meal. Thank you!

Welcome.---------- November 2020 ----------If you walk from the Shin-Komagome area station, you will find a complex building, and one of the restaurants inside is worth mentioning. Hello. This restaurant is rare in this series as it is open for lunch and continuously throughout the day. They have private-like seating and set meals that are popular with the Grand Madame. During lunchtime, you can drink at half price. The drink menu is at half price, but the original price is 580 yen...? The "Punch Lemon Sour" that should originally be 520 yen (= ´∀´)ﾉ凵゛ seems more expensive... The "Zangi Set Meal" has a chewy texture with crispy skin and juicy thigh meat. You can enjoy it by sprinkling salt and eating it quickly. It comes with coleslaw salad, wakame miso soup, and pickles. It is suitable for those who want to drink during lunchtime.

The famous izakaya restaurant "Yama no Saru" is often used for lunch. The all-you-can-eat rice is very attractive to big eaters like my husband and me! The restaurant has many private rooms, so you can enjoy your meal without feeling self-conscious. We brought a baby stroller, and it easily fit in the spacious private room. The lunch may be a bit pricey, but you can eat to your heart's content. The dice steak lunch was delicious and the rice was very satisfying! I highly recommend it for those who want to eat a lot.

I visited Mountain Monkey for lunch. It's an izakaya, but they also have a lunch menu, which was more extensive than I expected! I was seated in a private room with a curtain at the entrance, which made it very cozy without worrying about other customers or staff. I ordered Tofu and Vegetable Grated Daikon Set (¥850), Shirasu Topped Cold Tofu (¥190), and Oolong Tea (¥100). It turned out to be a tofu festival! The Shirasu Topped Cold Tofu was garnished with ginger, bonito flakes, and Mitsuba, which added a nice touch. The tofu itself was delicious. The Tofu and Vegetable Grated Daikon Set came with miso soup with plenty of seaweed, a salad with cabbage and a little carrot with Caesar dressing, pickles, and perfectly cooked rice. The main dish had tofu, grated daikon, pumpkin, sweet potato, carrot, lotus root, green pepper, potato, and eggplant. The grated daikon was generous and not spicy. The green pepper and eggplant were a bit small, but overall, the dish was enjoyable. The root vegetables were soft but still had a slight crunch, and the pumpkin melted in your mouth. The tofu was lightly fried with a crispy outer layer, which I really liked. Overall, I was impressed with the lunch menu at this izakaya, and I would recommend coming here even during lunchtime. Great value for money.

I went to the South Ward Office in November 2017 and on my way back, I felt like eating soba noodles, so I went inside the Mu Crystal restaurant. Even though it was a casual place, they guided me to a private room, which made me happy. I ordered the Horauchi zaru soba, but I also thought the same-priced karaage set meal looked good. While I was lost in thought, the zaru soba arrived. It was thin noodles. I remembered that I had eaten thin soba here before. The first bite was delicious, but then I found the noodles to be too thin for my liking. I might prefer thicker soba noodles. There are hardly any commercial facilities around this area, and the population is decreasing. It's not popular among young families, even though it's near the station. I took the subway back to my parents' house. Thank you for the meal.

There is no shopping street even after getting off at the Maruyama Koen subway station. It is a residential area that used to be the athlete village for the Sapporo Olympics, and the neighborhood association works to preserve this scenery. A short walk away is the former "Crystal Town" with banks and supermarkets. Today, I had business at the Minami Ward office in Sapporo and decided to have lunch at their cafeteria. It was quite crowded, so we ended up sitting at a small table in the non-smoking section. I ordered the chicken tempura rice bowl with seaweed soba, while my husband ordered the pork steak set meal. The food was delicious and not too heavy. The soba noodles were thin and smooth, and the coffee was also very good. We chatted with an elderly couple sitting next to us, who were both healthy and in their 80s and 90s. It was a heartwarming experience.

Sapporo, Makomanai Subway Station area lacks dining options despite being a station front. "Yama no Saru" is located inside a shopping center between Makomanai Station and Minami Ward Office. There are only a few dining options in the area, such as KFC and the Minami Ward Office cafeteria. As a result, during lunchtime, the spacious restaurant is always packed with shoppers and office workers. I ordered the 500 yen (excluding tax) fried chicken set meal, which came with five fairly large pieces of fried chicken. The chicken wasn't very crispy, but the flavor was good. I wish they had provided lemon sauce. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I had some errands to run around here on a weekday and after 1 PM, I searched on Tabelog and found this restaurant to be the closest. It is located on the first floor of a building where East Hikari Store is located, about a 5-minute walk from the subway Makomanai Station. The parking lot in this building is free for up to 90 minutes. If you dine in the restaurant, they will stamp your parking ticket, which you can give to the parking attendant on the 3rd floor when you leave. One surprising thing near the entrance of this restaurant is that, despite being an izakaya, the space for food samples is unusually large, almost like a family restaurant. This is because there are not many family restaurants around Makomanai Station. Inside the restaurant, it felt more like a family restaurant, with mostly families and groups of women as customers, and a few salarymen. The place was about half full. I ordered the "daily set meal" with a drink (714 yen) and chose hot coffee. The coffee was served first and tasted like typical izakaya coffee, drinkable black. It took a bit of time for the food to arrive. I visited on a Thursday, so the set meal was "chicken and eggplant stir-fried with salt sauce." The chicken and eggplant were ordinary, but the salt sauce was quite tasty.

During a break from work in August 2012, I had lunch at Tori Age (fried chicken) at Toko Store Makomanai branch. It looked like a typical izakaya (Japanese pub) from the outside. I happened to pass by around lunchtime and saw several customers going in, so I checked the menu outside. The 525 yen Tori Age lunch looked appetizing with a generous serving of cabbage. The fried chicken pieces were small but juicy. The portion of rice was quite large as well. With miso soup included, I was full by the time I finished eating. It was nice to have plenty of cabbage at this price. I think it was a good value for money. Thank you for the meal.

Lunchtime visit with family. Some thoughts: - Located near the subway station. - Small commercial facility on the first floor. - Interior is somewhat dimly lit. - Various menu options like ramen, rice bowls, and soba available from lunchtime. - Eldest son had the kids' udon set, wife had soy sauce ramen, and I shared the ramen and gyoza set with our second son. - Ramen comes in miso or soy sauce flavors. - Chose soy sauce flavor. - Included pork slices, seaweed, green onions, bamboo shoots, and egg. - Enjoyed it with rice on the side. - Second son had the gyoza.

Local women's association event in October 2017: Due to budget constraints, the luxurious lunch was canceled. However, the restaurant surprised us with a newly renovated private dining area. The meal was pre-selected by the organizer and served as a set menu. We enjoyed hand-pressed sushi, three small side dishes, fried chicken, steamed egg custard, and miso soup. The vegetable side dishes were not to our liking and were left uneaten. Coffee was not included in the set and had to be ordered separately. The total cost for the sushi set was 1188 yen (excluding tax) with an additional 100 yen for coffee. Next time, we would like to pay the full amount for our meal. Thank you for the meal!
