I came to Sapporo after a long time and I must visit "Kushitori". It is a yakitori chain originating from Sapporo, with the first store opening in Susukino in 1980. It is located near Sapporo Station on the north side, very convenient. There was a line, as usual. I waited for about 10 minutes and was seated at the counter. Chicken bone soup and grated daikon radish were already set on the table. I started with the chicken bone soup to calm down. It's delicious. In Kansai, you have to pay for this, so it's definitely a treat. Here, you can have free refills. It costs 200 yen for seating, but still, it's nice. The pork loin is a must-try in Hokkaido yakitori. It's so good. The rice cake bacon is genius. It's incredibly delicious. The chicken liver is a classic. I topped it with red chili pepper. Solid choice. The tsukune with plum and shiso is exquisite. It's not an exaggeration to say that people come here just for this. I wanted to eat more, but it's time for the next stop, so I restrained myself. It was delicious again today. There were more solo female customers at the counter. The seats are non-smoking, with a smoking room available. It's really a great chain.

On this day, the shooting took place in Sapporo. We ended up at Kushitori for the wrap-up, for some reason. There is also one in Asahikawa, but well... the staff from Tokyo had never been there, so we decided to go. Under renovation. This place has two floors, and we walked from Sapporo Station North Exit, parked the car in the underground parking lot, and walked a bit. It's a bit far if you're alone, but if you're with others, it's easy to find. We had reserved a semi-private room. As expected, it's a popular place. You can't just walk in without a reservation, the place was quite crowded. Orders were made through a QR code. It was a hassle, so we asked the younger staff to do it. Iwakura highly recommended the potato salad. So we ordered it. He said you need two per person. But, well, we just ordered two in total. However, this time it was too salty. Whatever was on top was extremely salty. I can't eat two of these... I'm sorry. When I had it at a different restaurant before, it was really delicious. It wasn't this salty. Well, it's a chain restaurant, so I guess that happens. It's a good thing we didn't order more this time. The yakitori started to arrive. We didn't know what was coming or how much. Since the table was divided into two, they brought two per table. Probably asparagus, heart, stuffed bell peppers. Bell peppers are delicious in Hokkaido. Good choice. And then, something unbelievable happened. What is this!! Yakitori started coming all at once. Um, ponpochi, negima, raw meat, garlic pork skewers... I don't understand. Is this coming for each person...? It's a terrifying amount... And it keeps coming... The one who ordered was Inamura, who looks like Masato Japan. Um, is this how you order in Yamataikoku? You are still young, but we are already old men. If you don't think about what you order, it will be a disaster. What is this. Take the bacon and quail egg. One skewer... I don't need it. Just two with it pierced. There are a total of 20 quail eggs. If they all hatch, there will be 20 quails. Take them away. And, what is this about acorns on the menu? I asked and they ordered it without permission. When it arrived, I said, oh, acorns are quail eggs... according to Inamura. If you know, answer me!! And then, I was teased by Gaora Yamamoto for not wanting it. Do you want to eat it? Cheese tsukune is enough for one. It's a normal delicious tsukune. But, it gets heavy towards the end. I liked the plum and shiso tsukune better... But I enjoyed this one as well. Seared Kachogabaro. A cheese in the shape of a gourd. Cut it as it is, sandwich bacon in between, and bake it. You have to eat it while it's hot, or it won't stretch. When you eat it... stretchy. It stretched a lot. Quite stretched. I wanted to see how far it would stretch. However, it only stretches when it's hot. When it cools down... Those who ate it cold have a black face, and those who ate it warm have a cold Kacho. It must be because they make faces like that, their foreheads are getting wider and wider. It's not a face you make at a fun party. So... GAORA Market Latest Issue Former Nippon-Ham Fighters ace, Tsutomu Iwamoto, former HTB announcer Misa Kunii, and former Time Traveler myself. I'm the only one without "former" so I added it for myself. It seems that those who are subscribed to the cable TV can watch it, and my short version is also being aired. The latest issue will be aired from October. Please check it out. Thank you for the meal. ⇒◆Chain restaurants have different tastes at each store◇

I had a nice ramen for lunch, and right after eating, I decided to make a detour on my way home (lol). When I went to my usual fried chicken shop, it was unexpectedly full. My drinking buddy told me that there's a rush of salarymen at 5 o'clock, so there's nothing to be done. Now, where should I go... oh, there's a yakitori place! It's been years since I last went there. Let's give it a try. I was seated at a table as the counter was full. I asked the staff for my first beer, and the rest of the orders were placed through my smartphone. It made me a bit nervous. I managed to look at the menu and found out that the beer was 495 yen. Wow, that's expensive. I was surprised because the place I usually go to is cheaper. I'll switch to something else after the second drink. I ordered chicken liver skewers, chicken breast with plum sauce, chicken with vinegar, and something that seemed very spicy called "drooling meatballs." It's been a while since I had yakitori. They were delicious. The drooling meatballs weren't as spicy as they looked, so I dipped them in the sauce and licked the plate clean. Next was the chicken with vinegar. It had just the right amount of vinegar with glass noodles in it. It had a bit of mustard on it, and when mixed, it tasted even better. It was the best dish of the day. I also changed my drinks from beer to Dewar's highball, sweet gin and soda, and got a message from my mom on LINE saying she hadn't cooked dinner, so I ordered another skewer with plum and shiso. The plum was like liquid, a bit disappointing. The three young people next to me seemed to be discussing their love troubles. Ah, being young is nice. 🥺✨

Exhausted from working consecutive shifts at Sapporo Station North Exit in July 2023 (ヽ´ω`), I had to drink to survive! To replenish fluids, I stopped by Kushi Tori, which was surprisingly busy even after 9:30 pm on a weekday. Since I didn't feel like walking anymore and was the third group in line, I decided to wait patiently. Luckily, I was seated after about 15 minutes. I ordered a classic medium beer (゚Д゚)ノ for 495 yen, which came in a freshly washed lukewarm glass. Grated daikon was available upon request, and the chicken soup was refillable from a pot, which was a pleasant surprise (*≧∀≦). Orders were placed through a smartphone, and some seats may not be able to order. The appetizer, "Oshinko," for 290 yen, was served promptly and was slightly chewy. The skewers arrived quickly, including mochi bacon for 195 yen, pork loin with sauce for 190 yen, stuffed bell peppers for 195 yen, and gizzard for 170 yen. The sauce was thick and delicious, coating the meat nicely and complementing the alcohol. The mochi bacon seemed to have gotten bigger and was tasty (๑´ㅂ`๑). The gizzard was slightly overcooked, and the bell peppers were burnt and bitter, which was disappointing. The restaurant was constantly full of waiting customers, but I was satisfied and decided to give up my seat to the next person. The hotel nearby seemed to attract both domestic and international tourists, and reservations are a must for large groups. Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

A Sapporo yakitori restaurant where prices are gradually increasing but still offers a sense of stability and reassurance. Whether dining alone or in a group, it's a casual place to stop by. The Sapporo Station North Exit branch has a capacity on the second floor as well. They offer a variety of happy hour drinks at a great value. The taste of the skewers can vary depending on how they are cooked, but it still has that authentic yakitori flavor.

One of the shops I always want to visit when I go back home. Since there are few shops open on New Year's Day, it gets crowded early in the day. Reasonable prices and good service. Chicken bone soup and grated daikon are served as a service. The taste is consistently good. The chicken bone soup is served in a pot at each table. Mochi bacon is a specialty here. The pork wrapped in Iwakami's new ginger is also delicious. We had pork wrapped in shiso leaves, salted hormone, chicken skin, pork, and daikon salad. The cost performance is really strong.

I stopped by quickly before heading home and ordered an IN Highball for 440 yen at the counter. It's a bit more expensive compared to nearby chain restaurants. I also had some pickles for 280 yen and ginger-wrapped pork for 195 yen as snacks. Then, I had two strong plum wine highballs for 340 yen each to finish off! The prices for yakitori are also on the rise. Thank you for the meal!

This is a yakitori restaurant located a 5-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station. On this day, I had a meal with three colleagues, enjoying yakitori and exchanging information. We ordered a variety of items such as grilled chicken, tsukune, simmered chicken giblets, and kamameshi. Despite ordering a lot, the bill came out to around 3,500 yen per person. The taste was decent, and the cost performance was very good, which explains why many customers become repeat visitors. I look forward to bringing my children next time.

It's the perfect place for a third round near the Satsu Station (lol). We felt like something was missing and wanted to eat bacon-wrapped mochi with ginger, so we went there around 5 pm. It was almost full, but luckily we were able to get a seat right away. The people who came after us had to wait! We were completely satisfied with the bacon-wrapped mochi and ginger. Thank you for the meal! *(^o^)/*

I first thought of this chain restaurant and stopped by after work on Monday. I asked for various recommendations, and the potato skewers were surprisingly delicious, so I ended up getting seconds. I also tried sagari, green peppers, motsu, asparagus, and ponpochi, among many others (forgot to take a photo). I even ended up eating kama-meshi... It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Arrived in Sapporo and checked into a hotel behind Sapporo Station. Originally planned to go to a restaurant I knew in Chikaho, but unfortunately it was fully booked. I regretted not bringing a jacket as it was cold, so I gave up on taking a long walk and ended up at Kushitori nearby (first visit). It was close to 8 pm and the place was packed. I didn't expect it to be full on a Saturday, but that's how it is, I guess. After a 15-minute wait, I was seated at the counter. The interior was very clean, unlike the Kushitori I used to visit in the now-closed Susukino Station, so it felt fresh to me. The food order was 9 skewers and smashed cucumbers gradually. The eggplant skewer was particularly delicious. It seemed to be wrapped in something, giving it a nice flavor. However, the meat skewers were a bit cold overall, which was disappointing. For drinks, I had draft beer (2), highball, lemon sour, and sake, which got me pleasantly drunk. The service was consistent, but the plum wine is only available for customers at the counter. I left after about an hour and a half. New customers kept coming in, showing that the restaurant is well-known. I headed to another place for my final meal.

"Rice refills for free" ◆ Large Portion Pork Cutlet Curry [750 yen] This is the Sapporo Station North Exit store that I personally frequent the most (^-^) Today's choice is the Pork Cutlet Curry. I always go for the Fried Horse Mackerel and Big Chicken Cutlet, so it's been years since I had this. The rich and spicy curry, along with the crispy and thick pork cutlet, is delicious! Even with the large portion of rice, I couldn't get enough and ended up getting a refill of rice. It's the best! I'll seriously visit every day until the end date! Kushikatori is very popular, so we had to make a reservation! After work, my colleague and I enjoyed a delicious meal at Kushikatori and we were both very satisfied. We had a great time chatting, but unfortunately we were kicked out at 9pm due to COVID-19 restrictions (lol). The bacon-wrapped items were especially delicious. Thank you for the meal! *(^o^)/*

During lunchtime on a regular day, I finally visited a restaurant that serves "kushiage lunch" that I had been interested in for a while. The restaurant is called "Kushidori Sapporo Kitaguchi-ten" located near Sapporo Station North Exit. The exterior of the restaurant had minimal lighting, and if it weren't for a small sign saying "open," I would have thought it was closed. However, once I entered the restaurant, it was bustling with a full house of customers. I hesitated for a moment in front of the vending machine at the entrance... I had done some research on Tabelog reviews beforehand and decided on ordering the "aji fry set @530" but was tempted by other options like "croquette set @500," "minced cutlet set @600," "curry @500," "special zangi set @600," and "oyster fry set (limited time) @650." The interesting thing was that you could order items like zangi, croquette, minced cutlet, and tonkatsu individually, and you could also purchase bento boxes and a "takeout bag @10" from the vending machine. You could order without submitting a food ticket, and the order would be communicated to the kitchen. Once the food was ready, you would be called by the number stated on the ticket, allowing for a system where you could use it without any human interaction. I stuck to my initial choice and pressed the button for the "aji fry set," purchased the food ticket, and waited for a seat to become available. The operation was handled by a group of about four middle-aged women who moved efficiently. After about five minutes, I was escorted to a counter seat in front of the TV, where I was served water. Within three minutes, my number was called, and I went to pick up my tray (self-service). At the pick-up counter, you could add sauce, mayonnaise, dressing, etc. due to COVID-19 precautions, you couldn't use the condiment containers, but soy sauce was provided at the table. The set meal consisted of a plate with "3 pieces of aji fry, cabbage and other vegetables, tartar sauce," pickles, macaroni salad, white rice, and miso soup. You could have unlimited refills of rice and vegetables. I had sauce on one piece of aji fry and started eating. The aji fry was crispy and nicely browned, albeit small, but getting three pieces for this price was generous. I had the second piece with soy sauce and the third with tartar sauce. The vegetables were crunchy, the rice was well-cooked and slightly firm, and the miso soup had "green onions, dried seaweed, and fried tofu" in it, with a good balance of flavor. After finishing the meal, I returned the tray to the return counter at the entrance. The restaurant was entirely non-smoking, but there was a smoking room at the back of the restaurant. Next time, I would like to try the "curry with toppings" or the "minced cutlet set." Thank you for the meal.

On January 4, 2022, I visited a nearby hotel and walked to the restaurant. I had stayed at the hotel. I remembered having tried the yakitori at Big House supermarket during my business trip to Ishikari last year. The restaurant was crowded, and I had to wait as the third in line. I decided to wait patiently as it was snowing outside. There were many customers who had made reservations in advance. I was worried about the wait time, but I was seated after about 15 minutes. I started with a draft beer and then ordered a variety of yakitori dishes such as chicken wings, salted chicken skewers, pork and asparagus, beef fillet, chicken liver, tender miso-flavored chicken, and grilled hormone. As I still felt hungry, I ordered additional dishes like cartilage, chicken meatballs, pork wrapped in garlic and fresh ginger, and grilled cheese. Everything was delicious, especially when served hot. I switched to stronger lemon sours halfway through the meal and felt pleasantly tipsy. I left the restaurant feeling full and ready for a good night's sleep. It was my first time dining at this yakitori restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. Thank you for the meal!

Located near Sapporo Station North Exit, this yakitori izakaya was the second choice after the first one was full. Was seated at a 4-person table after a 5-minute wait. The ordering was done through a touch panel system in a bright and casual atmosphere. The yakitori arrived about 20 minutes after ordering and was juicy with a unique sweet sauce. The 180 yen drinks until 7:00 PM were a nice bonus. As expected from a chain that is well-known in the Sapporo area, the yakitori was of stable quality.

I visited around 1 pm on a weekday. It was empty. I bought a meal ticket from the vending machine. I decided on the fried horse mackerel for 530 yen and also added one piece of fried chicken for 100 yen. It was so cheap. I'm not sure if it's because of the pandemic, but they called my meal ticket number and I had to pick up my order myself. The staff asked me what sauce and dressing I wanted. The fried horse mackerel was small but there were three pieces and they were thick. They were juicy and delicious. I didn't even need the extra fried chicken. I will definitely come back when I crave fried horse mackerel.

The store is open until 7pm, and highballs are half price. With the chicken skewers, you get grated daikon radish and soup as a service. It would be nice if you could refill the daikon radish and soup using the touch panel. The service is average, but there are some inconsistencies in the time it takes for the food to arrive. The taste is consistent with the chain. The photos show simmered motsu and chicken skin with butter and ponzu sauce. Thank you for the meal.

Big chicken cutlet set meal for 600 yen. Rice and cabbage are refillable. Due to COVID, refills are not self-service, but ordered. Cheap and generous portion, but honestly not delicious. The miso soup is not good. The rice is so-so. The chicken cutlet is not bad, but not tasty either. The meat lacks flavor and is slightly dry. The pickles are average. The cabbage is delicious.

I visited the restaurant for the first time since the emergency declaration was lifted on May 25th. Due to the social distancing measures, we were seated at a table in the back where we couldn't see the TV. We ordered bottled beer, edamame, chicken skewers, pork skewers, and pork hormones. The table spacing seemed wider than usual. The food came out quickly, but the skewers seemed to have less oil and were harder to chew. We also ordered hot sake. The alcohol was still cheap and tasty, but the food quality seemed to have changed. I might need to visit the main branch in Susukino to confirm.
