It was a late afternoon, a little past 3 o'clock, so I was able to get a seat right away. The table in the back had a small space for children, making it easy for families with kids to dine. I ordered the limited-time seafood bowl with button shrimp, crab, salmon, and ikura for 2200 yen. It came with small dishes like squid rice, pickles, and crab soup, making it a filling and reasonably priced meal. The crab miso ramen was delicious with a strong crab flavor. I would definitely like to go back again.

In August 2022, I visited a fish market and restaurant located a little off the old Route 36. The restaurant had a spacious interior with raised seating areas. I decided to order grilled fish and was informed that they only had mackerel, but they could also make salmon. I opted for the mackerel grilled set. It took about 15 minutes for the dish to be served. The mackerel was not too big, with a mild saltiness and a tender texture. It was not too oily and had a clean aftertaste, which I liked. The miso soup had clam meat and a rich crab broth, providing a flavorful taste. I also bought some salmon flakes from the fish market, which were well-seasoned and delicious, without being too salty.

When I timidly opened the door of the restaurant, I found a spacious and comfortable space inside. The staff was a friendly woman. This place is a seafood restaurant run by a seafood merchant. **Whim Sashimi Set Meal: 1,100 yen** The sashimi I expected was a bit disappointing. The tuna was sinewy, the octopus was a bit dry, the salmon was average, and the freshness of the scallops was good. The amount of sashimi was a bit small for the relatively substantial rice. The crab soup had snow crab and small flower crabs, but it was mainly for the broth and didn't reflect much of the crab's flavor. Hmm... a bit unsatisfactory.

I learned from Hiroyuki-san's post that Katsuhisa-san has been renovated along a road that I often pass by. I had been thinking that they hadn't been open for a while. I had some business in Eniwa, so I visited for the first time after the renovation on a Saturday afternoon during my work break. I ordered the "whim sashimi set" for 1,100 yen and a coffee for 300 yen. There was no one parked in the spacious parking lot in front of the restaurant. There were no customers when I arrived, but three customers came in later. There was a fan or an air circulator rotating for ventilation. There was a TV on. The long wooden bench was a bit awkward to sit on at first, but they told me it "moves" so I adjusted it. I had been recommended the sashimi set, and they also suggested the "natural bluefin tuna extra serving bowl" for 1,600 yen, but I declined. The sashimi set for 1,100 yen was cheap. By the way, the grilled hokke set meal is also 1,100 yen, and the hokke grill on its own is 1,650 yen. It comes with rice, two side dishes, and crab soup. The contents of the sashimi vary depending on the procurement situation. On this day, it included octopus, salmon, tsubu (whelk), tuna, and marinated tuna, I think. It was sweet, fresh, and melted in my mouth. The side dishes were fuki (butterbur) and a delicacy. There was a sign on the tray saying "This delicacy is also available for sale at 529 yen per pack." They are good at business. I didn't know what kind of delicacy it was. There was a sign near the buzzer saying "Would you like to try the delicious coffee from Mondeur Farm? We have really delicious coffee." so I added a coffee. The cup was high quality, rich, and delicious. The temperature was high, and the sugar cubes dissolved quickly. It was reasonable, and the menu was clear and improved. The service was polite and good. I think they could also register their store at the adjacent Fukuya Shokuhin. I recommend it to seafood lovers. Thank you for the meal.

This is the restaurant "Kaisentei Katsuhisa" where I wanted to try the sea urchin broth salt ramen that they had last year. When I called, I was told that they were closed due to the pandemic and there was no set date for reopening. I kept checking on social media, but there were no posts about them reopening. I visited the restaurant last month and found that there was only a store called "Fukuya Shokuhin." When I asked the male staff about "Kaisentei Katsuhisa," he told me that they had closed last year due to the pandemic, and that this store was originally a joint venture between the owner of "Kaisentei Katsuhisa" and the president of "Fukuya Shokuhin." I heard that they would reopen the restaurant on their own at the end of April. I shared this information with the Tabelog administrator and that's how the current situation came to be. There were no other customers inside, and only table seats and raised tatami seats were available, so even if you visit alone, you will be seated at a large table. I ordered the sea urchin broth salt ramen, and a young female staff member started making it. My wife also ordered the same thing, but for some reason, they only made one serving. Probably because it was her first time cooking in a restaurant. When the female staff member put the noodles in the bowl, I saw her take them out of a bag, and they looked like dried noodles. It was not the straight type like Ippon Udon, but a crinkled type. The first bowl was served to my wife, she drank the soup, slurped the noodles, and quickly added the pepper that was provided. Seeing this, I understood what was going on. Now, as I sipped the sea urchin broth ramen soup, I thought, "I don't really taste the sea urchin flavor..." I think the soup is made from seafood broth, but it's not a strong, upfront flavor, it's a subtle, light taste. There is sea urchin in it, but it seems to be either grilled or seared, giving it a slightly bitter aftertaste. I also tried it with pepper, but it was a challenging ramen without it. My wife's bad mood after finishing her meal was quite rare (laughs)

"Tuna Tower Donburi" for 1,100 yen. A towering negitoro tower. The tuna slices were not that great, but the negitoro was delicious. It's a shop known for uni and crab, so maybe I should have ordered something with uni or crab? It seems that from now on, they will only be open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays."

Visit date: Around 1:30 PM on February 4, 2021. On this day, I visited the restaurant "Hokkaido Seafood Tei Katsuhisa". It had been about two weeks since I took a short break, so it was nice to soak up some sunlight. I drove to the restaurant and entered. The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious, with table seating as well as traditional tatami seating. There was only one customer before me, probably due to the time of day. I ordered the lunch set which included "Uni Dashi Shio Ramen" and "Salmon and Salmon Roe Donburi" (tax included ¥1518). Although the ramen alone would have been enough, I wanted to taste a small amount of the seafood dish since it was a seafood restaurant. After a short wait, tea was served. Tea seemed to go better with a seafood restaurant than water. The dishes arrived after about 5 minutes. As you can see in the photo, the steam from the ramen was impressive. It was piping hot, perfect for dealing with the cold weather. I took a sip of the soup first. The soup was quite salty, and I couldn't tell if it had a uni (sea urchin) flavor. The uni pieces were a bit dry and hard, not melting easily into the soup. Even without melting them, I couldn't really taste the sweetness of the uni. I wondered if they had grilled, steamed, or marinated the uni for the ramen. I'm not sure. The other ingredients included medium curly noodles, green onions, wood ear mushrooms, seaweed, and wheat gluten instead of chashu pork. I was pleased with the generous amount of green onions. As I continued eating the toppings, the soup remained more salty than having a distinct uni flavor. The mini donburi had a decent amount of salmon roe, but the salmon was just average. About halfway through, I thought of adding about three servings of pickled lotus root to the soup and eating it like ochazuke (tea poured over rice). With the help of the saltiness of the soup, each ingredient had a nice touch of saltiness. Despite some minor concerns, considering that I could enjoy two seafood dishes at this price point, I think it was good overall. I ate too much for lunch, so I decided to skip rice for dinner. If I were to visit again, I might try dishes with tuna sashimi. Thank you for the meal.

This is a place located in Kashiwagi-cho, Eniwa City, along the old Route 36. The exact location can be confirmed on the map on the food review website. I noticed a sign for "Sea Urchin Salt Ramen" and "Crab Miso Ramen" in front of this shop on my way back from a traditional soba restaurant, so I decided to visit for the first time. I parked in the front parking lot and entered the shop, where I sat at a table for four since there was no counter seating. I ordered the "Sea Urchin Salt Ramen" from the menu board and waited for it to arrive. It took about 10 minutes for the ramen to be served, but the amount of sea urchin seemed less than what was shown in the photo. The soup had a light seafood broth with a slightly salty taste. The noodles were medium-thick, slightly curly, and pale in color. The toppings included a few pieces of seared steamed sea urchin, menma, fu, wood ear mushrooms, nori, and roughly sliced white leeks. Personally, I prefer finely chopped leeks in salt ramen. It seems that the "Crab Miso Ramen" might be a better choice here for a stronger seafood broth. Next time, I might try the "Sashimi Set" for lunch since this is a seafood restaurant.

In the area of Eniwa and Chitose, I was taken by a local to "Hokkaido Kaisentei Katsuhisa" in Eniwa City. The recommended dish is the "Katsuhisa Don" for 2,786 yen, which comes with crab soup and pickles. It includes seasonal fresh fish, uni, and crab. However, the actual dish is less voluminous than it appears in the menu photos. The portion of sashimi is quite small, with a third of the bowl covered by small pieces of sashimi. The crab claws are also relatively small. Considering the price of 2,786 yen, the dish is disappointing. If you want to eat seafood, it's better to go to the nearby restaurant instead.

The infamous crab store in Ebetsu, Fukuya, has been renovated into a sea urchin and crab restaurant. I found out about this from a review by Mr. Jun Kawai, who seems to be a well-known figure on Tabelog. He was involved in the planning of the show "Iron Chef". I wanted to try the sashimi set lunch (980 yen) on weekdays, but they were not offering it, perhaps due to the Obon holiday. They also do not offer all-you-can-eat crab, so some customers left. I'm not a fan of sea urchin and crab, so I was hesitant, but I ended up choosing the 2-color bowl, where you can choose between crab, sea urchin, salmon, squid, shrimp, and ikura. The bowl comes with red vinegar rice, but they also offer white rice if you ask. I opted for white rice. The crab soup was included, and there was plenty of ikura and fatty salmon. The restaurant was featured on a TV show in Hokkaido with Total Tenbosu, and they were very accommodating during filming. The service, phone etiquette, and the head chef were all very friendly. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited a unique restaurant in Hokkaido, Ebetsu, which is known for its seafood despite being far from the sea. The restaurant is a collaboration between a crab wholesaler called "Fukuya" and a sea urchin wholesaler called "Maruga Kogawa Foods," which reopened in April this year. I decided to try their special dish, the "Ukani Donburi (crab and sea urchin bowl)" priced at 2480 yen. I also added a crab soup for an extra 300 yen, which was complimentary during lunch hours. The dish arrived promptly, and although the portion seemed smaller than expected, the quality of the sea urchin and crab was decent. I enjoyed the subtle sweetness of the sea urchin and crab with a touch of soy sauce. However, I later discovered another menu item called the "Nama Uni Mamire Donburi (bowl filled with fresh sea urchin)" priced at 2980 yen, which I couldn't resist trying. The bowl arrived with a generous amount of high-quality Bafun sea urchin, which was incredibly delicious and left a rich aftertaste. I was also shown a live hairy crab that had just arrived, but I was too full to try it. Overall, the experience was unique and enjoyable, and I look forward to returning to try more of their offerings in the future.

In August 2020, I tried the Uni Katsu Salmon Nishikyo-yaki Noriben for 500 yen (with an additional 50 yen for crab soup) at a seafood wholesaler along a major street in Ebetsu. Although I hadn't heard many good reviews, I was intrigued by the bento I saw on a TV show. I decided to stick to my original plan of trying the 500 yen bento, which included salmon (grilled with miso, teriyaki, and dried overnight), along with the 50 yen crab soup. The bento looked cheap, with two small and overcooked pieces of salmon, two small pieces of Zangi, and one Uni croquette that tasted like mashed sea urchin. This bento seemed more like a side dish for alcohol rather than a meal. The crab soup, with visible crab meat and flavorful broth, was a nice addition. Overall, the bento alone was average for its price, but with the crab soup included, it was a good value. Thank you for the meal.
