On the way back from the hospital. Initially, I was so hungry that my stomach was growling, and I planned to have a late lunch at Burger Mania Shirokane on my way back. However, as I waved to a figure in the window of the private ward and talked on the phone with the person hospitalized, I suddenly felt very sad and my hunger disappeared. I took the JR Tamachi Station to Toei bus route to the hospital, but on the way back, I walked aimlessly towards Hiroo Station or Ebisu Station. It was my first time walking in the Shirokane and Hiroo areas! While walking along the main road (Route 416), I discovered a pedestrian-friendly street called "Hiroo O Sanpo Dori" at the intersection of Hiroo 5-chome, and headed in that direction, where I soon found a shop called ARNAUD LARHER. Remembering it in katakana as Arno Raeru, the alphabetic name didn't immediately ring a bell, but somehow Arnaud Larher seemed readable, so I entered the store. I visited around 3 PM on a weekend and I was the only customer. I bought the following items: Kouign-Amann for 430 yen (including 8% tax), which is a specialty and apparently popular. This was indeed delicious! I don't usually buy Kouign-Amann, so this is the third one I've ever had. The first one I tried was from a local supermarket, and I was amazed at how delicious Kouign-Amann could be! However, because of its rich buttery taste and sweetness, I hesitate to eat a whole one alone, so even though I know it's delicious, I don't usually buy it. The second Kouign-Amann was brought by my husband from Échiré Marché au Beurre in Osaka. It had too much butter, gave me indigestion, and probably triggered my aversion to buying Kouign-Amann... This was my first Kouign-Amann in a while... It was highly recommended by other reviewers, so I gave it a try, and it was really good! It tasted like a very delicious butter cookie. The flat, caramelized sugar was soft and easy to break. I used to think Kouign-Amann was a hard, crunchy candy-like food... I want to buy another one and share it with my family! I'll ask my husband to get it on his way back from his appointment. Canelé de Bordeaux for 380 yen (including 8% tax), while not my favorite, was satisfying and of a high standard as expected from a prestigious shop. Toulouse-Lautrec for 870 yen (including 8% tax), my child who loves chocolate said this was their favorite among the items we tried this time. It's a specialty. The chocolate mousse was fluffy like ganache, yet rich. It's made of four types of chocolate, but it's enjoyable in half portions; if I had a whole one to myself, I couldn't handle such a rich chocolate cake... Paper bag for 100 yen (including 10% tax) ----- It's nice that even though it's a prestigious shop, it's not crowded enough to form a line in the scorching sun. Hiroo is a bit inconvenient, according to my standards. The packaging was stylish and sturdy, and I was surprised that they brought the items out to me outside the store! (Like a clothing store) ----- September was a month of battling infectious diseases. Let's stay vigilant and careful.
