2022/10/30 First Visit "115th Visit in 2022" Today, both my husband and I are off, so we decided to head towards Tomakomai for some shopping. On the way, we decided to stop by a restaurant that we had been curious about for a while! Ramen Yamato is the name of the place, and we were able to smoothly get seated as the restaurant was about 70% full. We checked out the menu, which had a variety of options. Since it was my first time, I went with the special miso ramen. My wife chose the "Duck Ramen" that caught my eye, and we also added a mini chashu rice bowl. It was quite pricey, but I understand that the cost of ingredients is high nowadays, so it's understandable. They seem to have a strong emphasis on the noodles. Oh, is this restaurant part of the Taiwa Group in Chitose? Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, I can't really say... As we were contemplating all these things, our ramen arrived! The ramen looked quite promising. I tried the soup first. Ouch! The soup was really hot. It's great, it's great! The pork bone broth was strong, and it packed quite a punch. The use of lard was also effective. The noodles were supposedly their specialty, and they were medium-thick, with a strong chewiness that paired well with the robust soup. The toppings complemented the noodles and soup nicely, creating a high-quality dish. This might be one of the top flavors in the Taiwa group. The chashu rice bowl was also good, with thick slices of tender chashu that worked well in a bowl. I also tasted my wife's Duck Ramen. It had a light duck broth, but with a good amount of duck meat, resulting in a flavorful broth. The strong noodles worked well with this soup. It seemed to hit the spot for my wife, as she really enjoyed it. I'm glad we stumbled upon such a great ramen place on our first visit. With a wide variety of items on the menu, there's still much more we want to try, so we'll definitely come back when we're in Tomakomai again. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal♪

Towards the end of my trip to Hokkaido, I realized that I had missed out on trying Sapporo miso butter corn ramen, so I happened to visit this restaurant. There were many menu options, but I quickly decided to order the butter corn ramen. The flavor was incredibly rich and delicious, it was so good that it made my eyes pop. Since I was hungry, I also ordered something like a tuna roll, which was also tasty with a strong mayonnaise flavor. I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again when I go back to Hokkaido.

Visited for a late lunch on the final day of my trip to Hokkaido. It had been about a week since I last had ramen, so I chose this place to satisfy my craving. The restaurant is quite spacious, but the floor seemed a bit oily. They seem to take pride in their noodles. I ordered the salt ramen, while my wife got the miso ramen. The miso ramen was quite flavorful and a bit salty. The salt ramen had a rich flavor and was packed with vegetables, almost like a tanmen dish. The noodles they are known for were slightly thick and had a firm texture, providing a satisfying eating experience. Thank you for the meal.

Visited Pirika Ramen for the first time this year and tried the Spicy Ramen for 835 yen (935 yen - 100 yen Maido Sama card discount). Although I was in the mood for tsukemen, I ended up ordering the spicy ramen after looking at the menu. It had a salty flavor typical of Yamato style, which I personally enjoy. However, I was disappointed by the presentation as it did not match the menu description.

This is one of TaiGa's group restaurants. I used to go to "Kota" in Sapporo often and had a "Maido-san card" that I could get by collecting stamps, but I lost the card and haven't been there for a while. My go-to order here is the Ume Shio ramen. The refreshing taste and guilt-free soup make me finish every last drop. Of course, other flavors are also highly recommended at this restaurant. Today, I happened to meet an acquaintance from a competitor company at the restaurant, and he ordered the miso ramen. He said, "It's delicious, isn't it?"

Ginger oil tsukemen with extra noodles and toppings - 1165 yen (950 yen + 200 yen + consumption tax 115 yen - Maido card 100 yen). The noodles are thick and dark in color, served on a bed of ice. It comes with yuzu salt, wasabi salt, and yuzu peel. The toppings include seaweed, green onions, chashu, half-flavored egg, and menma. The ginger flavor is refreshing and easy to eat. The yuzu peel adds a nice touch of freshness. I found the yuzu salt and wasabi salt a bit confusing at first, so I ended up just putting them in the dipping sauce. Unfortunately, it made the broth too salty. The portion sizes range from small to extra large, and I mistakenly ordered the extra-large size, which turned out to be too much for me to finish comfortably. I was intrigued by the Yukkejang as well.

Ankakera Ramen for 1000 yen (actually 900 yen with a discount using my loyalty card). I visited this place near my home and couldn't decide between the Stamina Miso soup or the salty Kamo Ramen. But when I saw the table menu offering Ankakera Ramen and Ankake Yakisoba, I was intrigued. After a brief moment of hesitation, I ordered the Ankakera Ramen because I generally like dishes with ankake sauce. The bowl arrived, steaming hot with a generous amount of ingredients including scallops, shrimp, clams, quail eggs, ham, pork, mushrooms, bean sprouts, cabbage, and other vegetables. The sweet ankake sauce complemented the dish well, especially with a sprinkle of pepper for added kick. By the end of the meal, I was sweating but satisfied. For 900 yen, this was definitely a good deal. I personally prefer the term "ankake" over "ankake," although it doesn't affect the taste. The restaurant also seems to specialize in tsukemen, so I'll have to try that next time.

Visited the Gaten with my partner OG right after work. Despite the thunderstorm, the place was packed. The two waitresses were efficient and the service was quick. I ordered the special salt and seasoned egg ramen, while my partner ordered the special miso ramen. We shared a spoonful of each other's soup and it was delicious. This area seems to be bustling with construction, road work, and gas installations, so it will likely remain busy for a while. The special salt and seasoned egg ramen cost 1000 yen, and the special miso ramen cost 900 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

Miso Ramen for 750 yen. It's on the salty side, which I like. They offer various types of miso like special miso and stamina miso. The salted duck ramen is also recommended. Sometimes the duck meat can be a bit tough, but the pepper adds a nice kick to it.

Huh? I didn't realize there was a shop here along this busy national highway. I had never noticed it before. It's a new branch of the Hinga Group in Tomakomai. I like the Hinga Group, and I used to eat there a lot when I went to Chitose. The interior of the shop is quite plain. This time, I was curious about the duck ramen and ordered it. But I was disappointed because it was a chicken-based broth, which I don't like. I like duck, though. It was not soy sauce-based, but a white broth. Oh well, I made a mistake. I want to try the regular ramen next time. Thank you for the meal!

Image is important. I felt hesitant about the salty taste of this group, even though I'm used to salt as a Tomakomai person, so it took about 8 years for me to revisit. -Backfat Ramen 850 yen, Flavored Egg Topping 100 yen = 950 yen The saltiness I once felt has faded, and the soup and backfat are now carefully balanced. The curly noodles, simmered just right, and the chashu are also good. Surprisingly, maybe because I didn't have high expectations, it was decently delicious. The charm of the backfat ramen that once captivated many people, mixed with a taste balance updated to fit today's trends, was quite good. However, as a Tomakomai person, it's sad that I have to say... (self-deprecating).

I had always known about this place, but never got around to trying it... The reason being, it's a Tai Ga style restaurant. Ramen, like any other food, can be a matter of personal taste. Of course, preferences can vary for other things besides food. So please understand that even if two people eat the same thing, they may have different reactions. For me, Tai Ga style doesn't suit my taste (^^;; Though I find Tokiya style here quite palatable (laughs). I visited during the least busy time, after lunch. No other customers before or after me. I had decided on soy sauce ramen, but looking at the menu, it was clear that this place focuses on miso and salt flavors. I was pondering what to do when I noticed the words "limited time offer." So I decided to order the "Ankake Yakisoba for 950 yen." Let's dig in! "Hmm, the flavor is quite mild and the ingredients are pretty ordinary." "There's no vinegar on the table." "They provided pickled ginger, but no mustard." "As for the noodles..." - Ankake Yakisoba for 950 yen - Cost performance: It's a bit pricey considering the portion. - Noodles: I think they're steamed noodles, but they have that typical mushy texture. I prefer them to be stir-fried just before serving. - Sauce (including the ingredients): The flavor is just average. A bit more umami wouldn't hurt. - Vinegar: I like to eat half without vinegar and then pour plenty on the rest (laughs). So, it's a problem if there's no vinegar. If they can't place it on the table, they should provide vinegar along with the Ankake Yakisoba. - Mustard: It's not necessary for me, but for those who like it, it might be a disappointment. If they can't place it on the table, they should provide mustard along with the vinegar when serving the Ankake Yakisoba. Since I couldn't discern the typical Tai Ga style flavor in the Ankake Yakisoba, I'd like to try the soy sauce ramen next time to confirm the taste of Yamato.

This is a story about warming up with a joke. The writer is trying to remember a ramen restaurant they visited last year, and after some searching, they remembered it was called "Yamato." The writer had visited Yamato on a work trip around 1:30 pm and found the interior of the restaurant to be plain and unremarkable. They ordered the special miso ramen and found it to be average in taste, with a good amount of green onions and small slices of pork. Overall, the writer found the ramen to be okay but not particularly outstanding.

I was not good at the thick noodles, which were typically rubbery. I commented on the image data, saying "I made the wrong choice." I guess I just don't like the texture. My traumatic experience in first grade has made me unable to enjoy this type of noodles. I always find that I prefer the low-water noodles from Asahikawa ramen. It's just a matter of personal preference, so I can't help it. No matter how delicious the broth is, if the noodles don't suit my taste, I can't continue eating. As always, I started with the noodles, it goes without saying. I never perform the ritual of "first soup first" because it's meaningless to me. Is it because they are checking the broth? Are they trying to gain satisfaction from it? I don't understand...

After finishing work, I visited the restaurant with my family. We had the popular miso ramen and also some dumplings. It had been 2-3 years since my last visit, but the taste seemed unchanged from back then, which was good. Next time, I plan to try a different ramen as well.

I love Taiga G's ramen restaurant! I wonder if I have visited all the locations except Susukino, Yamato was delicious too. They have a sunken kotatsu seating area as well.
